I’ve been watching the marathon! They are at that point in time now where they were trying to save money by turning off all the lights. EVERYTHING is happening in pitch blackness, indoors and out, at night, and you have to say “Who the BLANK is that and what are they doing?” until someone speaks and you can figure it out. I liked the older eps where there was enough money in the budgets for lightbulbs. Thank goodness eventually they found some $$$$ again so we can see what’s going on.

I have really been enjoying the Soapnet marathon. Very well done. Still get teary-eyed watching Luke and Laura dance to “fascination” at Wyndhams and their wedding. In some ways, Luke and Laura took over the show in the 80′s while vets like Steve and Audrey Hardy were pushed in the background. Sort of like how it became with Sonny, Jason and the mob with the Quartermaines getting less and less. But, I enjoyed the early Luke. Tony Geary was definetly not a soap opera leading man type (no Abs or Tan) but the way he played the role and his love for Laura made the character so popular. It’s sad how Guza destroyed the character (but Geary also wanted to play the dark side of Luke, not the hero and he did win all those Emmy’s for it). My favorite time for GH was the early Luke and Laura days and when Alan tried to kill Monica and Ric and Monica tried to pass AJ off as Ric’s sone. Watching the marathon it’s amazing how everyone has aged like us all. Loved Felicia and Frisco and Ned and Lois! Why did the couples have so much more chemistry back then? You have to give Gloria Monty a lot of credit. She was really tough but she turned the whole show around. I’m glad Frank V is trying to bring back some of that magic with all the returning vets. Oh! Tristian Rogers was some HUNK when he first came on the show. WOW!
