Ava tells Julian he looks good for a dead man, and demands a hug. She complains about her run in with Duke, and Julian brings up their plan to steal ELQ. Ava explains she threw in with Tracy, but lost.  The two argue about Kiki, but Ava reminds him their plan is to get to rid of Sonny and reclaim their territory. She's laying the groundwork by having Kiki marry Morgan.

Anna realizes she can’t investigate Ava without probable cause.  Duke tells her they need to talk to Sonny.

Shawn informs Sonny the gambling goons are still in business, and making moves to Port Charles.  Sonny wants to know whom they’re working for.  Duke and Anna visit Sonny to talk about the Jerome’s, and if he’s heard anything about them.  Sonny mentions the online gambling ring, and admits he kept tabs on the goons who harassed Connie and Olivia.  Sonny feels if they’re back, he needs to shut them down.    Anna tells him not to take matters into his own hands, but Sonny will do what he needs to protect his own.

Sam and Alexis run into Kevin, and ask for his help in getting information out of Alexis.  Kevin agrees to hypnotize Alexis.

Luke is at the European bank where Jerry had the 88 million dollars wired.  He’s trying to find out who withdrew the money.  The banker notes Jerry has been declared deceased. Despite Luke’s attempt to get information from the banker, he comes up empty.

Connie visits Tracy, and tells her Ava is working against her. She explains Kiki is not Franco’s daughter, and therefore not a Quartermaine.  Tracy realizes without Kiki’s shares, she and AJ are tied. She needs Lucy’s 1% to break the tie.  Tracy asks for proof, but Connie admits she heard a private conversation between Sonny and Morgan. She promised Sonny she wouldn’t tell.

Tracy doesn’t care about Sonny, and just wants ELQ back. Tracy feels they need to team up and win their companies together.  Connie agrees, so Tracy tells her to check Ava’s room, while she goes to see Lucy.

Scotty tells Lucy that Laura has gone off after Luke, and explains Luke’s situation. Scott worries about Laura safety, but Lucy assures him Laura will be back.  Lucy needs to recruit more investors, and can’t go back to Nikolas.

Tracy arrives, and gives Lucy a check. She all of a sudden wants to invest in the spa. Lucy wonders what she wants in exchange.  Tracy requires Lucy's 1% share of ELQ.

Armed men hold Luke and the banker at gunpoint.  One of them shoots Luke, and forces the banker to enter her security code.   They drag the banker and guards away, while one mercenary reroutes the money.  Luke thanks the gunman, who takes off her mask to reveal she’s Holly.

Connie goes through Ava’s room, and finds a box hidden in a pillow.

A hypnotized Alexis goes through the events of the night Sam was conceived, and finally remembers the man’s name was Julian.

Julian tells Ava to leave, so they are not seen together.  Sam pops up at Crimson looking for Connie.

Ok, so we have confirmation that this is supposed to be original recipe Julian, who survived. But is it supposed to be a recast Julian that people will recognize like RoHo's version of Franco, or is this a Julian that no one will recognize because he changed his appearance like SR's version of Jerry Jackes?

I hate when Luke does the VonSkimmerman schpiel. I thought it was dumb of the one gunman who removed his mask. Because he wanted the banker to be able to give a description to the police?? I liked the twist of seeing Holly as one of the gunman though.

Loved Connie/Tracy. I'm really getting sad that were going to be losing Kelly Sullivan.

Not happy about Anna Freakin' Devane going to Sonny for help and information.

Love Kevin.

Love Lucy and her wackiness.

Yes deVry is playing a Julian recast, no Junior version of the original one. And I don't mind the age. Who cares in soaps? You can't do the math with the actors real age. And it's not the first time we are dealing with something like this. Not to mention that in my book deVry could easily go for a little bit over 50.

I loved Connie's scenes with Tracy too. Why start using her now so late in the game? Anyway I loved Connie telling Tracy the truth.

Great scenes between Sonny, Duke and Anna too.

Don't mind Luke's role as Von Skimmermann. Loved that Holly appeared. Guess that will give her and Laura a chance to talk about her affair with Luke?

Overall a great episode. Still happy that FrankenTodd isn't on. And with Julian coming in as a major new threat, who does need Franco anyway? Still hoping we get rid of him. If RC fixes this, a show without FrankenTodd is a much better one. Every episode without him this week proved it.

Agreed. Franco has got to go.

I loved today's episode. I thought it was fun and exciting, and I was even on the edge of my seat at times. Way to showcase all the vets. Revisiting all the Robert/Anna/Duke/Jerome years is a lot if fun. I enjoy listening to what other fans remember because many of them seem to have a near-photographic memory of those stories. I loved being filled-in on them because I don't remember everything.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't have picked Wiliam deVry to be Sam's father. That said, I'm over it because it looks the story will be very good.

