Patrick reminds Britt that she’s supposed to be on bed rest, and not crashing his party. He also points out she's making Emma uncomfortable.  Britt wants to celebrate Independence Day, and has no family except the baby.  Patrick explains to Emma that Britt is alone, and they should share their day with her.

Milo tells Sonny he can’t work for him anymore, because he’s not built for the mob life like Shawn.  Sonny is disappointed, but not angry. He reminds Milo he needs to be loyal and discreet.  Sonny asks what Shawn wanted to say, but Shawn apologizes for the bad hit. He’s declares he's in Sonny’s corner 100%, and the job is in his blood.

Liz, AJ and Aiden are celebrating the holiday.  Liz is glad she’s giving AJ a second chance, because she feels he’s worth it.  AJ is happy to be spending time with Aiden, because he didn’t get to do the same with Michael when he was younger.  AJ feels helpless he can’t help Michael with his problems.  Liz is grateful AJ is here with Aiden.  She understands Lucky’s need to stay away, and then apologizes for bringing up Nikolas. AJ has accepted Nik as a part of her past.  Liz tells him she asked Nik to stay away.

Alexis tells Nikolas that Shawn chose her, and is planning on quitting.  Nik is happy for her, and then explains Liz is moving on with AJ. He realizes he needs to move on as well. Alexis assures Nik he’ll find the right woman.

Michael is shocked to find Kiki tied to the bed, and starts to call the police. However, she tells him it’s all fun and games with Morgan.  Morgan arrives, and is angry to find Michael all over Kiki. He wants him to leave.  Michael explains he’s there to ask Kiki to get tested for Danny.  Kiki agrees to have the test. After Michael leaves, Morgan wants to get romantic, but Kiki is not in the mood.  Morgan does his best to put her back in the mood.

Sabrina asks Emma to show Britt her doll to include her in the festivities.  Britt takes the doll, but when she feels its wetness she throws it away.  The doll lands on the barbecue grill, and catches on fire.  Emma cries over the doll being ruined.  Sabrina and Patrick bury the doll.  Britt apologizes, and promises she won’t let anything happen to their baby and leaves.

Shawn tells Alexis he didn’t quit, and explains what happened with Milo helped him realize he loves working for Sonny. Shawn says it’s about protection and security. He points out it also gives him something to do.  Unfortunately, Alexis can’t live with that.

Sonny tells Olivia that Milo quit, and he's just one more in a line of losses.  Olivia reassures him she’s not going anywhere.  The two reminisce about holidays from their past.  They watch the fireworks, and share a kiss.

Max and Milo make up, and watch the fireworks together.

Nikolas and Spencer spot AJ and Liz, but Nik doesn’t disturb them.  He runs into a crying Britt, and offers to watch the fireworks with her.

Why would Britt throw the doll across the park, like that. What an odd reaction. She's an OB, she must have held babies before. And to fling it seemed like overkill. Dropping it on the ground maybe, but flinging it across?

Morgan really is a horrible person. Jason was his mother's best friend. He's named after him. Yet he's acting like Danny's a piece of gum under his shoe. "yes yes, the baby is sick, can you leave, so I can blank my girlfriend now" Now, I get that they want to make him as unlikable as possible so that we root for the incest couple, but they could have him behave believably and unlikable all at the same time.

I'm glad Alexis stuck to her guns and didn't take Shawn back. Let's hope that sticks.

Someone needs to remind Olivia that her son was shot in the chest in this very living room by this man, that she seems all dreamy about.

I found the emphasis that Sean put on how he "needs" his job with Sonny and going on about how he enjoys his work just disturbing. And Olivia acting like it's such a legit business. I hope Alexis sticks with being away from him. These people kill people for the attainment of money and I just find the glorification of criminals on GH and other shows disturbing.

I thought it was hilarious when Britt threw the doll. It was sooooo over the top with it landing on the grill and catching fire that I couldn't help but laugh. I'm sure Britt will give Enimma another doll.

