General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Lucy finds Richard Simmons hiding in her closet, and the two have an epic argument.  Richard decides Lucy isn’t going back to the ball, and locks her in the closet.

Frisco proposes to Felicia, but she doesn’t accept his ring because they’re not meant to be together.  Felicia says Mac is the man for her, and always will be.  Frisco storms off.

Britt and her mother are watching the ball on television, and Britt gets upset upon seeing Sabrina sitting with Patrick and Emma.  Dr. Obrecht reminds her of what they’ve been planning for months, but Britt isn’t sure revenge will do any good.  Dr. Obrecht is sure everyone will be talking once Britt unleashes their surprise.

Sabrina tells Emma she and Milo are not together. Patrick wonders if his daughter would be happy if he and Sabrina dated.  Emma is thrilled.

Liz fills in for a missing Lucy and introduces the next act, which was to be Duke and Lucy dancing.  Duke asks Anna to step in for Lucy, and the two dance a tango.  When they’re done, Anna is over the moon.  Duke wants them to start creating new memories together.

Maxie chases after Frisco, who says coming back was a mistake, since Felicia didn’t choose him. He believes there’s nothing left for him now.  Maxie wonders where she fits in.  Maxie begs him to stay, because he loves her and she’s his daughter. However, Frisco feels she can take care of herself.  Ellie overhears Maxie talk to her father about the truth of her pregnancy.  Maxie doesn’t want to lose Frisco again, but he promises to let her know where he ends up.

Mac is glad Felicia chose him, but she wonders if he’s punishing her for taking so long to decide.  Mac worries if he can trust her feelings in the long haul, so Felicia reiterates she loves him. Then, Felicia proposes to Mac.

Liz introduces Magic Milo, which consists of Max, Milo, Michael, Anton, Spinelli and Felix performing a strip tease.  Lucy breaks out of the closet, and gets into a scuffle with Richard. The two end up on stage in their skivvies at the end of men’s performance.  The men promptly cart Richard off.

Emma tells Anna about Sabrina and Patrick.  Anna gives Patrick her approval.

Lucy thanks Noah for setting up the following act, Rick Springfield.  Rick sings "Jessie’s Girl" to the delight of the crowd.

Lucy introduces Emma and Sabrina who sing and dance to "Call Me Maybe".

Ellie spots a crying Maxie, and offers her a shoulder.  Maxie admits her father left and she should be used to it, but it’s hitting her especially hard this time.

Patrick addresses the crowd and discusses AIDS. He informs everyone of the work being done to cure the disease, and how Robin lived with it. Britt arrives, and Patrick is not happy to see her. Apparently, Britt has something to say.  Dr. Obrecht watches from the hotel room, and tells a photo of Faison he’d be proud of his daughter.

The Good:
-Rick Springfiel
-Felicia proposing to Mac
-excellent MAxie/Frisco scenes. Felt so bad for MAxie.
-Duke and Anna's tango, even though I'm an Anna/Robert girl

The Bad:
-Sabrina's song. Just made her look even younger than it should.

Everything was good today. Richard Simmons talking to people as he was being hauled away. "Tell Lesley I said hi!!!!"

Why didn't they just have Richard Simmons come back as a drag queen? Because that's exactly what he's acted like the whole time. Just WAY too much...LOL...
Frisco is an ass to leave Maxie like that, but we all know it's because JW couldn't stay.
The Magic Milo routine....I have my thoughts but I'll wait to see who mentions the obvious first..LOL
Faison as Britt's Dad? Meh...not the best choice IMO...

Lucy in her undies? Now it's OFFICIALLY a GH Nurses' Ball! My question: Why did "Frisco" sing "All I Need" while Rick Springfield sang "Jessie's Girl"? Does Jack Wagner not own the rights to his own song?

So what's Britch gonna do? Announce she's pregnant with Patrick's baby? Blow up the place? Release a toxin? Declare her undying love for Sabrina (the Patrick thing was all a ruse)? Either way, I'm tuning in tomorrow for more!

Loved it, but it does make me sad that the stage is recession era Nurses Ball.

For some reason I kept waiting for Richard Simmons to pull a Faison and rip off his face for a big reveal. Katherine Bell back from the dead. She is dead, right? I am shocked that they got away with the "out of the closet" line, especially because Richard shuts down whenever the donut and jelly comments come about on talk shows.

