General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Michael arrives at the Quartermaine mansion to speak to AJ. He's concerned because AJ hasn’t answered any of Michael’s calls.  Monica remembers AJ's actions from the prior evening, and almost spills the beans to Michael. However, she tells Michael that Liz stopped by and made up with AJ.  Monica makes a comment about Carly, and then apologizes to Michael.  Michael tells her not to worry, since AJ and Carly can’t stand to be in the same room together.

Carly’s phone rings, and she sees it’s Liz. However, AJ stops her before she answers, because she has his phone by mistake.  The two argue about their tryst, and AJ wants nothing more to do with Carly, since Liz is giving him a second chance.  Carly points out Liz is always making bad choices with men. AJ wonders how she can be so negative about the woman who saved Joss’ life.  Carly figures she owes Liz, and should warn her away from AJ.  AJ tells her not to mess things up for him.  After he leaves, Carly notices 11 missed calls from Sonny.

Sabrina tells Felix that Britt didn’t have the abortion, and she and Patrick agreed to co-parent.  Felix thinks the whole thing was all an act. He feels Britt never intended on going through with the procedure.  Sabrina doesn’t believe it, but Felix is certain.

Britt complains of morning sickness, and heads off to the washroom.  Liz is surprised Britt kept the baby, and Patrick informs her Britt changed her mind. Patrick explains he doesn’t want the baby to feel unwanted like Matt did, so he’s going to be a good father.  He asks Liz to check on Britt, and Liz returns with bad news. Something is wrong with Britt and the baby.

Olivia visits with Johnny to make sure he’s telling the truth about Morgan, and not setting Sonny up.  Johnny swears he’s telling the truth. Olivia doesn’t want to see Sonny hurt, and Johnny wonders why she’s so concerned.  Olivia feels Sonny has had a hard time lately, and she’s only showing friendly concern for him.

Sonny wants the university dean to open Morgan’s door, in order to find clues on Morgan’s possible whereabouts.  The dean swears they’ve been discreet about Morgan’s true paternity, so Sonny shouldn’t be there making a scene.  He knows there is no evidence of a gambling ring.  Sonny insists he open the door. When he does, Morgan’s roommate Travis is inside with a gun.

Tracy tells Nikolas that AJ managed to book the relish on The Chew, and get national exposure. She wants Nik’s help in making sure AJ is stopped. Nikolas thinks they should be booked on the show instead.  Nik feels they have the better relish, but the name must change. Tracy admits the name is bad, and has thought of a new one, Pickle Eddie. Tracy thinks the new name will keep the brand in the family.  Tracy convinces Nikolas to call the network. He tries to get AJ bumped, but manages to book them on for a surprise taste off in the end.

Michael tells AJ they are booked on The Chew tomorrow, and the relish is ready. Monica tells AJ to take Liz to New York.

The dean wants to call the police on Sonny, but he points out the university will suffer a PR nightmare when news of the gambling ring comes to light.  Travis explains they were winning at first, and then things went bad. They owe 50 thousand dollars, so Morgan ran.

Carly listens to her message, and hears Sonny tell her something is wrong with Morgan.  She calls Sonny, who explains everything.  He informs her Morgan took off, but he is going to find him.  Carly wants to join him, but Sonny tells her to stay home in case Morgan shows up.

Patrick wants to run tests on Britt to see if there’s something wrong with the baby. Britt asks Liz for advice, since she’s been pregnant so often.  Liz is not amused.

AJ drops by the hospital, and asks Liz to go to New York with him.

Michael tells Carly he’s going to New York with AJ.  She asks if he’s heard from Morgan.

Felix tells Sabrina that Britt is doing this to tie Patrick in knots.  Patrick asks Sabrina to keep an eye on Britt.  Sabrina accuses Britt of faking her sudden sickness, and believes she’s playing Patrick. Patrick returns to the room, and wonders why Sabrina is yelling at Britt.

Jeez. RC is giving me whiplash. AJ went from being serious about his second chance with Liz while the two were at Jake's at the end of March to making lewd comments in May to Carly about their ONS. Damn.

Dear AJ, when your mother has to suggest asking the woman (Liz) that you whined about to Carly on a trip to NY then you really need to end the relationship.

