Isn't It About Time Daniel Gave Up on Jennifer on Days of Our Lives?

Seriously? NBC's promo department sure seems to love the snoretastic Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Daniel (Shawn Christian) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) triangle on Days of Our Lives. So many good things are happening in Salem, and yet NBC promotes the shows single worst current major storyline.

This week on DAYS, Jennifer tries to push Daniel away because of Chloe's ultimatum.  Will he give up on her? We all know he won't, though I dearly wish he would. I'd have no problem if the two rode off into the Salem sunset together. Watch the promo after the jump!

This stuff was probably taped, what, like a year ago... so they probably thought this story-line would be on fire and now it's too late to do anything about it.. What they realize NOW as a mistake will air the resolution sometime around Christmas

Let's just hope they do realize it's a mistake. TPTB at Days don't seem to give a damn about what the fans want.

Im sorry Luke but I dont see why you cant, that Daniel and Jennifer are hit, hot, hot! If they would quit having folks try to break them up and just let them BE, and have Parker, we could all be happy. I love Shawn and Melissa together, they always try to do the right thing, never manipulating or lying. Thats why Days keeps pushing them, sorry you cant see it!

I hear there's a new female Dr. Coming on board to Days, and you know Dr. Baywatch can't keep it zipped up, so I give Dannifer/Gaggifer another 4 months at best.

It's about time that Jennifer left town for good. Maybe a recast would be suitable further down the line, considering the writers can figure out what the hell to do with her. If they aren't gonna bring Jack back from the dead, I see no need for Chicken Little to remain in Salem. And her daughter, Bratigail Horton, can kick rocks with her........

This show has Hope, so they don't need Jennifer.

Frankly, I am rooting for Chloe!!! It's super declasse for Jennifer to shack up with horn-bag Dr. Jonas so soon after her beloved's death and even weirder to have her fornicating on her grandma's couch. Come on: Doesn't the good ol' doc belong with his baby mama? You know in reality that would be the case but of course this is NBC we're talking about...

So what to do with the super, plain-jane Jennifer? I say before writing her off completely, give her one more chance...Immediately break up Dr. Jonas, the holistic hippie and Jen-Jen and have Jen hit rock-bottom with a bout of depression and guilt over the loss of her beloved, Jack. And, just when she's at her lowest and most vulnerbale, have Peter DiMera show up, sweep her off her feet and then have her enter his very sinister world...Barring that, I'd send her packing as I don't quite know what to do with her...

I am in the minority and thats ok - I love Jen and Daniel - I am just tired of the other woman rehash so soon after Nicole

For me the character of Jennifer belongs in Salem and for me Jen will always be Melissa - I hate that the writers killed off Jack but it happens so I am ok with her moving on - I dont want or need my soap characters to mourn a lifetime

Tuesday's episode was very good I thought. The best part of me was Nicole & Sami snapping at each other Smile The talk btw Nicole & Vargas was spot on and liking this setup. Stefano and young lady friend, teasing Kate was great! I loved Kate & Rafe pressuring Nick. It was awesome to see Nick feel the pressure and then when he ran into Vargas, Nick's face was priceless and he's running scared. No Kirsten yesterday and a good episode.

Dannifer couldn't watch. Plain stupid.

Well this is the question du jour! You know it's a bad storyline when Chloe/
Nadia Bjorlin is the best part of it.

And as SoapArmageddon stated, I honestly don't think this regime cares what the fans think. This fest has been going on since last September - they have had plenty of time to fix the storyline. The backlash the horrible Nicole/baby EJole storyline got should have given a clear message to the producers that this needs to stop. But no, instead they just basically replaced Nicole with Chloe.

But on another note, I was glad to see a Vargas/Nick confro! I just hope they keep Vargas around, he is uber sexy and has great potential. And I'm really liking the actor, Sean Douglas! He is Michael Keaton's son. If they do keep him, I just hope they don't turn him into another "dumb hunk" á la Brady/Daniel/Rafe. I hope they keep his smart, scheming side intact. I would also love to see him be a bisexual character. I would love to see him scorch it up with Will! How hot would that be - imo Will needs a romp in the hey with a real macho man like Vargas! Laughing out loud

Days has shoved Dr Death down our throats from day one. He has yet to click with the women in Salem in any meaningful way. Usually because he ends up wanting to paint their toenails and snuggle up for a chick flick. Daniel has two things wrong with him that makes him totally unsuitable for a leading man on a soap. One is his endless fascination with his patients. The second is that he has the emotional structure of a woman. Women in Salem like their men handsome, dumb and masculine. Handsome and dumb he has in spades.

I agree with everyone but I don't think they care because if they truly got the message they wouldn't make their weekly commercials about Dannifer aka Gaggifer Tired (as someone else coined). They'd be using their TEENY TINY advertising budget to showcase their nasty villian tormenting the gay couple Crown Crown or even Eileen Davidson acting all wacky. Hat

I agree...The Promos should be evenly distributed between the delightfully whacked & very sexy Kristen DiMera and Nicky Fallon's current state of "tormenta."

Go Eileen Davidson!!!! We love her as Kristen!!!
Love Love Love Love

With regard to Jennifer, the writers seem to be trying to elicit the audience's sympathy for her because she, like most characters who are painted holier than thou, engender little sympathy. Hmmm, what to do with this character? Well, having her walk off into the sunset with Dr. Hot Pants is not turning out to be the answer judging by audience reaction. However, she is a key character on the canvas and so I can see why the Powers That Be feel her role is pivotol. That said, she's boring and only becomes interesting when she is involved with a bad boy and/or the difficult, hot guy. Thus, in order to create that necessary level of what I like to call "interesting tension" for this character, a new guy must be introduced who is opposite her lily white ideals and yet whom she will no doubt find herself drawn to despite her conscience prompting her not to taste the forbidden fruit. This is of course just one tack that could be taken, but whatever the writers ultimately decide they should do it sooner rather than later because as it stands now, the character is too boring, self-righteous and one dimensional...