I love seeing angry, determined kick-ass Anna. I don't mind her working with Sonny. I'd be lying if I said I never enjoyed a GOOD mob story. Besides, it's time to let Maurice Benard outta the penalty box.

I am pretty sure Julian has altered his appearance otherwise he would be an idiot to just come waltzing back into Port Charles all willy nilly like he has done.
And while I would have preferred Anna not go to Sonny I can understand why she agreed to do it. She can't be totally objective when it comes to the Jerome's so this doesn't bother me as much. Plus this mob storyline has me more interested than any other just because the opposing mobsters are not disposable cliched and cartoony villains like we usually see Sonny go up against. Julian and Ava seem to me like they are an entirely different breed of opponent.
Now I will just keep my fingers crossed that Anna and Duke have major roles in this storyline and aren't treated like day players.

This one was definitely a goodie.

Holly!!! Loved seeing Ms. Scorpio again, she looks great in her reddish hair, and still has a body like a 20 year old. I don't think we'll be seeing Robert, but let's hope she will tell us about him.

I'm kind of digging the Jerome story. Sam fits to the family, and liked the subtle introduction of these two characters before it's eventually revealed they're father and daughter. He is younger than I had hoped for, but it can be overlooked.

However, is anyone else having a hard time picturing *this* Julian romantically with Alexis? Because I am. I believe the past part, but if they try to conjure up something between them now, I don't know if I could find it plausible, really.

What I'm most excited about is the hopefully impending return of Lucas Jones! I'm so glad Sam gained a brother instead of a sister (she has enough of those), and not only that, but now Sam and Carly SHARE a brother, whom they can both fiercely protect, and of course fight over Laughing out loud
I can't wait for Lucas to get into town! And Julian will want to form a relationship with both of his children, of course. Also, they'll want him in the family fold, which I'm sure he'll resist. Just not really happy about the possible love interests Felix and/or Brad, though. Not that I don't like the characters, but I kind of had this image in my head of what I want Lucas to be like, and neither one of those two, F or B really fit with him.

A note on the age thing, this casting actors who are not the right age is not limited to soaps. Olivia Newton-John and I believe John Travolta were pushing 40 when they played high schoolers in Grease, and even more recently, Corey Montieth was over 30 and playing a recent high school graduate in Glee.

I can see William Devry as a contemporary of Alexis.

Lucas is GAY I do not think Julian Jerome is going to be too happy about that. I mostly see Lucas hanging out with his cousin Kiki and Michael, Morgan crowd. Yes a lot of people would like Lucas to be with Felix but I doubt that it would last. I think that Lucas will have a lot to deal with. Julian does not look like the accepting type. Ava will make a great auntie though.

Finally. A good episode of GH, good Lord it's been months since I've been able to say that. The shows are so much better without Franken Identity Theif. TPTB did a great disservice to RoHo bringing him back as Franco.
Seeing how predictable RC's writing was it was refreshing not to see that Holly reveal coming, I know it was spoiled on twitter last week, but it's always awesome to see vets pop up again.

I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed the mob stories on GH when Guza did them, he did them really well, and I hope this regime does it well too. We had a promo that said it was gonna be the summer of Sonny or something like that lol so bring it on, I kinda feel bad that MB hasn't had any good mob material recently.

So, this means Kiki and Sam are cousins. Wouldn't it have been interesting if Kiki had been a match for Danny and everyone would have thought it was because she was Franco's daughter when in fact it's because she's Julian's neice.

I thought this regime wasn't going to focus on mob stories? I guess they ran out of ideas already.

Add Julian to the list of characters in PC that Carlivati has brought back from the dead in the past year. Way too many. I always liked Julian played by Jason Culp and would buy into this story if they cast an age appropriate actor. Devry looks too young to be Sam's dad and not believable as a contemporary of Alexis and Duke. How many 50+ actors are out there who look old enough that could have been cast? Why go for someone so young?

The minute it is revealed that Julian is alive won't he be arrested for his past crimes? How do they plan to keep him on the canvas?

Only good news is that hopefully Anna and Lucy will play a bigger part in the story. Lucy's dealings with Victor Jerome and Olivia Jerome were clsssic.

They better not De-age Lucas. Lucas was the same age as Maxie/Lulu when he was last in Port Charles. Lucas needs to be there for his cousins Maxie and Lulu. U know after this baby info comes out they will be at each other's throats. Lucas can be the person to get them together. Felix needs a life. Now that Lucas has Carly/Sam for sisters, he is tied so so many ppl on the show now. There is NO reason for him not to be in Port Charles soon.

The only thing is Julian looks about 10 younger than Alexis. I know there are some old soap actors who could have played this part but aside from him grabbing Maxie, I love him with Ava. They have that icky chemistry that ppl who play brother and sister are not suppose to have but I blame that on MW. MW plays Ava with such sexiness that it seems like she's about to pounce on every man she talks to.

I HATED seeing freakin Anna Devane go to Sonny for advice. Anna and Duke were around the mob life before Sonny even hit puberty!!! That scene made no sense to me.

