Please, don't get me started. This is why I didn't even bother watching the award show. If this is the best, no wonder soaps keep dieing.

This is some kind of bad joke, right?

So, the worst written show on television wins best writing?!?!?!?!

I wonder who the Bell's paid off for this one.

Did the voters even watch the reel? This show is one stinking pile of crap and I lay the blame at the feet of the LAZIEST writing team in daytime history.

Awards shows never truly represent the best of anything.

No...no...just no. What are the voters thinking? B&B has not been worthy of this Emmy in years and that is coming from a fan. This show is not even worth watching anymore. Unless you want to watch the never ending love story of Hope/Liam/Steffy or Brooke Logan's baby making that is. Truly disappointing.

Again, it's interesting to see the comments on here.

We all know that NONE of the shows last year knocked it out of the park.

All had problems.

I think that B and B has the consistently factor going for it.

While not spectacular, I don't think it should be a surprise to see it win.

And it IS about the submitted scenes, not the quality of the show for the entire year anyway.

So, congrats!

Should have been OLTL.

Seriously, B&B winning best writing takes any remaining credibility for the Daytime Emmys and grinds it in a garbage disposal.

Zero imagination, trite stories, Liam & Hope & Steffy - it's by far the worst show on TV (even outside of soaps). How could this possibly have even been nominated for best writing?!?

So I gotta ask...who then SHOULD have won?

I'm afraid to hear...

Who should have won?

Y&R was inconsistent and sorta boring, but that's the only show I watch. The writing is certainly stronger than B&B. I don't watch GH but I read on this and other sites that the show has been excellent under the new-ish management.

Maybe this category should just have been axed this year. Who should have won? I have no idea, but it sure as HECK should not be B&B in any universe.

IMO, for last year, it should have been GH. Even though the storylines are getting to be quite a lot to swallow NOW, it was in a much better place storyline- and consistency-wise.

This award is another joke. All the writers show is flashbacks - that is not good writing. This award show was a joke. B&B is crap. I can't even watch it. This is just like ratings not worth looking at.

I agree with Yoryla - and I am a long time fan of B&B, Y&R, OLTL and GH!