Perkie, two things:

1) Of all of the things to criticize, you pick the brilliant babydoll sequence, which is the best (or at least by far the most entertaining) thing to happen on GH since Britt told Emma she didn't like her, either?

2) Following up on 1), I know you don't usually put quotes in your recaps, but Emma had a couple zingers today ("But she died surrounded by FLAMESSSS!" and "Not everyone has a good soul...do they?") that had me rolling. RC does just about everything else wrong but he knows how to use the actress playing Emma perfectly.

Btw, Perkie, I enjoy your work so I write the above completely respectfully Smile

Liz cheated on St. Lucky the Purist Saint in the world with his idiotic brother, Nicholas! Let.It.Go. Jeez. I am tired of Liz wearing the red letter "A" on her forehead. Niz had sex a couple of times back in 2009! Why in the hell can't this show allow Liz to move on with her life? LnL2 divorced six years ago and the Niz affair began and ended in late 2009. Lucky married Siobhan. Nicholas moved on with Brooklynn. However, Liz is still yammering on and on about how poor old Lucky was hurt. Bite me. I really wish the writers would have the balls to simply state that Lucky abandoned Cam and Aiden, so that Liz can stop taking all of the blame that he is not raising his children. All of Liz's "maybe" romances (Matt, Ewen, Jason, and AJ) have been dumped before we even get a chance to like the couples. I deliberately left Nik off the list.

Sorry for the rant.

Team Morgan! Team Britta! Team AJ! The more that the writers dump all over Morgan, Britta and AJ, the more that I'll root for them each and every time. Here's hoping Morgan ends up running over Michael just for the hell of it with his car.

I had to laugh at the crispy fried doll.

Felecia cheated on Mac with Luke and dumped her kids for over a decade does not get to be irritated with Britta.

Once more with feeling. Nik and Britta will have a "connection" which will ultimately end with Nik delivering her baby at a motel, near the woods, where Britta will wander off with the baby and dumps him in a planter. Wink

What's up with KikiStarr constantly having her clothes off? Maybe she and Nik should hang out by Kelly's diner half dressed during the lunch hour.

AJ was really adorable with Aiden.

Sonny slobbering all over Olivia made me lose my lunch. Jeez. Why can't this man get a freaking vasectomy or at least write Sonny as having testicular cancer, STD,,,etc,,, or any major illness that prevents us from seeing him having sex with his next victim. Sick

im disappointed in olivia. i get that she had sonny first and I get that they have history, but she has to know on some level that any romance with sonny would strain connies loose grasp on mental health. she knows that skate arent together because of her illness and not because they dont love each other. (not that i get it, personally i agree with those that say sonny really only loves carly and brenda and all the others are just place holders - but that said its been written just weeks ago that sonny loved kate/connie.) And it makes all those moments where olivia was "helping" sonny and encouraging him to wait for connie seem suspicious.

I feel sorry for britt. now if she isnt carrying patricks baby and it turns out that she was happy to go along with it, that will change, but when she and nik ran in to each other i thought hell if liz is going to treat him like dirt, go BIK!! I agree that flea has no business judging anyone about anything when it comes to relationships.

I still see zero chemistry between liz and aj. YAWN.

Disappointed too in morgan.

Olivia and Sonny are happening because the IIC needed to pair off those two actors since they both just reupped their contracts, and Kelly Sullivan didn't (or got fired; whatever). None of Sonny's pairings outside of Carly (sometimes) and Brenda (sometimes) are ever remotely credible. His other pairings are always plot-driven (Konnie, Sam, Alexis, etc.) or the result of BTS crap, as in this boring redux with Olivia. There's no good reason why Olivia would go near the man who put a hole in her precious son.

Speaking of whom, is Dante going to continue to be an utter non-entity? I hated him when he was eating the show the first two years or so he was on but now that we've got godforsaken characters like Kiki the bridge troll, RapeTape and Silas the jackass I wouldn't mind Dante coming back to frontburner if that means he steals some time from those fools.

Did Morgan just "Date Rape" Kiki, she said she didn't want to have sex and he pushed her on the bed and started proceeding anyway. That just made me feel some kind of way as far as the way that scene ended.

