HomeTVCBS DaytimeB&B and Y&R Boast Largest Weekly Audiences in Years! Jamey Giddens January 11, 2014 CBS Daytime, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and The Restless 17 Comments Here's something positive to talk about in regards to CBS Daytime. Both Tiffany Network daytime sudsers are killing it in the Nielsens! The Bold and the Beautiful was watched by a whopping 4.13 million total viewers the first week of January. This was the soap's largest audience since Feb. 29, 2008. The Young and the Restless was viewed by 5.31 million viewers — it's largest weekly audience since Feb. 4, 2011. Kudos to the casts and crews of both serials! 17 Responses pferrando January 11, 2014 Those are some great numbers! Congrats to the CBS soaps! Log in to Reply logan_echolls January 11, 2014 It’s gonna get higher once Ridge give Katie that jolt of electricity! That arm touch was everything! And Wyatt is not just a roadblock Liam LOL. HOTT!!! Jack and Hilary, more Jack and Hilary taking pictures and Jack joking that any closer he will be wearing her suit!! Log in to Reply hey mon January 11, 2014 …and The Show is boring as hell. If it werent for Billy, Adam, and Kelly, it would be a snooze-fest. Too bad Miller and Muhney are already gone. Y&R is approaching the numbers it once had when The Newman and Abbott Gangs were closing in on Adam for switching Faith’s paternity. Log in to Reply AHeart4Fiction January 11, 2014 B&B & Days are EVERYTHING! Congrats to B&B especially for making KIDGE! Log in to Reply californiaguy888 January 11, 2014 B&B deserves the big ratings! Congrats B&B! ! Also, I see a new couple in the works – RATY (Ridge/Katie). Not sure I’m on board with RATY yet. They both whine and judge too much. Team BROOKE here! Log in to Reply Yoryla January 12, 2014 Good for B&B in the sense of bringing back Ridge and creating RATIE! Also crazy Quinn vs. Donna is gold (but they better do it right and make a real storyline out of it and not just idle scenes). However otherwise that show is still a helpless snoozefest. Not going to comment on Y&R. Log in to Reply LauraWrightCrazy January 12, 2014 Thorsten brought me to B&B & I’m loving it. Log in to Reply stoney07 January 12, 2014 Congrats to both and despite all the press and negativity surrounding ynr, I’m actually really enjoying it now without being so focused on who is writing aand all the behind the scenes shenanigans…makes for a much better viewing experience Log in to Reply NathanHastingsSr. January 12, 2014 Congratulations B&B… no comment on that other show :-/ Log in to Reply stefanstavros January 12, 2014 Great numbers, but I can’t stand TK as Ridge. He is a decent actor, but horribly miscast! Log in to Reply Restless Fan January 12, 2014 Congrats to Y&R. I see improvement happening and as long as they continue in that direction I’m happy. Log in to Reply hey mon January 12, 2014 Boring! Need more drama from Cyndi Watros. What the #ell happened with Jill? Who knocked her out on Monday? Is the fact that Nikki was married to Jill’s half-brother Greg, at the time of Nikki’s conception with Dylan, ever going to be addressed? Now that Ian is going to be on The Show, give him a DNA test, so that we definitely know that Dylan is his son, and not Greg Foster’s. Plus, I think Jill being Dylan’s auntie would be a good way to keep Ms Foster-Fenmore on the canvas a bit more. And what? Now Hillary is completely goody-two shoes? She was actually the only thing saving the entire ‘The Winters Family’ from being utterly boring. Cane and Lily have gone back to being syrupy-sweet. Devon’s big story-line involving Mason was what? Predictable, boring and solvable. For goodness sake, make Mason some kind of serial stalker or something, to liven things up. So Billy Miller and Mike Muhney are leaving a 2 weeks… Weird, they are on every day, and they are the center of The Show right now (sharing it with Dylan). I cannot imagine how the character of Adam is going to gracefully exit at the end of this month. Log in to Reply ANGELWENDY15 January 13, 2014 Sorry, I can’t see WHY Y &R is still the #1 soap. The show has been BORING and all the mess with MM is making it worst. B &B has improved the most. Love Thorsten Kaye as Ridge, the reason I started watching again, and Quinn, those piercing blue eyes, bring on the evil. The show has the best scenery shots to boot! Log in to Reply noway January 13, 2014 Loving B&B right now. Rena Sofer who I never had the pleasure of coming across before is a welcome addition to the cast. Y&R sucks BIG time, and have stopped even reading the updates, and I was looking forward to David Tom’s return but there is nothing there for me anymore. The eppy’s the week of Christmas just sealed the deal for me. The behind the scene antics are just polarizing and disgraceful. He is gone not coming back, people please move on. My biggest problem is like hey mon, Nikki’s reboot story. She was not off canvas long enough to have a kid and was still married to Greg Foster. Don’t even get me started on Agent orange. Log in to Reply pdow January 13, 2014 maybe reason is (if true) because they air them 3x’s a day. I quit Y&R and now don’t even read spoilers…B&B is’t much better but doesn’t matter if I miss it and don’t go to the other channel to watch what I missed. Log in to Reply pferrando January 13, 2014 I agree with Restless. There’s more continuity to YR now, and the shows don’t seem to be scattered and unfocused like they were with the previous HW. I know it’ll most likely never get back to a daily “must watch” status, but at least I’m not banging my head over clearly missed opportunities that plagued Josh.
