Bold and Beautiful Goes High Tech With New Interactive App

On CBS Daytime's hit drama The Bold and the Beautiful, hotshot fashion exec Thomas Forrester (Adam Gregory) is constantly talking about how his family's rags dynasty, Forrester Creations needs to modernize, if it wants to remain relevant. Something tells me Tom would approve of B&B's latest high tech collaboration with CBS.

On Monday, the Tiffany Network launched daytime's first synched, second screen experience, via the CBS Connect iPad App.  From the press release:

The app lets THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL fans dig deeper into the show’s main storylines, learn more about the Forrester, Logan and Spencer families, and discover more about the actors who portray the iconic characters.

As you watch the turgid, daily sagas of Brooke/Bill/Katie and Maya/Rick/Caroline on your local CBS affiliate, on demand or via your DVR, the CBS Connect App’s sync function will locate the exact eppy being viewed and tailor your experience. Pretty snazzy, huh?

“The release of The Bold and the Beautiful synched second screen app is exciting news for CBS Daytime and our audience,” said Angelica McDaniel, Senior Vice President, CBS Daytime. “The app marks a first for any daytime television program on network TV and, most importantly, enhances our fans’ TV-viewing experience, offering them a deeper connection with the characters and content of each episode.”

The CBS Connect App is free and available for download from the App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cbs-connect/id580706786?mt=8!

All I would love to get is a way to watch the full episodes of B&B on the iOS devices (iPad, iPhone). Can you make that happen, Angelica? CBS insists on pushing Flash technology down people's throats. Please just make ALL of your shows HTML 5 ready. All of them...please...