Loved seeing Kevin and Alexis together since Kevin is the reason Alexis is in Port Charles. Also Kevin and Livvie still got that chemistry.

HEY RON, SEE HOW GREAT THE SHOW IS WITHOUT FRANKENTODD!!! Keep Franco away. he's not needed at all.

Still will never understand why the editor of the mag and newspaper is out doing reporting. Where are her reporters? Also why site her source? She could have used that info and Sonny would never have known she outed it.

I thought it was hilarious when Connie was talking to Derek and was all "hundreds of people are going to be out of work", and I was all "hundreds????" Isn't Maxie her only employee?!!!!! And she's only at work on days when she's not having some sort of Spinelli crisis.

They didn't want to focus entirly on the mob anymore but it's never been completely gone nor was it promised. The last mob story involving Joe Scully happened last year under the current regime.

Julian is a mobster, so it shouldn't be too hard to keep him out of prison due to lack of evidence for his past crimes.
We already know that deVry signed a four-year contract. That's very telling.

I'm happy that Sam has a brother so I'm definitely looking forward to Lucas showing up in town, hopefully soon.

However I'm a disappointed that Sam & Ava are related and may have to have scenes together in the future because Ava's alien-like expressions are seriously turning me off so much that I have to close my eyes during her scenes otherwise her weird facial movements would distract me from the details of her conversations with other characters.

Loving GH yesterday (8/2/13). This episode is on fire.

William Devry is looking hot. Loved seeing all the Vets. Loved how the storylines were coming together, how the characters connected. Characters that I like for that matter.

Glad that there was no Kiki,Rafe,Sabrina. Keep them off my screen please.

And whomever put the idea of a triangle between Ava/Silas/Sam out there, great idea.

If Julian who is thought to be childless, gets a son, do you think he would disown him just because he's gay? A childless man in his 50s will not turn away from a surprise offspring, and leave his fortune to his sister. He is exactly the type of person who needs people to leave his empire to. And furthermore, Lucas is hardly interested in the Jeromes, they are the ones who have to vie him to get into HIS good graces, not the other way around.

And please, don't EVER suggest anyone as a recast for Kristen Blake DiMera. She cannot be recasted, Eileen Davidson *is* that role. And Kelly Sullivan - who you're supposed to hate, btw - is certainly not a viable candidate. Lmao!

Lovin Ava and Julian Jerome. Can we please get Michelle Stafford on the roster to come in and play Julian's wife and name her Angelica Jerome. That would be the shit after they develop the two major Jerome characters.

Actually I did a bit of checking regarding Julian Jerome. Jason Culp the original actor was born in 1961. William DeVry was born in 1968, only a seven year difference. This is a good recast as far as age goes. I am a long time GH watcher and can go back as far as I can remember. I wonder if possibly Tonja Walker would come back as Olivia St. John Jerome.

Yorla I am interested to see whether Julian accepts lucas. I know sam will embrace him as a brother, just based on how readily she accepted her sisters and how good she was to her brother, so julian will have to answer to sam if he so much as looks at lucas with even a smidge of bias.

Julian man-handled a pregnant woman. Julian has bouts of rage. After viewing his interaction with Sam, Maxi and Connie we can see Julian will not be a light hearted individual. He will not be as accepting as everyone else is. It would be nice to see Julian go through the hardship and finally coming to terms with his sons sexuality. We will also have to factor the fact that Julian did not have a go to daddy. Julian is a man and a mobster his whole demeanor was very rough. He will have difficulty accepting Lucas' homosexuality. It will be a nice story to tell.

As for the Eileen Davidson comment I was not advising that they recast the role of Kristen. Eileen said she only wants to take a break to be with her family. Well why not find someone to seat in while Ms. Davidson takes a leave of absence.

I understand what you're saying, but it's not really a storyline if said son might not even know who his father is yet, let alone like him and/or accept him. Why would Julian *have* to accept him? It certainly doesn't mean anything to Lucas whether he does or doesn't. At this point Lucas doesn't even know these people and he certainly doesn't need to prove anything to them. This is not a storyline where they have been living as a happy family for two decades and then the son comes out and wonders if his father can accept him.

This storyline will be about Julian and Ava trying to get Lucas into the Jerome fold and sweet-talk him in any way necessary to do their bidding. It will be a story about two villians trying to get "the ood guy" over to the dark side. So, I hardly think they can afford to judge him on anything, and even if they did, they wouldn't say anything about it. You're not going to alienate someone you want in your roster. Besides, criminal don't usually care about someone's personal life - they're feelingless people, who just want to get the job done, and will use the best candidate possible for that job. This won't be an emotional story from Julian and Ava's side at all, the emotion in this story will come from Lucas, if anyone, and in her separate storyline, from Sam.

I'm gonna really need Michelle Stafford to come on to GH at some point.
