General Hospital: Perkies Observations

Nik overhears Britt making plans with a realtor to look for a place to stay, and tells her that she’s not in any condition to be roaming around.  He warns it’s too much to handle on her own, and the stress isn’t good for her or the baby.  Nikolas feels the baby’s father should bear some responsibility, and needs to help Britt find a place to stay.

Kiki’s upset Morgan didn’t come home all night, but he tells her that he was out looking for Sonny, who left a goodbye note.  He explains Sonny is bipolar, and they are worried about him.  Kiki assures Morgan she’s there for him.

Olivia continues to worry Sonny did something to himself, but Dante reassures her Sonny wouldn’t kill himself. He believes Sonny is simply off clearing his head.

AJ is grateful Michael is at the courthouse supporting him.  Michael claims there are many people who care about AJ, including Liz, despite what AJ said to her about Jake.  AJ isn’t so certain, and wants to plead guilty.

Carly finds Franco getting dressed, and he informs Carly he’s being released from the hospital just in time to go to his pre-trial hearing.  Franco complains he won’t enjoy prison, but Carly thinks he may have changed enough to sway a jury.  Patrick gives Franco a clean bill of health.  Franco asks if Carly can come with him to the courthouse, since he has no one else. Diane asks for something mysterious from Brad, and he gives it to her in a bag.

Felix and Sabrina discuss Patrick’s loss.  Felix tells her that he almost kissed Brad.  Felix accuses Brad of being a liar.  Brad claims his feelings for Felix aren’t a lie, but Felix vows he’ll never return the feelings.

Carly sees Liz reading the newspaper about AJ’s arrest, and tells her that she knew AJ would disappoint Michael. She feels it’s good both Michael and Liz found out what kind of man AJ really is.  Carly cares about Liz because of their connection, and she’s worried about her.  She hopes Liz has now seen AJ’s true colors.

Diane tries to convince AJ not to plead guilty, since it will mean an immediate life sentence.  AJ feels he’s lost everything, but Michael tells him that he needs to stand up and fight.

Michael calls Liz and tells her what AJ is planning on doing. He asks her to come to the courthouse and change AJ’s mind.

Britt tells Nikolas that Brad doesn’t want to be involved with the baby, because it wasn’t part the deal they had.  Nikolas still feels Brad should help, and offers to go and talk to Brad.  Britt doesn’t want Nik fighting her battles, but he leaves anyway.

Patrick tells Sabrina he had gotten used to the idea of co-parenting with Britt, and was looking forward to a son.  Sabrina promises to help.

The judge asks AJ how he pleads, and he hesitates until Liz shows up. AJ pleads not guilty.  Diane asks for bail, which the judge denies, since AJ is a flight risk.  AJ thanks Liz for coming, and apologizes for what he said about Jake.  Liz can’t make any promises and guarantee she’ll be there every day, but is here for him today.

Morgan and Kiki join Dante and Olivia on the search for Sonny.  Dante feels they need to call Michael, which angers Morgan, since Michael is spending time with AJ.  Dante feels Michael knows Sonny best, and may think of something they haven’t.  Olivia tells Morgan she can no longer talk to Connie. She warns him not to do the same with Michael.

Michael gets to Sonny’s and agrees to put his differences with Morgan aside to find their father.

Sabrina arrives at Windermere to confront Britt.

Nik finds Brad, and tells him it’s time to man up.

Franco’s hearing begins, and the judge reads the list of multiple murder charges.  Diane moves for a complete dismissal, saying Franco is not responsible.  When the judge asks who is, Diane pulls out the bag Brad gave her. She removes Franco’s tumor in a jar from the bag, and sets it down.

This really wasn't a good episode for me.

I hate Franco and don't care about his woe is me, I have to pay for my crimes baloney that hes trying to play Carly with. I hate that Carly will fall for it.

I hate Brad and don't care if he has feewings for Felix that aren't returned.

I hate Sonny and don't care if he went off and killed himself.

I hate the writing that Patrick would benefit oh so much with a son, because somehow a daughter just doesn't measure up.

The positive; Liz looked pretty in the yellow dress and her hair is to die for.

the Franco story is the MOST IDIOTIC scenario EVER on daytime. PLEASE! Any DA worth his weight in gold could get Franco back in prison for his crimes. Any judge unless he is getting paid would see what Franco did and not release him.

Honestly, throw him in prison. Don't let us see him. And in a year, release him.

Carly, as she is now IS AS STUPID AS STUPID can be. She hates everyone for what they have done or did ... HI AJ... but she can forgive Franco?

stupid.