I was so disappointed with Maxie and Frisco. Her putting Felicia on blast at Georgie's funeral had me anxiously awaiting a similar scene with Frisco and I though maybe she would pull it out on his way out of town. Although, I guess a father -daughter dynamic is different than a mother - daughter.

Lucy better stay in town.

The best part of this thing was Richard. I have been reading other boards and people hated him but I loved it. He was so over the top and how he kept trying to go after Lucy was so funny.

When they were carrying him out and he said Hi Bobbie, tell Lesley I said hi. And when Mac and Felicia yelled they were getting married, Richard was like congratulations......on that! I thought he was so funny.

Loved Rick Springfield. HATED the boys dancing. Those were some of the unsexiest group of men ever. Felix can move. Milo is sexy but Michael, Spinelli, Max? What in the world.....Instead of Mac doing that stupid puppet thing, he should have been out there, Shawn should have been out there with Milo and Maks rounding it out. When horny Piffy started yelling is that it and wanted them to take it off, I kept screaming on my tv..KEEP IT ON!

Sabrina and Emma was not cute. Singing this song with that tween background really made Sabrina look like the 12 year old she acts like. Then when she had the nerve to sashay her behind on stage next to Patrick when Britt came up really pissed me off.

Also that was not a cute scene when Emma was like is Sabrina her daddy's girlfriend now. It also wasn't cute when she asked Anna was Duke her boyfriend now.

Kristen Storms can act her butt off. I so felt for Maxie losing her daddy. You would think those two had been playing father/daughter for years.

Elbugten, I think it's because Frisco was a singer when he was on the show. but Rick Springfield was a doctor who had never displayed singing talent. So it wouldn't have made sense for Noah to get up and sing like that.

I think Maxie has very low expectations of her Dad, so she didn't blow up the way she had at Felicia. Also that was a very emotional time for Maxie (Georgie's death) and the writers at the time were not much interested in a real Felicia comeback.

I can't wait to see AJ and Elizabeth tomorrow. Is Scotty watching Nicholas? I would have thought he'd be there to support Lucy.

My one complaint, when Britt approached the stage and Emma cowered in terror, Sabrina rushed to the stage (inappropriate in my opinion), but Anna, who can kick anyone's butt, stayed in her seat, even though she appeared concerned.

This show is SO MUCH BETTER than it used to be. I used to DVR it so I could fast forward through most of it. Now I try to watch it live, because there's not much I want to miss. (Kate/Connie scenes are good for bathroom breaks.)

I didn't focus on Sabrina at all during the "Call Me Maybe" number, because it looked and felt to me like it was designed to be a showcase for that impossibly adorable little Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma) who seemed to have more cumulative screentime than just about any other performer on today's show.

Ummm...where did Monica, Tracy, Sonny and Carly go for Day 2. All of a sudden they were missing from the audience.

I loved the whole show again...except for the glaring absence of the above mentioned people.

I can't wait for tomorrow...Britt's announcement, AJ/Liz,...I know Tracy's is doing a number from the promo... and Piph is supposed to do another one.

I also wish they could have sent Frisco on his way... in a better way...and less of a DB towards Maxie...Sick of them always trashing one of my all time favorite characters.

Emma is adorable. Pairing her with Sabrina really does highlight how young Sabrina is. Also, I really didn't appreciate GH putting that song back in my head. It was so overplayed last summer. Perhaps, it is a favorite of the little actress who plays Emma. I hope there is a reason for torturing us all with that song.

I may be misremembering but didn't Emily and Robin do a similar number back in the day on beds. I think it was Girls just want to have fun.

I enjoyed the cast involvement in Rick Springfield's song. Felicia and Mac were really grooving. Anna was enjoying herself. Even the younger actors sang along. I kind of wish Sonny's table was still there. I would have liked to see Sonny's participation as well as his reaction to Magic Milo and crew. I have to admit I am glad Carly wasn't there to watch Michael strip. It was strange enough having his grandmother watching. Spinelli was really getting in to that.

I also softened a little to Max from DWTS. He was dancing with Spinelli. The thing I always disliked about him was his arrogance. It is nice to see a fun side.

Richard Simmons' return is nice because he is part of GH's history but I am glad that is over. He is odd.

I hope Frisco is gone for good. Maxie got her little heart trampled there. He is such a douche. He told that poor girl that he had no reason to stay in Port Charles. What a jerk!!! Please let them bring Georgie back for her!!!

