Paul and Chavez Hunt For Answers on The Young and the Restless

Wednesday's The Young and the Restless opened with Doug Davidson talking about Paul Williams, his many loves and losses.  He proudly reminded fans of his in-show photo spread. While I enjoyed the segment, the best part was Lauren's (Tracey Bregman) various 1980's hairstyles. I really think Y&R needs to figure out a way to bring back Peter Porte as Paul's son Ricky.

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) revealed to Jack (Peter Bergman) why they didn't go on their trip.  They decided that Summer (Hunter King) would be moved to the fashion division in order to avoid a "cross the line" conflict.

Leslie (Angell Conwell) visited her dad in jail on the day she was supposed to testify in his case. Tyler (Redaric Williams) showed up, but revealed he was testifying against their father.

Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) talked about Adam (Michael Muhney). Nikki noted how similar Victor and his son are.

Sharon (Sharon Case) was in his hospital room when Adam woke up. Adam asked Sharon to run Newman Enterprises so that Victor couldn't steal it. The doctor rushed in, as Adam started having a seizure. Sharon was heartbroken when she learned a blood clot had moved to Adam's brain, causing him to again lose consciousness.

Paul (Doug Davidson) and Chavez (Ignacio Serricchio) spent a bunch of time trying to figure out who attempted to kill Victor. Congressman Wheeler (Mark Pinter) dropped by the GCPD to check on the status of the investigation, just as his hitman was brought up from his cell.

The best part of Wednesday's episode of The Young and the Restless was Jack calling Victor out at the Newman ranch. He arrived at Victor's door and ripped into him, even bringing up Colleen's (Tammin Sursok) death. Jack vs. Victor moments are almost as good as Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) vs. Jill (Jess Walton) scenes.

This was good episode especially with Jack & Victor. I love how the writers are weaving in the past histories to gel these stories...that's good old fashion soap writing, it resonates w\fans, because we remember the histories better then any soap writer (except Bill Bell)and makes the scene so rich with emotions is which fans of Y&R loves.

NO! NO! NO! MAB f*cked up PP's "Ricky" character and you just had a piece(not speaking of Jon Hamm Wink )on return of dead characters! Angry This is part of problem...lets move forward not backwards and start anew or it's nothing but a rehash of MAB...Josh is showing he's no MAB! Evil but a real soap writer! Smile If you want a son for Paul then do a story on Scott being Paul's son not Scott Sr...he's dead and gone and wasn't a legacy character and you could use Sheila as the one that changed the test results.

The centerfold is one of my fondest memories of Paul & Lauren, I FLOVED those two together and Lauren bickering with Mary...golden period Love

Sharon Case was just awesome in all the scenes. This is the Sharon I know, she's responding as Sharon, not Paris Hilton. It was glorious!

Doug D. seems like such a happy, funny person. He's very charming.

Y&R is amazing recently. I'm a little iffy about the Summer stuff, because I don't care for the actress, but other than that I think the show is great.

To every one who worries about soaps dissapearing, watch this video, CBS execs making speeches at Y&R's 40th party, although I have never forgiven them for cancelling ATWT and GL, I believe they are sincere in their support of Y&R and B&B. One guy states that 'another network' didn't support the genre and 'look at them now' which i loved!

Why does this brilliant actor not have an Emmy on his mantle by now? It's simply shameful!!! Angry Angry

@brettyboy ...A big THANK YOU & huge cyber HUG for posting this it was awesome to hear the positive feedback in this day & age of the big networks washing their hands of soap operas. As camera panned out, MS having her arm around Hunter is a sign they have a loving relationship toward each other, pointing Bill Bell Sr, Lee Phillip Bell & the queen of Genoa City Jeanne Cooper...I teared up! Sad(

Loved what Steve from Sony (not Kent) saying the "other network" ABCD! Evil and looked what happened with backlash! Love To think 3 years ago my heart was BREAKING the cancellation of GL then a year later ATWT....I watch daytime before I watch primetime, rather I dvr or online, that is the entertainment that brings me joy. Seeing PB & EB smiling talking and we know the problems those two have had in past and this shows both are pros! Smile EB gets bashed alot but I think GC would be missing something very special without the evil Victor lurking...You know what I mean Wink

I'm so glad to be a diehard CBS fan because it's a relief to know our soaps are not in danger in the near future.

Thank you, thank you Brettboy Love

CBS dude all the way.....

Y&R is back to being the best soap...and on a totally different wavelength than the rest. THOUGH, I have to say, all of daytime is really good at the moment.

I thought you were going to "slam" me, Harlee..... but the truth does hurt Smile

Bill Bell probably did a lot for CBS so they turned the other cheek, so to speak...

wish they would do that now.

I also have a list of actors who need to do a shower scene...

Billy Miller, anyone?

I truly believe he should get it this year. Was there anyone better?

