HomeTVMTVSherri Shepherd on Miley Cyrus’ VMA Performance: “That Was Called a Ho Move!” Jillian Bowe August 27, 2013 MTV, MTV Video Music Awards, NBC, Talk Shows, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The View, Video Music Video Awards 13 Comments Leave it to Sherri Shepherd to speak her mind! Monday night The View co-host dropped in on The Tonight Show and didn’t hold back on what she thought about Miley Cyrus’ raunch-tastic performance at the 2013 MTV Music Video Awards. Shepherd quipped: Oh she’s going to hell in a twerking handbasket. That girl… See this is the thing about Miley Cyrus, when I was growing up that wasn’t called twerking, they got this cute, artistic name for it. That was called a ho move. Watch more of Shepherd's comedic snark below! Photo of Miley Cyrus by PR Photos 13 Responses blake3b August 27, 2013 It was trashy. She and gaga were trying to be barely dressed to get attention. Too bad it’s not about the music, it’s all about the sex and shock. Gaga dressed like a nun then stripped that off and was almost naked. Sad. Log in to Reply DaytimeFan0001 August 27, 2013 The Abortion Queen, Sherri Shepherd is throwing stones at Miley? Really? I’m pretty sure Sherri was more than a hoe at Miley’s age. What a pig. Log in to Reply SoapArmageddon August 27, 2013 Miley’s “performance” was definitely ho-ish. That girl is trying too hard. But this whole outrage, some of it fake, reeks of a double standard. There have been some extremely misogynistic and dehumanizing performances on the VMAs done by rappers, pop stars, and rockers (all males) in the past, and there was barely a peep from people in the media. It’s only when Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Hannah Montana get down and dirty that we start hearing that it is the end of civilization as we know it. Log in to Reply pferrando August 27, 2013 Gross and yuck. I don’t even watch these “awards” anymore. A VMA on a channel that doesn’t even play those videos? Really? I know I’m getting old, but MTV isn’t what it was when I was a youngin’. Log in to Reply logan_echolls August 27, 2013 The only reason it was disgusting is because her body is ugh. She looked like a little boy running around there. That outfit did nothing for her butt. Also she was just trying way too hard. Her singing was (as Kelly Clarkson called it) pitchystripper. Her sticking out her tongue every 2 second just looked pathetic. I have never seen someone so thirsty for attention. She wants to tell everyone she’s a woman but with that body and all that immaturity, it doesn’t show. Now when Britney came out as a woman at the VMAs, that was fantastic. Nothing raunchy about it. Log in to Reply logan_echolls August 27, 2013 Also Sherri needs to shut up. I can’t stand hypocrites like her. Just like Natalie Cole saying it wasn’t right that Amy Winehouse won a Grammy because she was on drugs when Natalie Cole was the crackhead of the 70’s!! Sherri is so judgmental and thinks just because she married somebody’s grandpa she can give out advice and condemn people. This heifer didn’t even know Judaism came before Christianity!! When she is asked a question about Christianity she barely knows the answers. She’s an idiot. Log in to Reply cubsgirl August 28, 2013 Honestly what bugged me was her sticking her tongue out every five seconds. There was nothing sexy about that. For me that is really what made it trashy. She was just trying to hard to say “I am not a Disney kids anymore”. I thought Britney did it right back in the day I thought both Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were both showing they were adults better than Miley did. Even that video for the song she sang has nothing to do with the video. It is just 3 minutes of her doing outragous things to show she isn’t a teen anymore. It is my same problem with Bieber, instead of showing class as they move from the teen to adult performer, they think by getting a bunch of tattoos, acting like a punk it is going to work when it just makes them look like fools. Log in to Reply PennySoap August 28, 2013 She was not only a charicature of the women in the Blurred Lines Video but a charicature of herself! Log in to Reply pumpkin August 28, 2013 I didn’t watch the award show but saw the videos over and over on all the shows. The media is blowing this up. It is expected on this particular award show. WOW All the Sherrie hate. Actually I saw Leno and it was a quick comment in a comedic way. From what I saw I think it made Robin Thicke look goofy because she looked so young. I guess she is 20 at this point. There was not a match that made them look compatible, just icky. Personally I never liked Miley C. She had the moxy to gain the young fans and keep that Disney show popular and up and running for years. I think she is very much like her father. I never liked Billy Ray C either. I just didn’t get him. He happened to be lucky to have recorded Achy Breaky Heart at the right time, etc. I remember way back when Elvis died and there were specials, etc that he stuck himself up front just like Miley would do. They are both alike. Funny how I remember the comments about how everyone couldn’t figure out the connection between Billy Ray and Elvis. Like I said he made himself more important at this one show that memorialized Elvis. I remember that this many years later. Just sayin that when I see Miley, I see Billy Ray back in the day. They act alike. I think Billy Ray is on Pierce(CNN) tonight. As soon as I heard that I thought he is taking advantage of the publicity. Both alike and I don’t like either. As far as the actual outrageousness, that is what was expected on that show for years. Log in to Reply pjc722 August 28, 2013 I don’t always agree with Sherry… HELLO THE EARTH IS FLAT… but here I do agree. That a ho-move! Why is Miley trying so hard to be cool?! She has $500 million bucks in the bank. You buy COOL. You are cool. YOU Don’t beg for COOL! Log in to Reply tashikins August 28, 2013 Never understood Miley’s appeal. Log in to Reply blake3b August 28, 2013 She said she was going to shock people more than Madonna and Britney’s kiss, but Miley’s will go down as desperate and willing to do anything for attention, like Gaga. Madonna, Britney, and Christina have the talent to back it up and didn’t come across as a “rave” girl on ecstasy! Log in to Reply pferrando August 29, 2013 I’m tired of these little girls/boys who are child stars and then as they approach legal age or above they feel the need to act out. It’s the same pattern over and over… Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