I love Mac. He deserves a better acting partner than KW. Eh!!

The whole Brit biz is bad. I have a bad feeling about her plan.

Can't wait to see what Brit is going to say. Liked today's episode and all the performances except for Magic Milo which could have used some different guys. I liked their choice of music, however.(RIP Rick James). I thought Emma and Sabrina were cute in their performances. That little Emma is adorable.

The Magic Milo number had me ROTFLOL. Kind of reminded me of the scene in Boy Meets World when Alan Shawn Eric Feeny and Cory danced to Hot Stuff.

stefanstavros--By all means, share your thoughts about the Magic Milo dance. I re-watched it hoping that I could figure out what you were referring to, but alas, I still missed it. If you don't want to spell it out directly, at least give us a clue by pinpointing the minute mark on this link so that we can enjoy it too.

There wasn't a thing I didn't like about today's episode. I thought it all fell together perfectly.

As much as I loved Frisco and Felicia's trip down memory lane, I'm glad that she chose Mac. I've really enjoyed the way Krstina Wagner played these scenes because I relate to her so much. I think most of us have that *one* person from our past who makes us wonder how different our lives would be if they were still in it.

I agree that Frisco is a little douchey to cut out on Maxie the way he is, but we all knew it was gonna happen. My one conciliation is that JW and KS worked really well together, and acting along side Wagner, Storms turned in some of her best performances in months. She was excellent today, and when Maxie hugged Frisco, I got a little choked up and thought "she got some of her father back, anyway."

I'm a Robert & Anna fan, so I've stubbornly clung to my hope that RC and FV would bring Tristan Rogers back so that I can have the story I want. Such is not the case, apparently; at least not now. Up until today, GH didn't give me a reason to let go of that or embrace Duke & Anna. It's funny what a beautiful tango can do to change one's opinion however, because today I finally saw some of the chemistry in Duke & Anna that I need to move on. They were breathtaking together--and twice in one episode, I was reduced to tears.

Was I disappointed that Faison was chosen to be Britt's father? I don't know. I guess I hoped that they would do what I thought was an easy two-fer and make Sam and Britt sisters. THAT would have been brilliant. But I don't want icky Faison to be Sam's father.

They can step Felix up any time now and give him a back story and a lover. Marc Samuel is excellent all the way around. By now, everyone has caught on to the fact that he is a Dubois. I would love it if they would recast Toussaint and give Felix a fractious relationship with his father or uncle.

A couple of ADD moments: I'm fascinated by the color of Liz's dress. In some lights it looks very red, and in others it's a beautiful coral. Oh, and I want one of those robes that are embossed with the Metro Court logo.

I am disappointed by the choice of Faison as Brit's father. We are to accept that Dr. Evil would assist him in wooing another woman? She doesn't seem like the type.
Making Britt Jerry's daughter would have been so much more interesting. It would explain why Dr. Evil took Robin to him and would make Britt a Jacks!

And that was not not Magic Milo's show. It was more like Spin the Magic!

@starvos...please let us know what you are talking about. I rewatched the dance scene (as hard as it was for me to do so)but I didn't notice anything

Too bad that song, Accidental Racist didn't come out until now. I would love to hear TJ rapping the LL Cool J part and Spinelli singing Brad P. part. As bad as that song it, that would have been hilarious.

Have loved everything about the Nurse's Ball.

Don't get all the negativity here about Sabrina.
She's a soap staple, the "ugly" duckling who blossoms
& a nice contrast to evil Britt.

Most touching moments:

Maxie getting her heart broken (again) by Frisco.
He was going to leave without even saying good-bye.

Anything with Emma. Hope they don't SORAS her anytime soon.