I've really enjoyed the last three intros...Christian's, Sharon's and Doug's...

You can really see their love for their craft, character, and show. And since they've been around for so long, it's such a treat to see those clips. I've watched all the intros (except Billy and Daniel's) multiple times, just for memory's sake. It'd probably have been awkward, but I do wish they would mention previous actors...David Tom was fantastic in that role too.

I love the dynamic of Paul and Chavez...Chavez is such a typical smartass cop, and I love it.

Oh this is the Sharon I know and love. Sharon Case was terrific in this episode. I know that Sharon should have no business running Newman again, but I love how Josh Griffith slowly reformed this character. It lets me forget the last year a little bit.
Guess Adam being in a coma and Sharon unable to pull off running Newman with her reputation, this is how Victor's going to get the company back!?

I LOVED Jack showed up at the Ranch and then ripping into Victor. My only hope is that Nikki is somewhere near by overhearing the last dirty deals of her husband.

It maybe just me but I think Leslie turned sides a little bit too fast. For years she believed Gus murdered her mother and now after one conversation, she calls him daddy again and is desperate to get him free? It's a little bit too much, too soon.

Great to see Neil going up against Wheeler. The congressman is a great villain. I wish he would stay. LOVE Mark Pinter. He plays evil so well.

It's nice that the have lighten up the police department a little bit. And no official desk anymore that everyone just walks by. I like it.^^

Soapjunkie, I've been thinking about the Leslie turn, too. I think it was a combination of her conversation with Gus and also hearing about the flaws in the case from a fellow lawyer.

Beth Maitland posted today that she is back in Genoa City and "the weather if fine".... I bet she is talking about all of the beefcake running around over there.

Did anyone else watch the pilot episode of "The Grove"? Beth had some mighty fine dialog that would work just as well in Genoa City!!!

The GCAC.... I have a room there.... the locker room.... Smile

Good to see Doug D having such a good time. Painful to see Peter Porte as Ricky die again on screen.

Hopefully, Mark Pinter will be kept on as long as possible. I like how Mark plays Marcus, very close in actual name and character name. That doesn't happen too often.

I agree with heymon...they do need to find a way to keep him...or have him return.

I like having someone else mix it up with Vic.

MAB wasted her opp with Tucker. That character was ruined.

Wheeler is the perfect flawed character. I hear people say Jill should hook up with him, but he's married. There could be many vet soap actresses who could be that woman.

Here we go again return of dead stories are useless, old and reminders of hack MAB, Josh doesn't need Maria's leftovers but to move forward with his vision not MAB. Look at what Josh would have to try to explain on how, and Ricky already murder his past girlfriend. It could get all convulted and messy. MAB shouldn't wrote Paul's son like that in the first place and we wouldn't be in sitution today. As much as I liked PP (ah yummy)I personally don't want to see it.

Please...no... don't mention Kevin as Chelsea's baby's father. Please give Greg Rikaart a real story-line for once. Now that Lauren has gone 'there' with Carmine, maybe she and Kevin, at a later date, could pick up what they had back in 2005.

I am hoping that victor does attempt a grab at the helm of Newman but somehow jack is able to thwart his attempt which of course will reignite their epic battle.

But I have to say not only is Leslie quick turn of loyalty a lil too quick but it is poorly written to have NEIL, a business man and leader in the community, walk up to a US senator and accuse him of all he is accusing wheeler over with no true evidence other than a hunch that is being served up with only gossip.

That's my issue with this "who shot Adam but meant old man victor to be hit?" Story. There is no real development or evidence. Wheeler has been around for months spewing the same dialogue and NOT ONCE has he been UNHINGED as jack says OR should he even be closely thought of as the culprit around the shooting by paul and Chavez. There is no evidence and the simple fact that Chavez arrives in town and sees jack talking to a woman he thought was a prostitute 4 months ago makes absolutely no sense other than for a cop he spent a lot of time transfixated on that girl to IMMEDIATELY notice she was wheelers daughter in the pic.

There is no credible evidence until the dumb Newman heir nick remembers wheeler with BOB.

Don't get me wrong. I am loving the show the last week. Spot on with dialogue. I just think with the story revolving around wheeler, NOTHING has truly been fleshed out. If all this was over his daughters death, then we should have seen his wife and maybe her blaming wheeler or see him drinking himself to sleep with a pic of his daughter in his arms. OR SIMPLY not blackmailing victor n allowing jack off the handle.

I know the end to the story will deliver, I just wish the lead up was more fantastic.

(I still think that Gus did Belinda in and that this will turn out to be his revenge against wheeler for carrying an affair on with his wife. Even the death of wheelers daughter could be Gus in that he had BOB sell her drugs or he entered the Abbott manse and while jack was out cold he injected an overdose in wheelers kid while she was high. For me, the cpnclusion would be a lot more sinister and dramatic to watch)
