HomeTVGood Morning AmericaAre Good Morning America Hosts Heading For a Contract Negotiations “Nightmare”? Luke Kerr October 23, 2013 2 Comments ABC popped a lot of corks when Good Morning America dethroned the Today Show as the top morning show, but with great success comes big pay raises. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Elliott, Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer are all in contract negotiations at the same time, in what has been dubbed "a nightmare" situation for Ben Sherwood, head of ABC News, by a competitor. Reportedly, Spencer and Elliott, who co-hosted the summer spinoff Good Afternoon America in 2012, are said to be looking to grow their brands through larger roles at ABC — or elsewhere. Meanwhile, Roberts, 52, who returned full-time to GMA in September after a four-day-a-week schedule following a bone marrow transplant, has plenty of options within the Disney-ABC organization, including her own talk show. "There are a lot of things on the table for Robin," says one source. Photo credit: ABC 2 Responses pumpkin October 24, 2013 Cannot stand Spencer at all. Yucko. I don’t watch GMA. Elliott does not stand out for me also. Lara Spencer overdoes the friendliness to the point of being fake. I think she is no different than what people are saying about Katie overdoing it and then coming off fake. It is just the result of not being relaxed in the job. All you have to do is watch hosts that like people and what they are doing. ie, Rachael Rae and Steve Harvey or Wendy Williams. I could go on. There are much better personalities out there.
