HomeTVDallasDallas to Drill For Oil and Drama For a Third Season on TNT Luke Kerr April 30, 2013 15 Comments Fantastic news for fans of TNT’s Dallas. The cable network announced it has renewed Dallas for a 15-episode third season. Season 3 will kick off in early 2014. "Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.'s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted." 15 Responses soapjunkie88 April 30, 2013 Fantastic news. I think they should return with season three not before summer 2014. It’d be better to not run in the regular TV season. Like the 1st season did. Log in to Reply keanna April 30, 2013 Great news, I think early 2014 is what they’re aiming for seems like a long time, but I read Josh Henderson is doing a movie over the summer, and I think the way cable film their shows are different than network shows. Log in to Reply pferrando April 30, 2013 2013 continues to be the year of the soaps! Congrats to TNT and the cast of Dallas! Log in to Reply LizzieVee April 30, 2013 Oh, yeah!!!! I think it should have a summer run like the first season where it was a ratings winner. There was too much competition the second season when it was running against the network shows. Love, love this show!! And that scoundral, John Ross already cheating on his wife. Like father, like son! Log in to Reply AbercrombieMike April 30, 2013 I think a summer season is best as well. Dallas did so well Summer 2012 because it didn’t have as much competition. The best summer cable shows (Sex & The City, etc) all aired in the summer. I’ll still watch next January, but I think this is a mistake. Just my opinion! Log in to Reply bobbyew April 30, 2013 YES YES YES, I can’t wait to see Elena bring the cartel to kill the Ewings. Log in to Reply TV Gord May 1, 2013 I’m very happy to see this! Any word on Monday Mornings, the David E. Kelley/Sanjay Gupta show that followed on Monday nights this season? Log in to Reply GHFan777 May 1, 2013 I am very happy to hear this news. I love this show. Log in to Reply GHFan777 May 1, 2013 DP Log in to Reply logan_echolls May 1, 2013 It would be crazy for them to return in 2014 in January. Look at the rating from this year. It was too low and that’s because it was competing with shows like The Voice and stuff. Wait until Summer of 2014. It can work. Other TNT shows have done it. Look at The Closer. Please wait TNT Log in to Reply Duchess May 1, 2013 Great news!!! I’m glad we only have to wait until winter because 14 months would have been way too long. From what I’ve seen online a lot of people said they would have lost interest by then. Their mistake was not holding it back til summer this year or doing a split season starting in January and ending with JR’s murder then picking back up in the summer with the remaining episodes. But the show was still their highest rated in the winter and huge internationally too. I’m thrilled it’s coming back so that last awful scene with John Ross and Emma won’t be the last scene of the show. It’s a couple weeks later and I still have a sour taste in my mouth from that scene. Can’t wait to see John Ross and Pamela being married and hope she kicks his cute behind for cheating on her They are definitely the best part of Dallas. Josh H. and Julie G. were the breakouts this year so I’m guessing they’ll be leading the show next year. Can’t wait! Log in to Reply Amtronic May 10, 2013 Looking forward to the next season. I just hope the anorexic girl eats a sandwich before season 3 starts — I can’t stand to watch her. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
