Is Lady Mary Being Disloyal to Matthew’s Memory on Downton Abbey? (PROMO)

The Season 4 premiere of Downton Abbey dropped to blockbuster ratings last week, as fans tuned in to see how Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) was handling the fallout from Matthew's (Dan Stevens) death. Everyone at Downton was worried she was being swallowed up by grief, but by the end of the episode she took the first steps toward moving on.

Based on the preview for Sunday's episode, some seem to think she may be moving on too fast. Watch the promo after the jump!

I just have to say I *adore* Elizabeth McGovern and Michelle Dockery, they fit extremely well as mother and daughter and have a very believable, plausible chemistry. I also love Mary waking up to the realization that she can now, as part owner of Downton, make important decisions and take care of the family even more.

Lady Mary has had an engagement of convenience to that guy who died on the Titanic, she had to wait for Matthew until Levonia died, and she killed her only one night stand (Mr Pamuch). Thus, now that she has her own money it is time to have a little fun.

The show skips ahead a lot, sometimes weeks at a time. Lady Mary may be in a different place at the time the story picks up. However if we are talking continuity, what is with Lady Grantham (Elizabeth McGovern) believing a new maid over about the misdeeds of an established one like Anna, who has shown staunch loyalty since assisting the ladyship in covering up the death of a Turkish diplomat in her daughter’s bed. I didn’t think Lady Grantham would be that dull of a blade when it came to intelligence.
