OWN Orders More Episodes of The Haves and the Have Nots

Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots is keeping a smile on Oprah's face. The former talk show queen's cable network OWN announced it has ordered four more episodes of the cable drama. The order brings The Haves and Have Nots' first season episode count to 36.

OWN also announced it is ordering 26 additional episodes of Tyler Perry's Love Thy Neighbor.

Watch a clip of John Schneider's Jim Cryer confronting Tika Sumpter's Candace about a pregnancy test from "My Name is Veronica" after the jump!

Why Candace Tells Jim to Leave...and Never Come Back

If it hadn't been for Candace, Jim says his daughter, Amanda, would probably have died after her latest suicide attempt. I gotta admit, I'm not that big of a Tyler Perry fan, and I didn't like this show at first. It kind of looks cheap, and the dialogue grated me at first, but slowly I've been turned around and I really actually enjoy the show. Yes, its over the top...and kind of ridiculous, but I'm enjoying it.

EDIT: And can someone please tell the gay black guy to sit his happy ass down somewhere? I'm so tired of him making googly eyes at the other guy. I'm over him.

I'm completely ignoring the fact that they renewed that shitty comedy, but, I am loving that they are definitely invested in The Haves and Have Nots.

Oprah has decided to put survival before quality. I'm her fan for life so I can't find it in me to blame her for that.

BAD, JUST BAD. THE WRITING IS BAD. THE ACTING IS BAD. THE DIALOGUE IS BAD. THE DIRECTING IS BAD. TYLER PERRY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF FOR PUTTING THIS DRIVEL AND ABOUT 90 PERCENT OF THE OTHER THINGS HE HAS DONE IN PRODUCTION!

LOL you're right he is really pathetic, Wyatt doesn't even want to be his home boy let alone sleep with him. He's almost bordering on psychotic......maybe that's what is gonna happen.

As I have said, John S. turns me on like a fucking light bulb (ever since the little sweetie played Bo Duke) so I am not going anywhere!

I can deal with a show having a gay character who happens to be a manipulative bastard. In fact, those two saintly twinks on Days have begun to bore me to tears. What is disturbing is how truly pathetic and caricaturish this particular character is.

I suppose if he's written by a self-hating closet case, you really cannot expect anything else.

In order to survive, OWN has to appeal to the lowest common denominator?
I'll not watch the network until they start airing some intelligent programming.

I'm not sure I get the connection with the "lowest common denominator" comment.

Because of the gay character's behavior?

I like the show. It's better that any of the daytime soaps IMO. At least there are black characters who are more than just window dressing, unlike what we see in daytime. I just can't wait for Jim to find out that Candace encouraged Amanda to use her sexual wiles to get her rapist professor to give her a good grade. Jim is going to hold Candace partially responsible for his daughter's rape, and that's when the shit is REALLY gonna hit the fan.