Sonny with his little self is a big fat ass hole. I really want AJ (who is currently in my sh*t house) to kick his butt all over Port Charles. It does not make sense that AJ can't beat the crap out of Sonny. Oh, and Sean sure is the new black Jason (RME).

Sigh. Olivia is so going to be swapping spit with Sonny. Sick

Johnny/BB is such a nice looking guy, it's too bad that his character was given the RC special. I guess we should be glad that Johnny did not go all cray cray as he kidnapped a baby and stabbed a few people on his way to prison.

Awe. I really enjoy Liz and Patrick's friendship.

Felix needs his own life and boyfriend!

Team Britta for the win! I hope she's able to scam Sabrina and even Patrick until her crazy parents come to town.

Nik needs a haircut, but he sure was rocking those pants and shirt! I could even ship Nik and Tracy, if Nik had not spent a year banging Brooklyn. Wink

I was never a fan of Michael until he started working with AJ/SK.

AJ will never beat Sonny in fight because it would upset the status quo. If a mob boss lost a fight to a rich, drunk like AJ, Sonny's enemies would pounce on him like a pack of lions on a baby deer. It's ridiculous AJ isn't allowed to throw a punch even though he has boxing training.

The dynamic between Sonny and AJ doesn't work as well without Jason to stand in as a surrogate for Sonny. Anybody could see Jason working over AJ, but a real fight between AJ and Sonny would be a more even match up.

AJ is terrible at romantic relationships. His last real relationship was with Hannah back in early 00s. He wanted to trade Courtney for Michael before falling in love with her. Lydia was a cheap fling. He's been circling Liz for at least four months, and he's only gone one date and kissed Liz twice. We're watching a grown man as he stumbles around like an 8th grader pining over the hottest girl in his class.

The Dean at Vanderbilt is an idiot. Of course, it's better to consent to let armed men interrogated a student with your consent than to expose a gambling ring on campus. Vanderbilt isn't responsible if some of its students are degenerate gamblers.

Britt versus Sabrina is such a gross mismatch. Britt will keep outmaneuvering Sabrina, so it's not worth caring about.

Did Port Charles magically get transplanted to a different state? Of course I'm being sarcastic, but Michael mentioned flying to NY in two separate scenes. I realize he was talking about NYC and that it is totally legit to fly from city to city in the same state (rare in real life), but the way he delivered his lines, he acted like he was flying from coast to coast. Am I the only one who noticed this?

Why is AJ such a whiny momma's boy wimp? I think part of the main reason I dislike the return of AJ is because he has the confidence of a 10 yr shy boy. Monica props him up in his love life and dealing with Tracey and michael props him up in business.

Why on earth did Carly sleep with him? Hello... She's gonna be pregnant because it will cause drama for AJ with Liz.

As much as I enjoy Felix, this damn nurse queen is a big ole busy body!!! Patrick's life is even less his concern than it is Sabrina's right now. Sure Sabrina dislikes britt becuase of what she's done to her but both Sabrina and Felix need more to do than discuss britt and Sabrina's 2 week old dating life with Patrick. Honestly it's 2 weeks old!!

Great! Sonny gets to pull it out of his pants again and flash it around!! Can't we just have a phone call from the university to Carly from Morgan where he tells mom I got a girl pregnant and Carly goes into mom mode? Or something a little less mobster-esque? Morgan was the smart kid in the Corinthian batch!

I hope Liz says NO to NYC. I have a job and kids at home. I can't just pick up willy billy and fly away the next day.

But the episode was entertaining even if I find more holes in the story than Swiss cheese or AJ's head.

Am I the only one who's disturbed at how involved Monica is in AJ's love life? She got so excited when she found out AJ wanted Liz and then was even telling AJ that she hoped he'd win her over Nikolas. Hello, Nik was her son-in-law for several years! She acted like he was something she'd scraped off her shoe! I half expect Monica to sit on the edge of AJ's bed and coach him through sex with Liz, too. "A little to the left, down more, faster" etc. ENOUGH!

Since when has Morgan been at Vanderbilt? I thought he was at summer camp all this time?

