I think Jason Thompson has the best reel, Doug second, but think its silly for an award to be based solely on a few minutes. So all things considered I’d give it to Doug Davidson he deserves it.

Peter Bergman has no business in the race. You mean to tell me that DOOL and B&B had no leading men for this race, WTF??
    Doug Davidson should win
    Jason Thompson will win

JT or MM are clearly the two best reels. I like DD very much, but his performance is a bit over the top. JMO.

BTW, why does that obnoxious HLN ad have to run everytime you try to watch? I’ll never watch that channel again. UGH.

DD sobs in scenes where it’s not even called for, aka Jonathan Jackson. If DD has never won, sure he deserves. But like i said, the constant bawlers, hmmmm….

I think Doug Davidson should win this. I liked his scenes with and about Ricky. JT could win it as well. Well, I just skimmed through the reels. Davidson has this won. I mean him crying “I killed my son” at the very end, to me, seals it.

the writing in jason thompson’s reel could have made for really cheesy, sentimental scenes. instead, JT added subtlety and depth to it. as to doug davidson, gosh, frankly, it’s a bit much. if he hasn’t learnt by now that bawling and sobbing does not necessarily equal good acting, then, frankly, it’s too late…

I think that the Y&R will split the vote, leading to the guy from General Hospital winning. But I think that, despite his ‘reel’, Mike Muhney should win.

Definitely Doug Davidson! He ripped my heart out with that Ricky story on a daily basis. He’s been so good for so long on Y&R and it would be great to see him win a well deserved Emmy.

I think that Doug had the better reel. It showed more range. He should have been in tears and bawling at that point. Killing ones own child has to be a horrific situation to be in. He broke down with Nina not while being interviewed. I don’t think Doug is that weepy. But he does turn on the faucet when it’s necessary. He isn’t afraid to let it all hang out. I admire that.
Jason’s reel was very good. It was nearly perfect but I would have liked to see just one more scene that showed some range. Getting angry or falling apart. Yes those scenes were heart breakingly well done. Controlled and subtle. It showed some great acting ability. Or it showed an actor that only has sullen and ill at ease as his go to style. Since I don’t watch GH that much and when I have, he only plays under the note and doesn’t change it up much, I am not sure how much range of acting he has.
The other two Michael and Peter have had better material than what was offered. Michael’s was better than Peters. Heck I have seen better from Peter accepting the award!