The Sonny and Olivia kiss was horrible; it was like they forgot how to kiss and he kept trying to find her face; that's not how you do it!

I'm sure Alexis and Shawn aren't over but him choosing his job over her was just wrong; Here's a crazy idea; have her sleep with Mac, (It's a soap I'm sure reason and circumstance can happen) That gives Mac, Felicia and Alexis a real story. I'm not sure what the point of Mac and Felicia getting married is if they don't have an actual story line on the show? They are glorified extras.

Sabrina was annoying, making that stupid comment about hoping Britt "A Gynecologist" is better with Patrick's baby.

AJ and Liz lack chemistry; they each need a catalyst to stay interesting; Carly and or Nicholas. I really like the chemistry between Liz and Nick and Carly and AJ.

The best thing about the show was Britt and Nicholas finally meeting. Let a story I'm actually looking forward too begin.

Good show today (though I can live without Sonny & Olivia.

AJ and Aiden were adorable together. Elizabeth was beautiful as always.

Loved seeing Felicia and Mac having such a good time together.

Still not a fan of Britt (or Sabrina, though she's less gushy than she used to be). I still don't understand Britt's Patrick obsession. And I feel bad for Nicholas, since this is just going to lead to heartbreak for him. When's the last time poor Nic was happy?

The burning of the doll was so OTT, but so funny. And Emma's facial expressions cracked me up as well.

I like Kiki and Michael. And Chad plays tortured Michael so well.

As far as Nik/Liz/AJ are concerned, I no longer have a horse in this race, per se. I wanted Niz and Carly & AJ because of the sexual chemistry between each couple. Now, I'm fine with either coupling if they'll only pick up the pace a bit. One thing: After AJ's big apology, I wouldn't want him to fall again, or be tempted by Carly.

I'm already convinced that Nik & Britt will have smokin' chemistry, so throwing her into the mix seems like the right move, especially because Liz & Britt hate each other's guts.

I don't give a cra*p about Solivia. KeSu's imminent departure has already been announced, so again, keep it movin. Olivia's hypocrisy and stupidity used to really get under my skin, but since Johnny's not around any more, I don't care. I do kinda think that it's a little OOC for Olivia to do Connie like she is, but it hardly matters.

Shawn and Alexis's breakup has been pretty good, as far as breakups go. NLG & SB are being given the room to put some muscle into their scenes. It's too bad we never got to see the beginning of their relationship.

The doll baby bit was golden! Big smile Beer

Subtract Morgan et. al., and you have a fairly decent episode.

I haven't felt the need to post anything in weeks ... maybe it's been months ... because everything has been so pathetic.

But I just had to see what everyone was saying about the baby doll. Yes, OTT ... but I actually laughed out loud, for real! That doesn't happen very much. I rewound it and watched again. And Emma's lines were classic ... and Sabrina telling her the baby wouldn't need her leg to get into heaven. Shakespeare this is not, but I did laugh and have a good time watching the show today. And that hasn't happened in weeks.

So happy to see Mac and Felicia. Another poster was correct though ... what is the point of their getting together and having a wedding when they have NO story? The Felicia-Mac wedding is one of the few things I am actually watching this show for now, because it's kind of getting a semi-big buildup, so I am expecting it will actually happen.

Was feeling for Britt today ... she is becoming a more complex and likable character.

Loved AJ and Liz. My 70-year old mother, who watches with me every day, gets nervous every time little Aiden walks away. "Something terrible is going to happen to him," she shrieks. I try to comfort her by telling her no, they've already killed one of her babies, so this one is probably ok. Egads ... but it's the truth.

Okay first...I so agree with liason4real regarding Felicia. Felicia is the last person to even hint at someone's parenting skills. I would take Heather saying something over Felicia!

And EricasEvilTwin, I so agree with you regarding olivia. She knows her cousin has a mental illness and still loves Sonny. That is so evil of her to want to be with Sonny. On twitter everyone is calling Olivia thirsty. Even Sonny act like he doesn't care about Connie's mental state anymore.