Proteus99 I live in Upstate NY. It IS possible to fly from say Buffalo to NYC, which would be opposite ends of the state, but it's an hour flight, tops. Most of the flying time is taking off and landing; it's that quick. Most people drive or take the train, which would probably take about 8 hours from Buffalo. I've always considered Port Charles, NY to be near Rochester, which would be about 6.5 hours.

Your AJ/Liz comments remind me of Liz/Ewen. Do you remember Ewen? Liz and Ewen had one date and one kiss after sniffing around each other for five months!

Patrick/Sabrina are suppose to be a couple, but have not been on a date and only kissed twice.

AJ should have returned to town a stronger character who was more than capable of dealing with Sonny & Carly.

I like characters that just make a lot of mistakes in life, making the wrong choices time after time. That is what is called being human. For all the flaws that exist, it means the journey of redemption is all the more cathartic for us as an audience. In soaps, that redemption is the proverbial dangling carrot.

This is why I enjoy Kanan's AJ. In fact, AJ might be one of my favourite characters in a soap. The fact that he keeps getting paired with Wright's Carly makes it more recognizably flawed (a la Buffy and Spike from Whedon's Buffy series).

I really, really enjoy Laura Wright on screen. The best way I can describe it is by saying Wright is the blue meth to Carlivati's Heisenberg. He just keeps on cooking something so dynamic and recognizably sublime.

I love how the creative types are juggling the stories in GH. They're true artists of day time. HOWEVER, I'll admit that I feel like they have written themselves into a corner with the role of Sabrina. All the character can be now is two dimensional, with no ties to any other storylines or characters. We just have to see through the Drake-Britch-Sabrina (tiresome) triangle and trust that Carlivati's writing team will push her into new circles and develop the character further in the show. As a member of their audience, I trust that the show will make great entertainment.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that I like what is going on with the character of Sonny. I'm glad the creative team is giving him something in his wheel house (read: something more gangsta).

@liason4real

I remember Ewen Keenan. He was a capable of committing felonies with ease but not able to talk to Liz without blushing.

As strange as this is going to sound, the writers don't seem to know what to do with AJ. He's not a cartoon villian anymore, or a heroic type like Jax. Liz was thrown into his path because she wasn't doing anything, and Carly is in his orbit due to Todd's exit.

AJ needs to show a backbone. He needs to woo Liz and passively taunt Nikolas. Nikolas, I couldn't understand you. Could you please stop mumbling? AJ is going to have to fight for what he wants, so he might as well set the tone and attack. No one is going to give him anything.

Excellent post!

AJ is the new Todd with his smirk, wise cracks and jokes around Carly, Michael, Sonny and Brenda.

AJ should have come back to town a stronger man and not a whipping boy for Sonny or Carly. As for AJ wooing Liz, he has to be dipped in antibiotics first!

I really liked Ewen and thought he should have either been a Jack's or Mac's son.

When you get your face done you gotta get your neck and upper chest area tightened up too if you are going to wear low cut tops. Because I am sorry but I can see them wrinkles and it does not look good. On the other hand things may be looking up for the show.

Well...thankfully I am no longer on the Quiz/Niz fence. I don't want AJ anywhere near my girl Liz, after watching him the past few days. All the work the writers put into making him a better person since his return, is now officially down the drain. He is disgusting with his leers, innuendos, and cockiness, after having sex with Carly. It is almost like he is proud of what he did. Personally...I don't understand hate sex...I have always thought sex was better if you were at least attracted to the other person, or had feelings for them. Silly me...I have always preferred love and romance over bickering and insults.

Now I have no respect for AJ, and I can't wait for Tracy and Nik to take him down. AND as for Carly...I have never liked her in the past....but as far as I am concerned, she has successfully defending her title of "Town Slut". She can't be that hard up for sex, ...I mean ....LOL...she kept wiping herself with germ disinfectant...she really must find him repulsive to do that...The writers dropped the ball on this storyline. There really was no real build up to justify them doing this...I feel it was a very forced plot point...Anyway Liz...take the prince instead...He at least really cares for you...forget about that deadbeat Lucky's feelings. He isn't worth it.

I do have a confession...I am looking forward to watching the scenes on The Chew....something tells me they are going to be hysterical.

Oh and I am rooting for Britt...Sabrina gets more annoying by the day...and if Ellie doesn't tell Spinelli...I am done with her too.

