HomeSpoilersPromos & PreviewsNoah and Kyle Inherit The Newman/Abbott Rivalry on The Young and the Restless (SNEAK PEEK) Jamey Giddens November 29, 2013 19 Comments Noah Newman's (Robert Adamson) grandpa has despised Kyle Abbott's (Hartley Sawyer) dad for decades on The Young and the Restless — though Victor (Eric Braeden) always has had a hard on, I mean soft spot, for Kyle's ravishing Aunt Ashley (Eileen Davidson). On Monday's episode of Y&R, the strapping young lads are preparing to take their family feud into another generation! Meanwhile, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) are scheming and fighting like wild cats again. Now if they would just jump one another's bones for old time's sake. Watch Monday's Y&R sneak peek after the jump! 19 Responses TraceyAbbot101 November 29, 2013 why don’t Kyle and Noah just start making out, and get it over with? Log in to Reply TraceyAbbot101 November 29, 2013 Oh I forgot to add this: now that Dylan is a “member” of the Newman clan, it won’t be long before HE is running Newman-Chancellor! Log in to Reply pferrando November 29, 2013 If the writers can step up their game, this could be good. Jean’s stuff starts soon. We’ll see. Log in to Reply NathanHastingsSr. November 29, 2013 Recast kyle asap… Log in to Reply bobbyew November 29, 2013 Make it last as long as the Victor, Jack rivalry. Not for just a week and then let it go. Log in to Reply harlee490 November 29, 2013 I’m all for the next generation but not with this Kyle, he’s a foot or two taller than Noah…it’s like looking at Lurch vs cousin Itt having a round :O Please either recast Kyle or bring back Blake Hood…geez Hartley isn’t YR material either. Log in to Reply pjc722 November 29, 2013 Out of no where Noah and Kyle are in a rivalry?!! Seriously?! At least Kyle has held down a job that required him to understand some sort of powerpoint presentation application or an accounting program OR EVEN HOW TO TURN THE DARN THING ON! Noah was just a few weeks ago STOKED that his lover… I mean, roommie… was able to negotiate a job for him as an assistant at Jabot and only started at Newman a few days prior to this scene and we’re suppose to buy rivalry?! Seriously, this show needs to decide what direction it wants to go in. And, of course, Jack and Jill went up a hill to push Victor down. Jack opened his mouth and told everyone on the way and went tumbling back down… WITH Jill rolling behind. Log in to Reply angrierblackerman November 29, 2013 Can we get Tom Pelphrey as Kyle? I know he is a bit older, but he looks young. If Marcy…er…Emme Rylan can play 18 years old, then… Log in to Reply elsarilla November 29, 2013 I’ve never commented on here before, but I just can’t take it anymore. Y&R has stories that never finish. We know the answers to these stories and all we see is them trying to figure out what we already know. How interesting is that? Log in to Reply FoxCrane November 30, 2013 In this scene, the difference in ‘stature’ seems more a Noah issue than one with Kyle. I don’t buy Adamson’s Noah as a corporate executive. (It wouldn’t have worked with Schmidt or Kleintank either.) They probably should have stuck with fashion photographer. Where’s the Kyle that looked like Blake Hood. Then things could get hot in here!” And I must say … I hate Victor. But seeing him with Ashley always makes me smile. Victor and Ashley always had a soft spot in my heart. I LOVED their reunion in Paris a few years back. Log in to Reply elsarilla November 30, 2013 Now, all we will see is Dylan, who seems to be uncomfortable in this role, go back to Port Charles!!! So now we have a new character with Billy? Enough of the grieving, a new character all about the grieving? it’s just depressing, and now boring! Does paternity ring a bell? Maybe it will finish sometime in 2014 after Nick and Sharon decide to marry~again, after Cane and Lilly get their dance studio, and Victor turns against Nicky~again…I’m on the edge of my seat…NOT! Log in to Reply FoxCrane November 30, 2013
why don’t Kyle and Noah just start making out, and get it over with?
I’m not sensing that kind of vibe. But if they want to do something like that, then have Chloe reconnect with Billy after David Tom takes over the role, which would give Kevin a reason to “seek comfort” in the hot, patiently-waiting arms of Detective Chavez. Those two are combustible. Log in to Reply tedew November 30, 2013 Noah is too fickle to last in any career at this point; how many has he had lately anyway? Plus he seems to be in that magical group in Genoa City that can walk into any job without any iota of education or experience. Also, why are two “men” whose mothers were both used, abused and hated by their new boss working for him anyway? Log in to Reply pjc722 November 30, 2013 Elsarilla, I’ve been saying it and thinking it for the longest time. They start things off and then drop them without a mention. Remember Noah’s photography? Or Devon’s record label? Or even Victoria writing a children’s book? Or any of the times she was going to start at NEWMAN? And TEDEW, you are soooooooo right on Noah and Kyle. I would buy Kyle’s motivation more if it involved exacting revenge on Victor for abusing his mother over decades. (Sure, Diane was a bitch but not one that deserved death) And Noah’s mother has been ridiculed by both his grandparents and in front of Noah’s sister that the more dynamic aspect of the corporate story would have been Noah going to work for Jack and Kyle to Victor and along the way Noah discovers that Kyle is a spy and he has to decide what to do… help his grandfather who belittle’s his mom or betray the one nice guy in town. That’s story. Jill just keeps giving us the easy stuff. Log in to Reply pferrando November 30, 2013 Regarding the writing…that was one of the biggest issues with Josh and his peripheral stories. I’m hoping this new writing team corrects that and sticks with a story. I’d like for them to get back to more long term corporate tales, but they need to keep all their players in place long enough to do so. Everyone it seems has worked at Jabot, Newman, and Chancellor all this past year. Log in to Reply Yoryla November 30, 2013 Yeah, and this is just a throwaway scene, not a storyline. There hasn’t been a real enemy-storyline since Kay/Jill and Victor/Jack. None of these younger generations have formed lasting enemyships with anyone. Nick/Adam comes closest, and Adam/Vicki just fizzles because Adam gives out the vibe he doesn’t care about what she does at all, lol. And there has been no sign of a Newman/Abbott fight that is really moving onto the next generation. Despite RA’s considerable talents, I just don’t buy the character in this situation and, as you said, it has nothing to do with the actor; it just seems out of nowhere after him just getting back into photography. Next thing you know, he’ll get pissed off at Grandpa within a week and try to jet to Jabot out of spite. Or him and Devon will both quit their jobs and have another go at their “music” careers(after which Devon will hook up with Hilary Anne because that’s just being telegraphed like crazy right now IMO…although hooking up with Mason might be more interesting at this point ). I don’t know, some parts of the show aren’t bad but I’m still not rushing home to watch it either. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