SOmeone just shot Sabrina dead! And Felix too. These two characters are pathetic in how they have NO LIVES.

But the show was watchable and a B in my books today

Silly me. I actually enjoyed today's show. I guess I'm out of the loop once again. (However, at least I'm not voluteering to watch a show that churns my innards into knots.)

Silly, silly me.

Hated all things Olivia & Sonny, including the "tomorrow on GH" scenes. His histrionics over Connie are simply not believable.

Elizabeth looked beautiful today. And I'm sorry I can't make up my mind. I LOVE her with Nicholas, but I don't hate her with AJ. I do want AJ to catch a break, if just to make those sanctimonious hypocrites (Carly, Olivia) look like the fools they are.

Loved that Michael called Monica Grandmother; he's morphing into a Q and that makes me so happy. Now that Franco's going "home" can he get his shares back from Ava's control and take ELQ away from Tracy.

And as much as you all hate Kiki, it's time she and Silas had a talk.

So obvious Brad is not Britt's baby daddy. Also that Sabrina is going to have to help Britt give birth.

I'm with you Gord. Except for Sonny references, I'm greatly entertained

I agree, TV Gord. I enjoyed today, I tend to enjoy the show more often that not. If I just simple detested a good portion of the lead characters I'd just find another show to watch.

I Hope the GH producers don't bring no more one life to live actors on GH we have 3 already and that is enough and we see kike practically every day. I like me some Sonny he the man he need a new love interest.

Everyday I pray that I come online and hope that there is a article posted on this site saying that Roger Howarth is leaving GH...I hate the character of Franco that much...and this comes from a fan of RH. AND... as much as I am sick of Kiki eating up the airtime EVERY DAM DAY, I know there is no chance in hell she is leaving, so I continue to pray for the first.

Everything you said in your post Perkie, I could co-sign.

I truly don't want Liz with AJ...he makes my skin crawl...I no longer feel sorry for him. It is unbelievable to me, that Franco and Carly will now develop a relationship...Sorry...They made such a big mistake casting RH as Franco...I really don't see how they can ever make him work...even blaming the tumor. I do think Nik and Britt have chemistry...but she continues to lie to him...I have to give her credit in that she doesn't want to use him, and tried to leave...and he stopped her...Even if she is pregnant, she is not helpless. He has been warned by a few how bad she is, he has seen with his own eyes he can't trust her...yet he continues to want to help her. Nice is nice...and stupid is stupid. Just a matter of time before this blows up.

This episode was a bit blah...but the show for the most part has been good lately.

I do watch soaps to be entertained, really, I do.

But since I watch a soap daily, I have a different "relationship" with daytime soap character than I do with characters from a primetime or cable show. When I watch a character daily for years, I feel like I "know" them. So for me, a lot of the drama and entertainment comes from seeing these characters that I "know", in these extreme circumstances and seeing how they will react.

As a result, there were a lot of things today that I found hard to watch. Carly by Franco's side made absolutely no sense...her conversation with Liz made less sense. She hasn't spoken to Michael because she didn't know what to say? Since when has that stopped her? She doesn't want to say I told you so? And if Carly has "grown", then what prompted this growth?

After months of seeing Patrick care less about the child emotionally and only going so far as to meet his obligations, his pain (while i am happy to see him have balls), doesn't really ring true to me.

Franco is a completely different character than he was before. Characters are redeemed all the time, however the people around that character shouldn't automatically accept it.

Sonny is in pain offscreen. I am a Sonny fan an am confused as to why his pain is discussed but not seen during the immediate aftermath....I guess right now, this story is more about AJ.

As much as I hate Kiki, I don't understand why she shows so much concern about Franco and hasn't spoken to Silas. I don't like them, but from a story standpoint, it doesn't make sense that she goes to the place where Silas works to see the man that she thought was her father for about a month. Again, i don't want to see it, but it is a logical part of the story that is being forgotten.

This show, like most, has its ups and downs. Yesterday was somewhere in the middle. For me, it was saved by Liz, and the Corinthos family together (I ignore Kiki)

Excellent thoughts, thecourt99. That was an enjoyable read. The one thing I have a thought on is this:

Kiki has spent her life wondering who her father is. When she finds out, it seems believable to me that she would form a quick bond with him. (Also, you have to consider that a month in soap time is much longer in the real world.) As for her lack of connection with Silas (I like him, but he's not exactly the most welcoming of souls), I chalk that up to two possibilities. One, that genetics don't guarantee bonding (any family that has adopted a child will say you don't have to be genetically linked to feel a love that nothing could break); and two, tptb just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks Gord....

