Soap Alums Cicely Tyson and Judith Light Win Tony Awards

The 67th Annual Tony Awards served up big wins for former soap stars Judith Light and Cicely Tyson on June 9. Light, who portrayed Karen Wolek on One Life to Live, took home Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play. Light appears in The Assembled Parties

Tyson, who played Martha Frazier on Guiding Light, landed the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play award. The actress stars in The Trip to Bountiful.

As the World Turns alum Billy Magnussen was nominated for his role in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, but lost out to Lucky Guy’sCourtney B. Vance.