Okay now about Emma. They better be glad I wasn't in that park cuz I would have grabbed a tree branch and did a "Joe Jackson" on Emma. Her mouth is way too smart for me. And the fact Patrick can't discipline her but Suckbrina always has to be the one to talk to Emma really pisses me off.

When Britt threw that baby on that grill, I was in soap heaven. I just can not love this girl more. Everything she does is magic. Then Suckbrina had the nerve to say she hopes Britt is more careful with patrick's baby. You stupid whore, that baby is also Britt's. I can't stand Sabrina!

Liz really pissed me off talking about Luckless. Lucky chooses to stay away from his kids. Stop feeling guilty god doggit! AJ was cute with Aiden but Aiden does have a father figure, first it was his uncle Stephen and now it's his Uncle (and real daddy) Nikolas. Also AJ is suppose to be rich, what was up with those socks and cargo shorts!

Not feeling Nik and Britt only because Britt is carrying Lulu's embryo. So why start a romance just for Nik and Britt to be hurt. I want Britt with another schemer who will help her out. I don't want to see britt crying again in the park

Loved every second of Britt's crashing the Hypocrite Picnic especially her hurling Emma's doll into THE FLAMES!!!

The writing since The Nurse's Ball has seriously trampled my interest in Liz and AJ but their little family picnic was sweet. I do think there needs to be a moratorium on Liz beating herself up over Lucky though.

And this episode continued to fan my flames of hatred towards Nikolas. He is a hypocritical, judgmental, whiny jackass who has shown zero respect for Liz's choices even in his whining to Alexis in this episode. And can someone refresh my memory about his and AJ's past history. Because aside from being in deathly dull relationships with AJ's boring hag of a sister and his She-Hulk ex-wife I don't remember those two guys really having any interaction that should have Nik acting like he and AJ have a past feud.

And my Britta deserves way better than the sanctimonious Douche Prince.

Can not wait for Nic and Britt.

NuMOrgan is gross....Danny is ill and all he wants to do is get-off??? Seriously dude needs to get a clue. On the real this NuMorgan is really like his mother, just the worst parts of her. I can easily see Morgan becoming a ruthless business hound like AJ.

Sabrina and Patrick and Emma= Borefest so OTT and Puckable.

It's not that I didn't like the sequence, I did find it funny, just a bit over the top. Like I say, dropping the doll I could understand but she up and flung it across the yard. Then it lands smack on the grill (how many takes did they do to get that right?!!). Then it immediately catches on fire (was it doused in gasoline?) then it's burned to a crisp in seconds.

I get what they were going for and I did laugh, especially when Mac seemed grossed out in finding the left leg and not being able to scrub the plastic off the grill, but it felt like a bit of overkill to get to the point.

I also found it hilarious when Britt assured Patrick that she wasn't about to let their baby burst into flames. Then KT flung her arms in the air as she said "happy 4th" and stalked off which made me laugh. I do like Kelly Theibaud.

Really? Morgan brings out the violence in me, because I just want to punch him in the face for being such a douche. And kick him in the family jewels for good measure!

Quote:
AJ and Aiden were adorable together

I thought it was cute when he told Aiden to get a couple of sticks and the kid wandered off to the corner of the set where there was a fake bush and just sort of stood there.

I also love that during the scene while BH and SK were doing their lines, Aiden was chatting to himself, keeping himself entertained. Tiny Morgan used to do that all the time in scenes with Laura Wright and Ingo. Brought back memories of a sweet and adorable Morgan.

Edit: Daniel St. John: Alexis mentioned to Michael that she reached out to the Quartermaine's that she knew when she was asking him to go to Kiki. I assume he included Tracy and AJ in that. A shame we didn't get to see it.

AJ/Aidan/Liz all sorts of adorable. SK looks like he's a natural with children. I really liked their scenes, best of show. Did anyone else catch Spencer calling AJ Uncle AJ? When did that happen? Nikolas didn't even appear surprised or taken aback by it.

