Brooke, You Can Run, but You Can't Hide on The Bold and the Beautiful!

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was in disbelief over the doctor's news that she is pregnant. I’m confused as to what kind of doctor drops tests results on her patient at a charity event.  While Brooke learned she is carrying the latest Spencer child, Katie (Heather Tom) and Bill (Don Diamont) rekindled their love at Spencer.  They wondered how Caroline’s charity event went. Bill knew Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) knocked it out of the park, simply because her last name is Spencer.

Caroline and Rick (Jacob Young) were coming off the high of the very successful charity event.  She informed Rick that his and the Forrester men’s abs helped her raise $100,000.  I truly find the amount amazing, since she threw that thing together in a day and a half. Most charity events take months and months of planning, and could only hope to raise a fraction of those earnings.  Rick and Caroline settled in for a serious talk about their relationship, and the snotty Caroline we’ve come to love went away.  Caroline wanted things to be better with her and Rick.  Caroline asked if she could fix whatever went wrong, and mentioned how things have changed since Maya entered their lives. He tried to explain about him and Maya, but Caroline fast talked her way around Rick telling her how he feels about Maya (Karla Mosley).

Maya bumped into a still semi-shirtless Carter, and congratulated him on a job well done on the runway.  He asked her to help him button up, and she was fine –as are all of us – with his shirt staying unbuttoned.  Carter advised Maya not to worry about Rick and Caroline.  He can tell  Maya is “old-fashioned”, and he’s willing to pursue her. However, he’s not waiting around forever, and sees the connection she has with Rick.

Brooke’s doctor explained her menopause is still happening, but it’s just beginning. She is definitely with child.  They even ran the test twice to be sure.  The good doctor pointed out late in life pregnancies can be joyful, and wanted Brooke to come in for her first prenatal visit in a few weeks.  Brooke couldn’t handle the news of the pregnancy, as the memories overwhelmed her. She ran out of the room for air.  Finally, I found some common ground with Brooke Logan; all those flashbacks usually send me running too.

Katie apologized, yet again, to the man who impregnated her sister.  Bill declared to his wife that nothing can tear their family apart.  Be careful what you promise, Stallion.  Katie thanked Bill for their day together, and left the office. As she drove past the event, she saw Brooke running outside.  Katie ran up to Brooke, and asked what was wrong.  How will Brooke twist this one?

Ms. Kelly Langs waterworks. I don't care what anyone says this show is the shit. It has the soap music, great sets and good acting for 25 minutes. Bell's keep it up and forget the haters.

OK I've lost all interest in the Caroline/Rick/Maya triangle.

Brooke getting pregnant at her age is a bit ridiculous but what was the deal with her running down the street in those heels? Did she think all that running was going to make her unpregnant?

I already erased today's episode but it looked like Brooke was running through LA's Pan Pacific Park. If that's true, she was a hop, skip, and a jump from Dayzee's Coffee Shop, which is located next door to Milk Yogurt shop at 7290 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90036. So maybe she was headed for coffee?

Oh I should mention that Dayzee's Coffee Shop still has the old Insomnia name on the front, located at 7286 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles. Just in case anyone goes looking for it:)

So after Brooke has a child with her son in law, she has a child with her brother in law?

I love Brooke..and I love her as a sexy homewrecker...but why bring a child into the picture?

On soaps, a child is a consequence of something done wrong. Why waste the sexy goodness that is Brooke with a moral story???

This episode was great. Classic B&B, and classic Brooke. I'm glad they have stripped (literally) the matriarch title off of her and given her back her slutty ways.

All the flashbacks with Bill reminded me so much of Brooke & Deacon back in the day. It was just a scandalous. It was a bit contrived how Bill & Katie are now suddenly the most happy couple ever, but it's gonna be good once everything hits the fan. I hope they take this story as a slow burn.

OK, a few points about why this show irks me right now.

First, that things happen lickity-quick on this show and I don't know why when if they developed the story they could probably garner more fans through word of mouth. It's almost as if Bill Bell Jr is afraid someone else will tell the story on another show first before he does so he throws it on NOW instead of waiting.

Case in point are two stories involving Caroline. The first was just a plot device to show hot men and nothing more than that. Caroline throws a charity event together and raises money. But she thought of it on a monday and put it up on a Friday all just so she could look good in front of Rick. Then the other is her quick change from GOOD CAROLINE to CRAZY UNHINGED, twirl your tongue in your open mouth and ROAR ROAR Caroline. I am waiting on the show to explain the sudden change of character for Caroline since her fall and EVEN MORE when other characters will voice concern, as well, since, we fans, notice it.

Another is how quick after Katie took off her ring that Brooke opened her legs to Bill. If it was a triangle with Brooke, Taylor and Eric I don't think we would be as upset since it's just a man who Brooke beds (and str8 men are dogs when it comes to sex). BUT Katie is Brooke's sister and that is what makes this gross, too quick and not really thought out ON THE PART OF THE WRITERS. They have risked alienating all of us since most fans on this blog HATE this development.

And the last part is the misinformation the doctor is giving out on late in life pregnancies. I am sorry, but Brooke is over 50 and now pregnant. When 40 or early 40s, late in life pregnancies can be "joyful" but they are more than likely dangerous ESPECIALLY if menopause is in its early stages! Where was that talk?

I think Bill had a great story in mind and chose the wrong couple to use it with.

The worst scenario to this story would be that Steffy and Brooke both go into labor at the same time and Steffy loses her child and, Bill, who is there, sees an opportunity to save his marriage switches the babies and we have a convoluted baby switch story.

The best thing about B &B is their beautiful live scenes, like in Aspen and Italy. But, the writing is just stupidity and I can't watch Brooke anymore and feel any sympathy for a woman who slept with her sister's husband. The whole story has just turned me off. I'm sure B &B will win a lot of Emmy's, which I'll never understand but Susan F and Heather T both always did such great acting and Heather, to me, is the only saving grace on the show. I no longer watch the show, sorry, I catch up what is happening on this board. I just can't watch this whole Brooke/Bill/ baby crap, it makes me nauseous!

In what way was Caroline mustache twirling in yesterday's episode? She was actually vulnerable and laid her feelings out to her boyfriend, which was actually brutally honest. LG made me feel for Caroline during those scenes. The other thing I liked was how Caroline admitted that Maya was actually a nice person, but she was jealous of her because once Rick met her, their relationship suffered. It makes Caroline's bitchiness toward her logical and, although we already knew this as viewers, this was the time for Rick to be honest about his feelings. Because he wasn't, I do feel bad that Caroline is trying to hang on to a guy that fought for her and has realized he doesn't want her anymore. That, to me, is the excitement of the story, because while Rick has every right to want to move on from Caroline, she has every right to be pissed at his lack of honesty. That, for me, is going to be the payoff for this story, if handled correctly. The Hope/Liam/Steffy debacle has left me cold, with regards to this writing staff handling of soap triangles.
