@jamey Giddens: I will give you that much on Douglas "you gotta know the rules before you break them..." I would rather see more Nikki and Victor than some Steve "turtle acting" Burton as Jason Morgan on The Young and The Restless.

I would love to see WN return but Days has not treated him well. (Alex North anyone)

For some reason Ken Corday seems to love Josh Taylor in the role of Roman. Nobody else does but he. And that's why we have to watch Chris Kositchek playing Roman Brady for more than fifteen years now. I wish Wayne Northrop would be asked back. As Roman.

Are AJ and Carly the new Alan and Monica? A question that wasn't really answered or was it? Anyway I LOVE the chemistry between Laura Wright and Sean Kanan. LW doesn't even need to be put back in Roger Howarth's orbit ... you have an interesting couple right there.

The worst thing about Dylan and Avery besides kicking the vets to the side has to be Steve Burton's acting. I bought his abilities as a hitman with major brain damage but now on Y&R ... it's just painful to witness this week to week.

@soapjunkie88: It's like watching skin burn in a oven. (movie reference) Just that bad. They are writing him as not-Jason Morgan. But he is playing him like Jason Morgan. There is no depth to him. Heck, the ladies out there don't even get a chest shot. So I don't see why they are keeping him!

I mean who is JFP polling out there "The Steve Burton Fan Club?" Is that her test audience?

Week 2 for these shows now and I'm really into that human trafficking storyline on AMC!

Even though the dialogue for the teens is stilted and not current, I like the way that Miranda and AJ relate to one another (is AMC going for that 80s teen, 'John Hughes movie vibe' with these two?).

Celia needs more 'stuff' to do. This 'courtship' with Pete is too conventional, it's what soaps used to do 20+ years ago.
I'm gonna need for Celia to engage Pete to help her hack into the school's financial records so that she can get some clues about her benefactor.
Maybe if Celia gets an active storyline, it might force her to stretch her abilities and grow as an actress faster.

As for OLTL, it looks as if Dorian is going after Vicki, she seems to be setting up the circumstances to set Vicki up for a major fall.
I keep wondering when Todd is going to keel over. What exactly did Victor spike Todd's drink with??
I'm not sure whether OLTL's writers are letting the younger set ad lib but it seems the most realistic of all the soaps. I think they may be having a bit too much fun with 4 letter words, though Wink

AMC might be relying a little bit too much on their teens but I can see things evening out. I think the character/cast rotation is pretty decent. Maybe it's the smaller cast but I don't get the notion that anyone (on the show now) is being ignored, like I sometimes do with traditional Daytime soaps.

It would be nice if certain characters make their entrances just in time for the summer Wink

Amen Jamey. Jill needs to be back at Jabot. And running the Men's line, with Mason as Spokesmodel.
And Avery and Dylan need a rest. And we need to take it down with Chelsea and Adam/Sharon. I'm tired of them (lol).

On Y&R, Lauren/Carmine's affair and fallout is the strongest storyline of them all.

Chelsea!? Common she is next to Avery and Dylan the third big star of the show. TPTB already trying to come up with a story that has Chelsea end up pregnant again. Wink

No seriously, Y&R needs more balance. Avery, Dylan and Chelsea feel like the unpopular version of GH's Sonny, Carly and Jason. It's not gonna work, JFP.

@MsAgentProvocateur1: Shitttttt! I like the uses of foul language! Wink That is realistic to people young today. You see 12 year old saying them like they are part of the daily English language as taught in school. Smile

Not to defend B&B...but the difference between AMC and OLTL and B&B is about 10 to 11 minutes.

I didn't realize it, but when I watch AMC and OLTL, they average around 27 to 28 minutes WITHOUT commercials.

B&B, without commercials, is about 16 to 17 minutes...

But I do agree, B&B's time could be better utilized. There's really no excuse beyond Brad Bell being burned out

@stoney07: Would counter that Port Charles, Loving/The City and Generations were the same length of time in their day and they manage to tell 3 different storylines in one episode and throughout the week. So we were not forced to watch just one. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbDThc9mjRI&list=UUoW_VkIdS8jVR3B5zwg03zQ

Hey, Jamey...You mentioned in the podcast that Prospect Park is looking for unsigned music for One Life's club scene because it is less expensive. My brother-in-law is a trance music producer in Connecticut and he is very interested in performing on the show. Do you know who he can contact? Where did you hear they were looking for unsigned music?

Personally,I HATE the use of profanity,on the reboots. Angry Sad I'm
48 and I don't speak with profanity. I don't see a need for it. I like
to think that I have a large enough vocabulary,to not feel the need or
desire. As for young kids doing it and it being realistic,as a result,
That's not,really,the point. The point,for me,is if AMC,in its heyday,
80s/90s,was GREAT without such language(realistic,to SOME,or not *raised
eyebrows*)WHY is it SO necessary and valid,NOW? Wink Storytelling
or lack thereof,on AMC,in its final years,was the problem,for me.(Well,that
and interference by TIIC.*frowns*)
NOT,a lack of profanity or nudity. Not being a prude, mind you. Just telling
the truth. IMO. Wink

Is there a way for you to e-mail or Tweet Jamey? Or even Prospect Park? Maybe check TOLN web site and see if there is any information posted on there?
I know I'm not Jamey but maybe those are some places you might want to start. PP/TOLN may have submission guidelines posted somewhere.

Thanks, MsAgentProvocateur1

I actually looked through all those channels without any luck of making contact. I just figured that Jamey may have had an inside contact (not asking him to reveal his sources, just wondering if he could ask the source how this would work).

I appreciate the advice, though.

Unfortunately, when the shows pare down to 1 hour a week I bet the recurring guest stars and the prominence of the club set will eventually wane. We'll have to see.