I didn't mind Sabrina's comment about hoping Britt was better with the baby because I was thinking it too, along with "How did Britt ever become a doctor if she has that reaction to a wet baby doll?" And her "If Emma had warned me" comment didn't hold water since Emma DID tell her that it tinkled.

While I agree that Felicia has no business commenting on Britt's parenting skills, I am glad she called her on the vegetarian stuff as Britt was chomping down on that burger.

What nobody's mentioned so far about the doll being burned to a crisp:

This is how Robin is believed to have died. No doubt that's why RC conjured up this particular horror for Emma and Patrick. Brilliant, in my opinion.

I'm loving Britt more each day, and not enjoying Sabrina much since the makeover & Nurse's Ball. Is it just me, or is she wearing a ton more make-up than someone her age would? A couple days ago, I thought she looked like she'd had plastic surgery.

I was astounded the way those lines were written. Shawn "being born" for this job. A natural born murderer! That's just great. And then the justification of his job being protection so that we can make Sonny, Shawn and Olivia out to a quasi anti-hero.

It's too bizarre to listen to a hitman go on about how he loves murdering people. Or actually, Shawn's such a bad shot he can't even do it yet.

Probably Shawn will get killed in the line of duty and then Alexis will adopt that stupid TJ and then Rafe and TJ can both gang bang Molly while Alexis is at work.

Well I thought it was very odd when Connie first got out of the nuthouse and everyone, especially Olivia was ragging on her for dumping Sonny for her mental well being... and now we know why... Olivia's obviously been carrying a torch for the mini mobster all along... but then again we knew that way back when she was sleeping with Johnny and continuously showing up where Sonny was and shoving her tongue down his throat. Olivia was always a major PITA to Johnny about his mob ways, and always defending Sonny left and right, even when she walked in Sonny trying to off Johnny at least once. Connie and Olivia are cousins that are definately not looking out for one another where a man is concerned. Hum.... now that Connie's on her way out, I smell a return to DID story coming and it's too bad Mama Pasta isn't going out with her.

Kiki/Lauren told Morgan she wasn't in the mood, yet he lays a kiss on her anyway and lays her down on the bed? This kid has no clue. He should've been the 4th Ford brother over on OLTL. These writers have no clue who Morgan was as a child.

I don't care for Britt, I never have, and I don't think they will involve her romantically with Nic... I think it will turn out that Dr O is a Cassadine relative (although the only Cassadine I really want to see is Stephan!!!), which makes Britt and Nic some sort of creepy cousins. My guess is when AJ finally messes up and sleeps with Carly again, Liz will turn her nose to Nic and then try to "save" him from being around Britt who she knows is never up to any good.

I wonder if Britt is really interested in Patrick? To me it seemed (thinking back to her conversations with her mother when she first aired) as though she was 'ordered' to make him fall in love with her etc. by her mother and/or father. Maybe she will develop true feelings for Nik but still be obligated to do whatever her parents have planned for Patrick and whomever else in PC. Yes? No? Maybe? lol

Thought Liz looked lovely but I fear she will be in yet another triangle. Ron says the character was mismanaged yet he is putting her in triangle after triangle just like the previous regime.

I don't want her serving propping duty for another newbie to look good. I like Niz but again they don't get the writing; OK that's fine just please leave Liz out of Nik's newbie storyline. Let her move on away from confronting Nik's women.

Fifty shades of stupid? KiKi is a submissive, I too wonder what's going on with her flashing her boobs and now tied up in a bra...is she suppose to be a sex symbol? Add this with the doll it was campy picnik 4th of July fun.

RC isn't good at making "villains" lol all the characters that I think he wants the audience to dislike, I love, and the characters he props endlessly and wants the audience to like, I hate. I.E Britt, Taylor and Sabrina, Morgan was the exception until this episode when he put getting laid and his gf's toleration of pain over his dying cousin who's father he is named after. I take back what I said about Morgan being Carly, because as selfish and impulsive as Carly is, she would never put herself before Jason's son. Morgan is captain douche, and him and his gf need to get out of the Q mansion. Morgan's parents are wealthy, and FrankenTodd is wealthy, so why can't they go find their own place to live. The Q mansion should be reserved for REAL Q's. I'm still convinced FrankenFrodd is Heather's looney offspring.

