James Franco Wants Your Money

Former General Hospital star and Oscar nominee James Franco (ex-Franco) is the latest celebrity to launch a Indiegogo campaign to pay for a film, but there’s a twist. The $500,000 Franco is hitting fans up for will be used to produce not one, but three films based on his 2010 book Palo Alto, according to The Wrap.

Franco has big plans for the money: a trio of feature-length films directed by four up-and-coming talents. "Memoria" will be co-directed by Nina Ljeti and Vladimir de Fontenay; "Killing Animals" will be directed by Bruce Thierry Cheung; and "Yosemite" will be directed by Gabrielle Demestree. Franco hopes to begin shooting this August.

Franco, who has already raised over $25,000, promises to donate profits from the sale of the films to Art of Elysium.

sorry man. a couple of years ago i may have thrown him a few bucks in exchange for staying far away from gh. if his book isn't strong enough to interest investors maybe a movie adaptation isn't the best idea. maybe something on a smaller scale; a stage production or puppet show.

I had enough trouble coughing up a few bucks to see Oz since he was in it, I'm certainly not contributing to his funding.

I find him quite SLEAZY looking. Looks like he need some cream poured on his face and a cat to lick it off. Just has a real dirty look about him.

He rubs me the wrong way. It bothered me how he got special treatment and a lot of screen time on GH just because he was some big movie star. Sure, that's more of an issue with ABC. But I still didn't like it. That's not all. Him enrolling in college, then not showing up and falling asleep. And does anyone remember that "Jamie Franko" character on OLTL? He's a rapper in real life and James stole his likeness for the Spring Breakers movie. This guy is a piece of work.
