The Young and the Restless Family Expresses Love For Late Jeanne Cooper Via Social Media

Many members of the cast and crew of CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless have taken to Twitter and Facebook to express their feelings over the passing of Jeanne Cooper (Katherine). Below are a few of their posts. We will be adding more as the day goes on.

In that picture she’s wearing the same outfit she had on in her last episode (we’ve seen the last of Katherine. Brent Boyd tweeted that Katherine ascending the stairs saying goodnight to Jill was her final scene on Y&R).

It was Jeanne and Brenda on our screens in the 80’s and that feud that kept me coming back for more. I don’t know if the show will ever be the same.

I so want Jess to now pay tribute to one of the greatest soap stories of all time by being the center of the show. I know it’s not up to her, of course, but I’m going to keep hoping the team at Y and R know that this will not only HONOR Jeanne, but keep this story going, and the memory of Jeanne with us as long as the show is on the air.

Sad day for us, but a glorious day for her as she enters into Heaven. Rest in peace, dear soul. And thanks for the wonderful gift you shared with us!
JEAN COOPER?

Is that how she spelled it?
I’m hoping she made that mistake via spell check, maybe she posted her message on her phone and that is why.

That last scene when she was walking up the stairs and Jill asked her if she needed help was her last scenes. It showed her, Catherine and Jeanne, that she was still fighting . I sensed for awhile something was wrong because Jeanne, who was always so strong and feisty, looked like she wasn’t well and seemed very weak in her actions and voice. Y &R truly lost an icon. She was a classy strong woman to the end.

Yes, Katherine’s pep wasn’t there at all the last year…mostly sitting in scenes, pale, thin…but still being Katherine The Great, with her false long fingernails and diamonds looking grand! ;)

She always had her drag on…

It would be great if they could make a memorial Chancellor Park for the GC people to hang out in. I can only stand Crimson Lights and the Athletic Club for so long. I hope they don’t recast as it is sadly natural for people to pass on. It’s kind of funny that they’ll keep the older characters the age they are but they will SORAS almost every kid these days. Kyle should only be about 12 or 13 in real life per the time he was on with Maura West’s Diane. Katherine’s last scene was more fitting than John Ingle’s last scene alive as Edward on GH.

I’ve been itching to tweet Josh Griffith and Angelica McDaniel about keeping Jess Walton on and working with her schedule..

But I feel it’s too soon. I didn’t want to be disrespectful.

Jeanne Cooper, Katherine Chancellor, The Chancellor Mansion…it IS a big part of Y&R. It’ll never be the same.

Yes we need Jill Stoney for this transition for fans and have Nina move home to mansion…it continues…we need (me wishful need) Jill Foster Abbott! :((

I began watching Y&R with my mom not long after it first aired. I was just 10 years old & grew up with Y&R and “Mrs. C” or “Duchess” as Brock would call her.

Jeanne Cooper, the stalwart woman behind the character, was, in a word, amazing. So inspiring, strong and funny, a brash and beautiful lady. I will never ever forget her & always miss her.
