Dixie Flips Out on David on All My Children!

Angie (Debbi Morgan) tried to explain to Cara (Lindsay Hartley) why she helped David (Vincent Irizarry) get out of jail. Angie believed he deserved a chance to rebuild his life, but Cara didn’t agree at all.

AJ (Eric Nelsen) went BALLISTIC on Hunter (Daniel Covin) for treating Miranda (Denyse Tontz) so badly.  In the middle of Jane’s Addiction, he called the boy a “pussy.”  I haven’t decided what I think of all the swearing on Prospect Park’s soaps. While there has been some very well timed swearing, sometimes it has felt like the writers on both soaps were trying too hard. I don’t think they’ve found a good balance yet, but I'm sure they will.

One thing is certain, All My Children is powering through Miranda’s storyline. It felt more than a little fast for Miranda to go from hopelessly enchanted with Hunter to the aftermath of being humiliated in five episodes. I would have expected it to be stretched out longer.

AJ wasn’t the only member of the family to go OFF. Dixie (Cady McClain) walked into JR’s (Ryan Bittle) bedroom and discovered David with his hands around JR’s neck. She IMMEDIATELY started shouting bloody murder.  Angie and Cara rushed into the room, where David explained he was feeling JR’s pulse. He told them he’d seen JR move.

Petey (Robert Scott Wilson) and Celia (Jordan Lane Price) spent time out in Pine Valley. With so much happening in Pine Valley at warp speed, Petey and Celia need to slow the hell down. They are coming across as forced. There is certainly potential for them, but at this pace, six months from now they’ll have great grandkids.

After the dust settled at Jane’s Addiction and the teens had left, Bianca (Eden Riegel) bumped into Zach (Thorsten Kaye) and the two caught up. Jane interrupted them, and told Bianca what happened to Miranda.

Bianca arrived at AJ’s room, where AJ and Miranda had sought refuge after the incident.  Bianca tried to be supportive, but Miranda threw Bianca’s lesbian activism back in her face.  Miranda demanded to know if Bianca thought of anyone other than herself when she came out. She wondered if Bianca ever pondered how it would make others feel. I understand the things children say to their parents are often very unfair, but having watched Bianca’s coming out story, I have to say this wasn’t a fun scene to watch. Bianca’s coming out struggle was not, in any way shape or form, how Miranda portrayed it.

Today I gave up on AMC. I found how David being in JRs room and how idiotic Angie is that she foolishly listens to him absurd! For one thing this incident should revoke his parole! Also, why are they still writing that David is the only smart doctor!

Any bets on Celia's benefactor being David?

But the real reason that I stopped watching is that the show hasn't moved forward 5 years but seems only 5 weeks. No explanation yet on tad or any other cast not there. The young set story is sophomoric especially for a new "generation of soap story telling". Miranda chastising her mother should never have happened and Miranda should have stood her ground, praised her mother and gotten the kids in the place to applaud her for taking a stand against a bully! No, they went the old school beat up mom cause I'm a teenager in the 1950s. Just dumb.

Sorry but when you add in the bad dialogue to the bad old school stories and silly characters (petey n Celia are not a love story... Making her 18 JUST IN TIME for Perry's stalking still verges on gross).

Call me when the soap is truly NEW and not just a continuation of what got AMC cancelld in the first place.

Wait, I just thought of something...

1) Why was David in the Chandler tunnels to begin with to see JR raising a gun at the people in the mansion? He wasn't invited. He was hated (as always) by all there in attendance. And I hope 5 years on that Adam has knocked out those tunnels and expanded his mansion!

2) DId Dixie know that David was being released?! Did Angie tell Dixie that she was going to testify on behalf of WAY EARLY release? Why didn't AJ know? Or even Adam or Brooke?

I know its a soap that we are suppose to suspend belief to the point of letting everything go... especially seeing the DEAD rise from the DEAD and just say "oh HI" on OLTL... but my questions above are a small indication of what fans hated about the old AMC so I'm wondering now if they addressed it?

I was never a big fan of AMC but I must admit I'm enjoying it now now that it's online. Some of the acting is not the best but it's with the young crowd and I know with time...that will improve. I am finding myself hoping they find a way to keep Eden Riegel as Bianca around. From what I have read she was to only be here for a story arc but keeping her around would be quite nice as her character seems to be the character that is drawing me into the show! Don;t get me wrong...I'm loving Opal and Angie and Dixie and everyone else...but Bianca is the reason I'm really enjoying the show right now.

I'm still watching AMC cause I am supporting soaps and this new venture, but the dialogue for the new AMC can be really bad sometimes. I really hated that Miranda lashed out at Bianca for growing up as daughter to a *gasp* lesbian??? It just seems that Bianca would have raised her daughter a little bit better and more respectable of diversity and differences. I mean sure, there will be assholes like that Hunter, but instead of running away and blaming her mom, it would be nice for Miranda to stand up for her mother and not making herself a victim. If she were really a young Erica Kane, she'd be the most popular girl of her school and wouldn't take any shit. I don't like seeing Miranda as a victim.

Also, what a terrible plot device with Celia overhearing Petey's womanizing friend, thus making Celia think Petey is a womanizer. Really AMC? What is this, Swan's Crossing? Fifteen?

I am enjoying the grown ups a lot more. Adam and Dixie discussing JR were great scenes and I want to see more David and Cara. I am very intrigued by Cassandra's human trafficking story. It's a big story and it works so far.

They answered questions about Tad yesterday, he is on an assignment away right now but he and Dixie are engaged.

We must remember its been a week and 3 days now and AMC is a 30 minute soap we aren't going to get all the answers that quickly.

As for David vs JR....screw Dixie JR came into that mansion with a gun intending to shoot someone yea David shouldn't of shot him point blank in the head BUT don't discount what JR intended to do.

So far I'm enjoying the show more than OLTL (and OLTL is my jam not to say that I am not loving it to) but there are some characters I could do without like Celia and I am also not loving the Cassandra storyline. For me its all about David, JR, AJ, Miranda and Bianca because LBR JR intended to kill either Marissa or Bianca this sets up a good soap. The dialogue is a little clunky....isn't the writer from Days?

Wait, wasn't it confirmed that JR killed Marissa and that's why David lost it and put a slug in him?

And PJC, by Miranda's age Erica had had Kendall and all sorts of other things that I don't think we need to see on screen had happened to her. Are they really trying to set Miranda up as Erica, though? If that's a stated aim, then I do agree that this character--who I like very much, warts and all--isn't being written correctly.

Its confirmed that David saw JR with the gun pointing it "erratically" he lunged for the gun they struggled and it went off killing Marissa (that way they can say JR didn't intend to kill anyone) Then David saw who "JR" shot and turned the gun on JR shooting him in the head.

I don't think Miranda is the new Erica, I think Bianca/Miranda will have the same mother/daughter issues that Mona/Erica and Bianca/Erica had.

Ok Im calling it now. 5 years ago, JR's plan was to go the party and kill himself and have his family feel bad for how they treated him. However David saw JR and the gun. He tried t stop him & got his finger on the trigger. In the struggle it went off and Marissa was killed. So David knowing that he accidently killed his daughter, shot JR. So David did the shooting but If JR hadnt brought the gun to the mansion, this all wouldnt have happened.

Just because you raise your kids right; it doesn't mean they won't rebel; especially if they are being teased all the time about their parent's lifestyle.

I do think that Miranda will eventually be the new Erica 2.0 it just may take a season to get there; otherwise whom else are they grooming; Colby is coming back and I'm sure she'll be a bitch but Erica level bitch I don't know.
