Soap Stars Debate Agnes Nixon’s Importance to AMC and OLTL Reboots on Hallmark’s Planet 360!

Just how significant a role should Agnes Nixon play in the continuations of her iconic sudsers, One Life to Live and All My Children? The topic is debated by soap veterans Crystal Chappell, Tristan Rogers and Martha Madison on today's installment of Hallmark Channel's Planet 360. Watch a sneak peek after the jump!

Sorry, Tristan, I'm Team Madison on this one. Mama Agnes needs to be involved with the rebirths of her soaps from their rooters to their tooters! Check out Planet 360 today at 12 pm EST on Hallmark Channel!

OH so on Team Madison TOO! If PP were smart use Anges’s knowledge and would have her involved in a big way, because if PP’s thinking she’s “outdated” boy are they in for a rude awakening. If established vet was approached by PP not knowing the histories they might “think” about it but if Anges Nixion so beloved in this industry came to an vet and said “would you”…who’s going to get the respect…hmmmm ;)

I can’t really believe TR said that. I can’t understand what he’s trying to say. He’s denying that he means Agnes Nixon isn’t able to tell updated, modern, groundbreaking stories (which she’s always done anyway)…but then he says he doesn’t think she’s the right fit to tell stories of today. That may not have been his exact statement, but I’m too lazy to go back and rewatch, but he basically said the exact same thing he denied saying.

Though it’s not a big deal. Because Agnes Nixon already has her position which is WELl DESERVED. And to be perfectly honest, I believe if she were to be the headwriter of the show, she could do THAT too, though I’m glad she’s the storyline consultant. I’m pretty happy with what they have going on…just didn’t understand what Tristan rogers was trying to say.

Ummm, why is this even a subject of debate? The shows are HER babies – she has a right to be involved and SHOULD be involved up until she breaths her last breath. I don’t think it is any soap actors business to say that she shouldn’t or couldn’t.

And why are these particular actors discussing this matter anyway, have any of these even appeared on AMC or OLTL?

Yes Crystal Chappell. She started her career as a murse on AMC in 1989 and was on OLTL from 1995 as Andrew Carpenter’ Cousin, Maggie who wanted to become a nun. She fell for Max and opened a circus school which max burnt down. She then left to join the circus

so nice to see how loyal soap fans are. they’ll venerate you like a god one minute and throw you under the bus the next. i can’t help thinking that that’s one of the (admittedly many) reasons why at one point there were 17 network soaps and now there’s only four

First of all, great picture of the early cast of ONE LIFE with Lillian Hayman (Sadie), Gillian Spencer (Viki), Anthony Ponzini (Vinnie), Lynn Benisch (Meredith), Michael Storm (Larry)…I have no idea who the man and the little blonde pig-tailed child were. I love early ONE LIFE.

Second, Agnes as storyline consultant…was she in that position when Megan McTavish created Kendall Hart, demonseed spawned from Erica’s rape by Richard Fields, and then the unaborted fetus of Erica that took a sci-fi turn and brought on demonseed son Josh Madden? It seems to me I recall Agnes being open to McTavish’s storyline pitches. Can somebody clarify this for me?

    Thanks,
    Erik
