OMG OMG OMG...I HOPE this means that she's back for more than just "appearances". The show needs this character. MAB at least knew how to use her. I can't wait!

She really needs to be here full time. I hope she has scenes with LAuren, at least Lauren referenced how horrible she was to Tracey back in the day with the Fen/Jaime drama

I love Beth Maitland. These are the characters the show needs to bring back full time. I would love to see Maitland and Tracy Bregman in a now adult story of all they have been through together. Pulling from those rich past storylines, the show can only be better for it.

Traci has been one of my favorites on Y&R, so I always like knowing she's on the show.

I've loved Traci since the Danny/Traci/Lauren days, but I think it's better to have Traci stay for short periods, or else she might get a target painted on her back. I can't help but think that Traci is just the sort of character (a moral center, a home-and-hearth type of woman "of a certain age") JFP is infamous for killing off in the name of a short-term ratings spike.

Keep her! KEEP HER!! KEEEEEEPPPPP HEEEERRRRRRR!!!!

I love Beth and her character of Tracey! She is a rock and would love to see her longer on the show than to remind us of how great she would be on the program! Y&R needs her because we need a beautiful momma bear on the show

I hate to go here, but I think it's one of the only Y and R characters that MAB kept true to character and didn't ruin. And she did have her on for several returns. Love it.

MAB killed off Traci's only child!!! Angry Angry Angry We could use Colleen on the canvas, giving Abby a sister she grew up with and being a Carlton\Abbott. She could throw some shade toward Chelsea because of Cane, Lily going to need her best friend when it all goes south with Cane.

I would like to see her in scenes w\Lauren & Fen and talk to Fen as Christine.

Actually Traci should return and repossess Colleen's heart and offer it to someone more deserving; except of course it's probably been blackened beyond repair by now.

Yeah, say what you will about MAB--and many of us have said plenty, myself included--but she did utilize Beth more often than previous regimes(well at least more than anyone since Bill Bell was still running the show), even if it was to prop up her siblings during their time of need or when Traci's own child was being sacrificed unnecessarily to drive MAB's plot-driven storytelling methods. With John gone, Traci should be positioned as the emotional lynchpin of the Abbott clan and brought back on at least a recurring basis.

JFP's twisted self had better not brought Traci back only to kill her off!

MAB was all for using the history of Y&R and characters...ie Nina, brought back Snapper, Liz, Greg, Phillip etc to have mama Foster die! It was always the writing of stories and her endless snatch & grab big names and would use them then the proverbial "throwing the baby out with the bath water" after she was bored. For myself that's where I couldn't stand her and her uneven writing at rapid pace. Blink you missed something, not a character driven writer (she was delusional always using her last name and Bill Bell) but she was a plot driven mess as some other HW's. Wink

Yeah Harlee, Colleen is gone, and that after Ricky, was MAB's greatest mistake.

But, as a MAB-defender. I would rather see her outlandish plots anyday... than the endless flashbacks to Dylan's past. Dylan and Cupcake during their affair. Dylan and Dad right before Dad dies.

And the Fen/Jamie/Summer plot resolution? Fen is just an OK kid again, more righteous than either self-centered Dad, or now town-w#ore Mom? Jamie is gone -- sad day, the kid was really good as a teen with angst. And Summer is completely over Fen, and now is madly in 'love' with her soon-to-be-revealed brother Kyle. Dumb. Where was the PS announcement about bullying?

And dont get me started about Jack-is-an-addict, now Jack wants to start a clothing company...

Good to see Tracey. Hopefully she and Lauren can have a duke-out fight again.

hey mon...I'm tired of your defending MAB on all costs, trying to stick it to Josh, MAB's low point in ratings was 3.0 and regardless 3.3 is a slight improvement and this new team has put Y&R back in the positive side over the last year, MAB did not but turning in negative numbers. She was constantly losing between -300k to -500k viewers a week.

I always tried to overlook some of your prejudice statements and defended you thinking you didn't mean what you stated but rather you might used wrong wording but you know what I'm starting to believe I was totally wrong. You don't want to give credit where credit is due, one minute you'll fine with something, then next time contradict your own statement. You're all over the map all the time. It's sad you can't enjoy nothing but measuring your muscles.

harlee, Let me check my messages, let's see, I've got:

1. Two messages from 2 people who agree with my political point of view.

2. One person who doesn't like my political point of view at all.

3. Another from someone who hates that I defend Adam Newman.

4. Another from someone who hates that I 'put down' Steve Burton (Dylan).

5. A message from someone who wants me to 'join/defend' Cane and Lily.

6. And another from a guy who says he loves me, wants to meet me, and insists I must be a bisexual or gay.

All in a week at Daytime Confidential.

But what is NOT there? Messages from ladies aged 40 - 60, wanting conversation and etc about life and Daytime. So, I do understand, harlee, I am on the wrong Daytime web-site.

hey mon ... exactly what makes Michael so self-centered???

Even Paul who was "victimized" by Michael has said that he was acting on evidence; which was very much in place.

In my day parents tended to believe that their kids could not be the perfect little beings they'd like them to be. But now parents can't spank their kids, nor can they receive corporal punishment at school. I think the old school attitudes had much more benefit.

Damn, you mean somebody got to you before I did? Kidding..but maybe not. Wink

Seriously, I truly believe this show is EXPONENTIALLY better than it ever was under MAB; I can honestly say the one time I thoroughly enjoyed her tenure was when Patti shot Jack at the church and the week of episodes surrounding that(unfortunately, the momentum from that was quickly lost).

Having said that, the balance that Josh Griffith--I don't ever mention JFP because I'm not sure how much of a hand she has in all this beyond budgetary issues--has brought to this canvas has been pretty damn good. No more of the Victor and Phyllis Show--Victor is actually being written as not completely subhuman for the first time in forever and Phyllis isn't eating the show alive anymore. Michael and Lauren are front and center where they need to be. Some of the very few decent characters MAB introduced are being fleshed out beyond being just one-note(Chelsea)or glorified extras(Leslie). Even the younger set isn't bad thanks to some good actors(Max Ehrich, Robert Adamson, even Hunter King). And for maybe the first time ever, I don't hate Lily and Cane(even less so if the writers are about to throw a major rift their way).

Granted, I'm not loving Dylan(or his backstory) and Avery is starting to wear on me after my initial fondness for the character. I'm not loving the revisiting of Shadam or the continued dilution of Billy Abbott at the hands of the writers in order to prop up Villy in general and Victoria specifically. And my disgust for Kevin has ramped up at a much quicker pace of late as the character's viability, not to mention relevance, disappeared long ago(and speaking of propping up characters--paging Chloe Mitchell).

Still, for those who liked MAB and her bag of crazy--characters dressed as chipmunks, double doppelgangers, murders solved by way of hand-crafted pillows, mob molls who bite rather than kiss their exes on the lips, admittedly hot 6'2" psychotics getting shot in the shoulder and summarily stumbling 10 feet back and out the window, and strawberry blonde psychotics who can't act--then I could see where this particular regime may not be their cup of tea.

Tracey was a character I adored watching growing up...I related to her so much and it is where my hate of Lauren comes from..I am so happy and will tune in with a more watchful eye now that she is heading home