I actually do too. I find the flawed characters to be more interesting especially if you get the right actor to play them. A character like AJ or Carly, despite their numerous mistakes, its something that makes you love them. It's like you take that ride with them on the road to redemption. Sometimes they progress, sometimes they regress but all in all the trip you take with them is fun.

I think after being hidden away from his family for all these years and isolated from his son, AJ is just a little giddy on life. I think most of his reactions have been understandable and I'm willing to enjoy his assimilation back into Port Charles. And it's not like people aren't confronting him (Carly, Tracy) with what a screw-up he's been. Why would we expect him to come back stronger, when he was in hiding, fearing his own killer-for-hire brother?

I was a bit put off by Laura trying to protect (undeservedly) Lucky at Nicholas' expense. Why does Lucky deserve anyone's support? And since we're not really expecting him back, why do we keep bringing him up?

I liked NuLulu at first, but now she's quickly become whiny and selfish. Get to a doctor. It's as if she doesn't care her memory is gone. And c'mon Milo, back off.

As annoying as Sabrina was before, she's even more annoying now. But I'm not on Team Britt either, since she really is a manipulative liar.

It was important to me that Carlivati give Laura a POV about Niz & Lucky. IMO, it would have been very OOC if she didn't have something to say about the matter, or if she blithely disregarded Lucky's feelings just because he's not around right now.

From where I sit, Laura was simply trying to balance the emotional needs of both her sons by responding in a way that many mothers would. I don't think she put Lucky's needs above Nik's; not in this case, anyway. By the same token though, Laura should put her foot up Lucky's behind for neglecting his children.

Most of the mothers that I know haven't stopped lecturing to their children about morality just because they're of age; not about the big stuff, at least.

I'm happy to enjoy Niz because it's a soap relationship. However, if something like this happened to my family IRL, you'd hear more than egos crunching under my feet, on that you can bet. And again, I'm more than happy to forgive Liz because she's a soap character, but no daughter-in-law would come in between two sons of mine without hearing from me.

Not only is Laura being very gracious about Liz, she gave Nik sound advice--not that I want him to take it of course, because this is a soap and Liz & Nikolas are HOT!

It is a bit strange that Monica is so involved in her grown son's love life. But then, AJ was away from her for so long and he was always treated as the black sheep of the family compared to golden boy Jason (who was a hitman-Ha!). And she lost so many loved ones in her life, Alan, Emily , Lila, Edward and Jason so it's understandable that she is a bit of an over-bearing mother. And, it gives Monica FINALLY some type of storyline.
The AJ/Carly scenes crack me up. They hate each other desperately, yet there is something the way they look at each other that shows heat.
Finally Monday some scenes with Laura and Scotty. The Pickle Lila showdown on The Chew show on GH should be funny. Glad Nic is involved and getting some story and I'm sure there will be Nic/Liz/AJ confrontations. Was watching the old Elvis Presley movie "Change Of Habit". I did not realize Jane Elliot was in the film. She always had a pretty face and has aged very well, and with no plastic surgery. Good genes!

Angst=soaps. When FrankenRon first came here the show was a great change. Now we get returns. More Carley, more Sonny , black Jason.I hated Jason and now I hate Black Jason. With him trying to push Rafe out of TJ and Molly's life, and now pulling a gun on a kid in a college dorm room???Olivia shut up. Johnny is to good for you. Olivia makes me sick. Just like Johnny told her you didn't want him near your son,and you were right he shot him and then the whole family committed perjury???
How fst the writers can make you shake your head in disbeliefe at the way the characters turn on a dime. AJ Billy Warlocks AJ that is, was not the least bit afraid of scummy. He fought to the death, to get his son away from the mob.ster mumbles. What do we get AJ who has done karate falls to Scummy not once but twice. GMAFB. Anyone remember the karete kid movie?
I like Liz Nick, AJ I am waiting , carley is pregnant. You know it anyone who has ever watched a soap think about sex you are pregnant. get married to the one you love want babies you are steril! FrankenRon are writing OLTL 11. I have watched a lot of o.l on soapnet ..They are going from a much improved GH to boring me to death been there ,done that!!!