I thought Richard Simmons was a bit over-the-top but he is part of GH's past so I over-looked the silliness of it all. The Milo/Guys dance routine really wasn't appropiate for a Nurses Ball but I did find it amusing. I liked that they also included guys like Max, Spinelli and Felix, that aren't exactly Mr. Perfect ABS. Cartini does love to display their guys, (I remember on OLTL, David Vickers always walked around half- naked, but he was so funny, and those awful Ford Brothers-all ABS- no talent!). I noticed since Cartini took over we are seeing ALOT more of Milo!! He's in great shape! But all the soaps seem to like to parade around their shirtless guys with the big abs (even Steve Burton took his shirt off on Y& R and you can see he's been working out). So I guess GH is just following the trend. I, for one, prefer a guy who's not so perfect. My husband is tall, thin, and starting to lose his hair but I prefer him over a guy with perfect abs and spray-painted tan anyday. Those perfect guys usually have huge egos! Bradford A can really sing and dance well!
Best part was Rick Springfield. I love "Jessie's Girl", brought me back to the 80's and I was singing along. Rick still sounds great!!! My heart went out to Maxie. She must feel her Dad used her to get to Felicia. But with Jack W. not staying on the show they had to end it and let's face it they had to show that Frisco is and always has been out for himself that he was gone for years. Emma is just so cute! I think they wrote that number just for her, even though it made Sabrina look like a teenager.
So, Britt may be pregnant? Yuck! That story has been done so many times. In a lot of ways it doesn't make sense that Faison is her Dad. Why would her mother then help Faison (she's either his wife or just a lover), try to win back Anna?
I think the reason we don't see Carly, Brenda and Tracy everyday is again, Frank V. keeping down the cost and trying to keep the show under budget. I read Carolyn H."s column in Soap Opera Digest and even she says the days of big weddings and seeing the whole cast at events (like The Nurses Ball) are gone. So, I try not to analyze the show too much because it has been so entertaining lately. It's not perfect, but I don't think any of the soaps are. But it is so much better then it was 2 years ago.
Are Liz and AJ suppose to do a number? Hope so. They are a nice-looking couple. And isn't Epiphany and Monica and Tracy suppose to do something?

Angelwendy...Rick Springfield sounds great because that was the original recording of Jessie's Girl. He was lip-synching. I've heard him sing his new stuff on other shows and his voice isn't as good any more.

90% good comments on yesterday's episode.

I ACTUALLY LIKED IT. I REALLY REALLY LIKED IT. I find Richard Simmons to be humorous and a great nod to the history of Port Charles! Wish he had more scenes with Bobby then just passing her by as his being carried out by 6 very good looking men but that's just so they could talk more about the show's history and even tell us about Leslie.

I enjoyed the dance routine with ALL the men and enjoyed the fun of the number! I like Ephiphany in the back begging for more reveal!

Finally, Felicia strapped on a set of balls and told Frisco that Mac was her man! Loved it!!! I have been screaming at my tv in vain, I guess. Still thought it should have been in the beginning and the true storyline with Frisco been his rebuilding his relationship with Maxie. One blackmail scene with Britt was not enough to make me forget that he dumped his 2 daughters, didn't return for Georgie's funeral or even for Maxie's murder trial. Wish it had more to do with that history. But Kristin Storm delivered with her "I just want my dad" scenes. I welled up.

If they had done this story with Frisco coming back to rebuild his relationship with Maxie, he could have easily been jetted off because of discovering Britt's secret and threatening to take her down. THen in true evil fashion, Britt makes a call to someone and we see Frisco being kidnapped. Maxie would be 'abandoned' again. (To me that's more dramatic)

I even liked the Sabrina and Emma scenes. I didn't think that it showed Sabrina too juvenile because she is just a kid. I'm not sure but I am hoping they are saying she is only around 25 to explain her immaturity with Patrick and her crush. I don't think she should be with Patrick.

EMMA is one of the cutest little girls on DAYTIME!!! I just think she's adorable!!

My biggest disappointment with the episode was the over the top story of Dr Evil, Britt and the reveal her father is Faison. It was such a short sighted connection to ultimate evil that it puts Brit in league with the Casadines and even her father Faison. The character has absolutely no friends in Port Charles and no matter how much redeeming they try with her the character will be cartoonishly evil. Since she was the on;y one who arrived IN THE HOTEL where she was staying in a fur coat, she's pregnant. GUARANTEED. And I can guarantee that the pregnancy will be revealed to be a fake.

Overall, I give the episode a B+ for fun, nostalgia and romance. For drama, it was weak.

This episode left with me one question... how on earth has Finola Hughes not aged a day since 1985?

I agree. The actress has aged like a real woman without surgery or enhancements! She is still very young to me and I give her kudos on many things! She's 53

The same can be said of Laura Wright who is 42 and Kristina Wagner is 49. Both woman look amazing and beautiful!

And Jane Elliot, who is 66! 66 people, looks beautiful for being so young!

All are beautifully aging women!