Shawn's speech to Sonny and Alexis was one of the dumbest things ever, how can you go from being a soldier to a mob hitman, why not become a cop or something and protect people and put away the bad guys that way..as for Alexis, she keeps Sonny out of jail so he can continue selling his coffee, so they both can have several seats.

Britt BBQ'ing the doll was sooooo OTT, but freaking hilarious. TEAM BRITTA!! I'm sorry but Emma is a brat, and Patrick needs to learn how to discipline her. I like Emma, but hate that is being used to prop Sabrina whom I loathe.

Olivia needs some gatorade, stat.

You had to overlook a lot of "real life" in the scenes with the doll, but yes, it was a hilarious bit of soapiness. As Perkie said, Britt's exaggerated "toss" of the doll wasn't staged ideally (the only stumble in the execution of the scene--no pun intended), and modern toys are made with highly flame retardant materials that don't just instantly go up in flames like that. After all the snotty quips Britt has made at Sabrina's expense, I think Sabrina was entitled to the line about hoping Britt treats her baby a little better than she treated that doll. So all in all, I thought it was a great little "event" to make the 4th memorable.

We're on the same page; I think that Britt's obsession with Patrick isn't her own; she's just doing what she's told; so I'm sure falling in love with Nicholas will cause all sorts of trouble with her parents plans.

bishbay, I couldn’t agree with you more. Emma Scorpio-Drake is by far my favorite child character on daytime TV right now because of scenes like the ones from this episode. This is not the first time Emma had me howling with laughter. There was the way she read Britt when she was wearing her fairy princess outfit: “Poof! Disappear!” Also, let’s not forget the classic “WIIITCH, PLEASE!” I love this little girl when she reads BrittCH for filth. LOL!

Sigh....I just don't know what to say anymore. For me the baby BBQ scene was a hysterical and totally a stretch, but for the pure comic sense, (and one liners) it was worth it...ALSO the highlight of the episode. I still can't stand Patrick with Sabrina however. While I don't mind the character of Sabrina, there is absolutely NO chemistry between these two. I do see chemistry with Britt and Patrick...who for some reason I like....Britch persona and all.

The Quiz scenes were adorable, especially Aiden with AJ...but I am not feeling them any longer....Not after all that has happened. Besides it is quite obvious to this long time soap watcher of many years, what is going to happen. AJ will mess up again...this time Liz won't forgive him, or for whatever reason it will have to be over. By then, Nik will be involved with Britt, and this will upset Liz. The set up for Nik and Liz was in place since his return, and indicative of what the end game for this story line is. Both of them were shown to love one another. Liz would not leave his bedside, he woke up to her voice...The problem is that Liz is afraid to be with him after all the heartache that their affair cost. This is classic push and pull ala Ron C. Typical couple angst.

I do have to add that this Aiden could end up giving Emma a run for the money in the cuteness department. What a good little actor following direction for his age.

Michael/Kiki/Morgan story line is just YUCK!

I am looking forward to Sonny and Olivia, as I always thought they had chemistry and have never liked him with this Konnie. Bad timing? Too soon after Skate break up? All possible, but I think Olivia has never stopped loving Sonny since they were kids.

I always enjoy Nik and Alexis scenes. I am glad that Alexis broke up with Sean also, as I have never felt them as a couple.

For a holiday show it was nice to see it celebrated as such with the picnics and the family feel. I really liked that aspect.

Thanks to my posting twin GHFAN77 - I only have to add one thing since as usual she said it all

Kudos to EET who brought up Olivia

More Britt please I never ever thought that I could root for this bully but with time has come perspective and redonkulous writing for Sabrina has made me wanting Britt to win

I swear to all the is holy in the world that if my Lizzie doesn't get some action soon I am going to be pissed. I need to see real chemistry between Quiz and if Carly ends up in bed with AJ again - I will scream