I understand Kiki wondering who her father is, but the quick bond doesn't ring true to me because (1) she knows her mother lied to her because Franco was a baddie, so it was for her safety, (2) she is still mad at her mother, even though her reasons for lying were legit, (3) the bond was formed before the tumor thing..so when she accepted him she was still under the impression that he was a killer vindicated by DVD. I just don't get that.

Regarding Silas, I completely agree that it is a matter of managing storylines, which dovetails into the bloated cast and how some stories are dropped for so long you forget about them or stop caring.

In a way it does for me. There always seems to be a sense of wonder when a character finds a long lost parent no matter the heinous-ness of the person and that's what she seemed to be exibiting after the intial "ew gross" moment in the Q living room. Plus, she and Michael bonded over their finding their screwed up fathers, and Michael giving his bio dad a chance so she may be clinging to that.

Also, I think there is a certain amount of sticking it to Ava going on.

As for why she hasn't had a scene with Silas, what we've seen transpire onscreen for the past month has only been a day or two in PC time. Carly stopping Franco from shooting himself on the bridge was ages ago in real time, but when she was talking to him yesterday she referred to it as a couple of days ago.

Brava!!
All these are spot on excellent points. Especially concerning Patrick and Carly. Patrick's hurt doesn't ring true because we haven't seen him bond over this baby. We haven't seen him with or around Britt at all. We haven't seen him at any appointments, nothing. For the 8 months of the pregnancy, they were so busy trying to prove he wasn't the father, he never bonded with the baby. But this is Ron's ADHD acting up again and jumping all around storylines without telling a real story.

The Carly storyline makes no sense. Carly butts in Michael's life no matter what yet she doesn't want to talk to him cuz she doesn't know what to say?

For me it's been obvious from the get go that Cartiti can't write for my girl Carly. They think she's Blair. Remember how dumb she was during the Johnny/Todd mess? Ugh.

Now she's basically brain dead and ooc. As much as i don't care about Sonny's dramas right now, i can say that there is no way in hell that Carly would pick being around FrankenTodd over rasing hell in Sonny's livingroom and helping her sons find their father.

It's funny that you say that. When Laura Wright entered the scene on Friday's show, for a moment, I thought it was Kassie.

Sabrina just comes off as incredibly fake. Saying things like "I'm your worst nightmare" or "baby daddy" is just WTHellery coming from her? I mean, where were these lines when she was still emptying bedpans in her glasses and naturally curly hair? So, she puts on a little makeup and uses the straightening iron, and it simultaneously gets to talk slang and be fierce and assertive? I'm sorry, but come on. This has bothered me from the get-go. So which one is it? Which Sabrina is the real thing? Was the whole Ugly Betty thing an act, and THIS now here is the real thing, or is this just an act? Because there is no way these two "personas" can overlap. All in all, she just comes off as a fake, foney, wannabe-bitch-type, who doesn't really excel in anything she does anymore.

Loved the Britt/Nik scenes again, but really, couldn't she have stopped Nik from going over to the hospital to confront Brad? And/or at least warn Brad that he's coming? That was the second time she failed to warn him about something going awry.

Liz looked beautiful in the yellow and very fierce when she walked into the courtroom. Liked that a lot.

AJ needs to beg and grovel a lot. I'm glad she stayed unphased.

It was good seeing Dante, Michael and Morgan in the same scenes. (Finally! Why the hell did it take so long to get them together!!! And why were no discussions exchanged about them becoming uncles, etc. Fail from writing.)

However, there is no way Sonny would ever even comtemplate suicide due to that nutcase Connie. Brenda is the only one who could drive him to such lengths. And these days not sure even her.

Kiki suddenly being so concerned over her notDad is utter bs. Firstly, not only these things about not even knowing him, secondly - HELLO - the guy is a serial killer and a rapist? Who the hell even wants to know such a person was their parent in the first place. Secondly, she now isn't his daughter, she should be sighing in relief and get to know her REAL father, the doctor, who although is not very appealing as a person, at least is not a rapist and a murderer. (Btw, I'm never ever buying that F. isn't a rapist, he is twice over. Responsible for Sam and Michael.)

All The FrankenTodd/Carly drivel is just pure shit............... There are a million reasons why this storyline is hideous, implausible, and is just in no way being able to be justified. No way in tha hell.
