Should Ashley Abbott Stick Around For Stitch on The Young and the Restless? (POLL)

To say The Young and the Restless’ Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) has been unlucky in love would be the understatement of the past four decades in Genoa City! Everytime the cosmetics heiress lands a man, something dreadful happens to take her happiness away.

With all the gloom and doom in Genoa City, could a sunny outlook be on the horizon for Ashley in the form of Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan)?

This week on Y&R, Ashley is taken to the E.R. by Abby (Melissa Ordway), after spraining her ankle during the Thanksgiving holiday. Sparks fly between Stitch and Ashley, when he checks out her injuries and starts to do a little flirting.

Yes, we know the good doctor has a never-before-seen wife and son, but should they come to Genoa City, or should Stitch and Ashley have a go at romance?

Should Ashley stick around Genoa City for Stitch?

Those two would be smoking hot together!

The fact that he's married would make it an inappropriate and even hotter romance. Smile

I had to watch ED's scenes, and they're definitely showing a more fierce and fun Ashley than before. Could it be the effect rubbing off from how successful she was as Kristen? If Y&R would write her more in this mischievous, take no prisoners type of attitude, I would certainly watch her scenes gladly.

As usual, Yoryla preaches TRUTH! Eileen is more than capable of giving us a sassy, fierce, multi-layered Ashley... but the writers have to help, too!

I'd pay $$$ to see take-no-prisoners Ashely mixing it up with the hot doctor and his cray-to-the-hey wife, Annie Dutton 2.0!!! Take mah coins, bitches!

My dream storyline is Annie 2.0 driving Ashley totally bonkers (lol), to the point of complete mental trauma and a split personality disorder! I want Eileen to play goody Ashley, domineering Linley, meek Poley, man-eater Miley and psycho Crayley!

Stitch would then have to save her brain and vajayjay from the brink of insanity and ecstasy; five times over! Count it, FIVE times over, lol.

Where my Emmy at?????

Sean Carrigan has shown chemistry with pretty much everyone they've allowed him to interact with, so it was absolutely no surprise that he clicked with ED's Ashley Abbott. I'd like to see Eileen Davidson back, but the writers need to find a way to weave her into at least 2 stories EFFECTIVELY. (The same goes for Beth Maitland's Traci--where is her contract, her involvement in multiple stories, and her romance?) Anyway, Ashley needs to be back to have at least TWO stories: her extended flirtation-to-romance with Dr. Ben Rayburn AND her involvement in working at Jabot and being involved in business with Jack, Neil, and the Jabot staff, actually WORKING in the lab again--maybe with someone who likes Dr. Ben?

If I notice one thing in the last few weeks since Josh Griffith has been out and Shelly Altman has been promoted is that there is more focusing on relationships and interactions and flirtations. Today, we've seen Ashley and Ben flirting, Abby talking with Ashley about Tyler's ex, Mariah, Devon and Hilary sending off little sparks... and that's just halfway through (West Coast)! The writing still has a ways to go to get back to being very Y&R-like, but the balance is what matters. Romance, flirtation, regret, jealousy...and a little business and a splash of revenge thrown in there occasionally!

WRITERS: Give us a better idea about Dr. Ben's personal life and keep chem-testing him with Ashley!

NO...I would much rather Tracy get a new romance with Stitch. I am over it always being Ashley getting the guys. Besides, Tracy is on more.

The way Stitch looked back at her at the hospital was hot. I wish there would have been a fantasy scene with Stitch removing that lab coat and those scrubs. HOT HOT HOT!

I've always loved the character so I'll tune in just for Eileen's scenes because the rest of the show is just awful Imo...

It's been a long time since I've seen instant chemistry like these two had.

We know he's having some marital issues, so let's just let things happen naturally. Evil

Phelps needs to finally do something right, and get ED back on contract. Every scene she was in today proves how much she's missed. I can't believe anyone who's watched YR since the 80's finds Ashley boring. Granted she HAS had some really bad writing in the past several years thrown at her, but it's the writing that's boring, NOT the character.

And I agree with DanMan. Since JG's writing ended there has been a positive shift in the interactions of the characters (mixing them up quite a bit). AND they are interacting on our favorite sets...Abbott mansion, GCAC, Winters, Newman. Feels more familiar.

It's funny because I was just thinking the other day how hot Ashley and Stitch would be together so this was nice to see(and Sean Carrigan is ALWAYS nice to see). Obviously the show has plans for Stitch now that SC's on contract so I'm all for Eileen being back on a permanent basis as long as the writing's there(i.e. not getting haunted by a "dead" ex-wife of Victor's or suffering through a hysterical pregnancy).

That said, today's show was actually good, with some parts bordering on excellent. The Billy/Victoria scenes are still wildly depressing, but then you have Jack/Jill, Ash/Stitch/Abby and the Newman-Chancellor stuff with Noah and Kyle(who's becoming slightly less useless of late). I even thought the Devon/Hilary/Mason scenes were pretty good(and it was great only having to HEAR about Lane and not actually see them on my screen; same goes for Dylan). And of course, as a long-time Victor/Ashley fan--I know they share children but I've never understood the slavish loyalty every regime has to Victor/Nikki--it's always nice to see those two sharing scenes.

Chris...I think that the Victor/Nikki/Ashley triangle is one of Daytime's best.

I am one of those that prefers Vic and Nikki together, but there have been some great stories with Ashley as well.

All involved has chemistry together. I love some good Nikki/Ashley verbal slap downs. And I think this was MAB...but how great was it when Nikki gave in and went to Ashley to "rescue" Victor from his state at the time. Good soap.

If we could get her back on the show full time maybe these three new women writers could channel something for her. Smile