I'm okay with Felicia choosing Mac. I kind of guessed that was the way they were going to go, since JW wasn't staying on. I hope this means Kristina Wagner is staying on as recurring, at least. In my opinion she has relly brought out her A game these last few weeks. I can really feel Felicia's pain and anxiety. Loved her proposing to Mac. Frisco leving is in character.

So, will Ellie now start to find out about the baby?

Dr. O is fierce. Loved her commenting on Rick Springfield's act being the only thing worth watching, lol. Britt looked great. Wonder what the big announcement will be. I agree that Sabrina coming on to the stage was highly inapproriate.

Faison being Britt's daddy was a good choice. Not very surprising, but it fits her. Devil's spawn.

Sabrina & Emma's act was barf-inducing. The song is disgusting in itself, and this did not make it better. It clearly showed that Sabrina and Emma are peers, not Sabrina and Patrick. It was so bad, it was almost as if done on purpose. As if it was RC's way of making a wink wink nudge nudge.

"Jessie's Girl" sounded fantastic. Love Rick Springfield.

The dancing men act was nice. I was surprised to see how good Spinelli was, Michael was actually worse than him, lol. Felix was a natural, not surprisingly. I enjoyed the show, but I don't know whether all the striptease was necessary. I'm not sure if it was approriate for the nature of the event.

Loved the part of Maks and Spinelli dancing, Maks as the most manliest of the bunch and Spin as the less manliest (well Michael is the twinkiest, really) it fitted good. Felt natural for some reason Laughing out loud

Loved Lucy ending up to the stage in her underwear though. So traditional! Laughing out loud

Richard Simmons is just way over the top. I did love the shoutout to Lesley though!

My prediction on Britt is that she used up one of Lante's eggs and impregnated herself and will pass it off as Patrick's. I'm just not sure I remember when the two slept together to see if it would work, time wise.

Magic Milo: Max's underpants were hanging out on top of his pants for most of the song and it icked me out.

I don't think Jerry Jackes could have biologically been Britt's dad. She looks like she's at least 30 and he's around 50. He would have been too young. Faison makes sense if they were so desperate to tie Britt to someone, but I agree that it's weird to think of Dr O helping him with his obsession with Anna. And can we give Dr O a first name, I'm tired of writing DR Olbrecht all the time!

I thought the Richard Simmons stuff was over the top, and I loved it. A soap should have a little bit of everything, and GH certainly has that these days. I am so glad Felicia chose Mac, and sent Frisco packing, and I wish Maxie would have told him off.

One thing I think fans need to remember is that Frank and Ron are dealing with an incredibly tight budget. I was thinking about it while I watched yesterday's episode. No Carly, Tracy, Sonny, Monica, Brenda, etc but that would have added $30,000 probably for them to be sitting in the audience, as this episode wasn't about them. While the little continuity breaks bother me a bit too, I know the realities they are dealing with. I think they do an amazing job for the limited resources they have, and I would much rather than spend their money on vets being on GH some of the time than special effects (which is what JFP used to like to put a lot of money toward).

tmac- you are right. I watched the show again on Soapnet and it was the original recording of Rick Springfield singing "Jessie's Girl' and he was lip-synching. But, I still enjoyed it. Brought me back to the Crazy 80's and I was singing along.
PJC722- Agree about the actresses on the show. Finola looks fantastic, as does Lynn Herring and they are both in their mid 50's. Genie F. looks great too and Kristina Wagner still looks young, and Jane Elliot looks great in her 60's. When they bring them up close you can see wrinkles around the eyes and forehead but they still look fabulous and " Natural" for their ages. I love Jackie Z. and Leslie C. but they both over did (especially Jackie) the plastic surgery. Jackie can barely smile normally anymore. It's sad because they both were such beautiful women, now they look so plastic (I can never understand how these celebrities don't see themselves like we do, that they look like mannequins after all that surgery). Sometimes you just have to accept getting old.

What does Jack Wagner owning the rights to his song have to do with anything? Frisco just happened to sing a Jack Wagner song. He could have sang anyone's song but "All I Need" actually fit into the storyline. Also, didn't someone say to "Rick Springfield" that they never noticed how much you (Noah Drake) looks like Rick Springfield.

I thought it was a superb episode, all nit picks aside. Obviously not everyone can be in the episode even if it would make sense for them to be. Glad to see Frisco go, wish he would have taken Felicia with him. Duke and Anna are such a handsome couple, would love for them to be the stable couple of the show. Looking forward to Monica, Tracy and Epiphanny's disco number.
