Christel Khalil's Agent on Y&R Audition Claim: "There's No Way in Hell That She Went Out on an Audition"

Christel Khalil's real-life battle with Mavrick Artists Agency is better than any storyline The Young and the Restless has going right now. The talent agency has filed a counter suit against the actress, who recently filed a breach of contract suit against them, reports The Wrap.

Earlier this month, The Wrap reported Khalil filed suit against Mavrick, alleging,

In her suit, she accused the agency of stealing funds and not sending her out on a satisfactory number of auditions. She says they even humilated her by sending the actress (left) out for a spot on her own soap opera, where she has worked for the past decade, even winning a Daytime Emmy for the role of Lily Winters Ashby.

In their counter claim, Mavrick is alleging Khalil owes them money—reportedly $20,000 in additional commission—and that she never went for an audition at Y&R.

"There's no way in hell that she went out on an audition," Sprecher said. "That just couldn’t have happened. Do you think 'Young & the Restless' is so stupid that their casting office would have scheduled such an audition? It wasn't an audition -- it was a submission."

This agency has no idea what it's getting itself into. Khalil's fans will no doubt soon commission a Goodyear Blimp to fly over their headquarters.

I am just a layman...but what does that terminology mean? "It wasn't an audition, it was a submission".

Why does this whole situation seem like it's something that could be turned into a sit-com? Yes, I'm sure it's embarrassing for her, but at the same time I find it funny. Maybe a classic case of the right hand doesn't know what the left one is doing.... Innocent

Audition= Casting office meets with prospective actor in person and has them give sample performance for consideration

Submission= actors agent sends casting office info on the actor represented for consideration or send prospective role from casting office to the actor they represent for consideration (or both). But no in person meeting.

The audition wouldn't have happened in this case because the Y&R office would have recognized Khalil as already an employee. Still a bit of an embarrassment for the agent in charge of submissions (unless the casting office hiring was concealed (unlikely)

I've been on this blog and the Y&R threads for a couple of years now and as much as I love the comments people leave it disgusts me that so many feel it ALRIGHT to throw name calling out there to make points.

The use of TWIT or WET DRIP or some of the more colorful names dropped not only for Khalil but for other actors and actresses not only is childish and somewhat bully-ish, but also falls into the category of cowardice because I don't that half or more of you would actually throw those names at this actress or others if you were face to face. And if you did, it's pure bullying.

I'm tired of coming on and seeing such vitriolic attacks on actors and even other posters.

Sure, you may believe, as I don't, that Khalil is not a good actress and that her performance as lily brig the show to a bore. That is your right. But to attack the actress with such venom and mean-spiritedness is a waste of time.

Think how you would like it if someone said this abt you, you sister daughter mother brother father or son and then realize you shouldn't be doing it.

Judge her acting. Not her person that no one on here knows personally.

Bravo! I felt the same about the attacks on Melissa Reeves last year and many others that you see constantly on this site. And I have to admit I'm sometimes guilty of making them myself.

Thank you. Seems to me that CK may have a point if they admit to submitting for a role on a show that she is currently working on.

In a way this is good for her. With all the attention it's been getting, a lot more people now know who she is.

And perhaps the new agents that she signs with will send her out on legit auditions/submissions and hopefully, hopefully she'll end up leaving Y&R, which would be good for the show and us fans who don't particularly like her acting and the fact that she's a bore on the show.

If JFP was smart and not evil, she would actually make this into a storyline on the show. Lily could try to become an actress, and then get into a battle with her agency. Would be a cool storyline!

I DO judge her acting. All the time. She's still a twit. And I consider the label time well spent--not a waste of time.

I honestly don't see this whole situation as a big deal. How about all the jobs that are listed but not the employer in many cases. It would be easy for someone to apply and not realize it is where they are working. Not a good thing but it happens.

Move on. And if it was a submission. I could see there that would happen.

Interview. No. But submission yes. I am sure it happens more than we think.

It's funny, but really not I guess, if you are this actress.

And it's a given that ANYTIME her pic is posted or she's mentioned...these type of posts will come. Her fans don't post here much.

I certainly don't know much about how Hwood works. But in general: Why file a lawsuit when there are other ways to settle the dispute?? It sounds like she was actually obligated to try arbitration with Mavrick first. I think Mavrick has a point - filing a lawsuit makes this public and messy. It makes it look like she is trying to destroy their rep.

Or, is she just trying to get out of paying her fees?

The whole thing smells to me like sour grapes because she had an unsuccessful year.

Will other talent agencies even want to work with her after doing this?

I think a lawsuit was the WRONG move.

That's because her fans are hysterical, obsessed and rabid with a zero-tolerance policy to say anything REMOTELY negative about Lily or her portrayer. You can something completely innocuous like, "I didn't care for Lily's hair today" and they will flip out.

I don't care for her character and she's not nearly my favorite actress. That being said, I agree that she surely and rightfully so expects her talent agency not to send her an audition OR a submission for a show she is already on. I'd be pissed too. That was a wasted 'Submission'. They should have put that energy towards a show she wasn't already on.

IMO

Yeah, she may be getting her name out there, but she's also putting the Mavrick's agency name out there. Are other agencies gonna want to work with her after all this?
