HomeTVDr. Oz‘Steve Harvey’ Beats ‘Katie’ in Nielsens Week of March 31 Jamey Giddens April 13, 2013 1 Comment The good news for NBC Universal is, their freshman talker Steve Harvey beat Disney-ABC's Katie in the Nielsens for the first time ever, the week ending March 31. The bad news is, Katie was in repeats for three out of five shows that week. Approximately 2.12 million people watched Steve Harvey the week in question, compared to the 2.05 million who tuned in for The Perky One. Steve Harvey also led freshman talk shows among key demos. Even with its impressive gains, funnyman Steve Harvey's self-titled gabber was no match for veteran emotional porn peddler Dr. Phil. The CBS Television Distribution vehicle grew a whopping 17 percent over the previous ratings cycle, for a 2.8 in households. Disney-ABC's Live With Kelly and Michael, Sony's Dr. Oz, Warner Bros.' Ellen (in repeats all week) and Maury rounded out the remaining top five syndie talk shows for the week in question.
