Ho hum. The only good episode lately was the January 30th episode that spelled the end of Michael Muhney and Billy Miller's run on the show. Those two acted their hearts out during this week. I doubt that the show will allow Michael to even submit himself for Emmy consideration next year due to what ALLEGEDLY happened behind the scenes, which is too bad.

I hated the idea of IAN WARD comin to GC but I'm intrigue by his interactions with Summer

I love how Ian is kind of getting into Summer's head. Nice play between the different generations of characters, and nice play on history, and it actually makes sense. Kind of makes me feel like the writers didn't just throw that together at random with no actual plan in place.

I don't know...this whole Noah/Courtney thing...I like the two of them together, but I really don't care what her secret is. I'm not engaged with them at all.

I love the first spoiler though...Jill and Billy is a relationship I've been missing a lot. Though there have been a few glimpses of it since Jill's return...but still not a lot.

This writing is the best it has been in a long time. Jill and Colin along with the return of her real son. This is going to be something to watch.

Victor and Nikki back to fighting again having a lovers spat is always for the ages.

Sharon and Chelsea bonding as wives of the devil should be great as well.

Jean and Shelly with their writing teams know what they are doing. The cast always comes through. As much as I hate MM an BM are gone it don't stop no show.

Ian has been a pleasure to watch, just as he was 35 years ago. Not usre how hes getting into the Ranch so easy.

WHY does this writing regime CONTINUE to write Cane and Lily as if they are somehow *movers and shakers* in Genoa City? They are NOBODIES!!!

Can't wait to see Jess/Jill's reunion with Billy/David Tom. And I'm so excited about Colin's return to the show! It's so disheartening, though, that they're having HIM be the one that kidnapped and CHLOROFORMED Jill. She's going to look like a complete lunatic to reunite with him.

Cane and Lily matter to the Ladies, aged 16-25. I know, I live with my daughter, and she is big-time into Lane. Dan Goddard this, and Dan Goddard that.

Well, that is one thing that will come with the return of Dave Tom. Jill will be on much more. They were good and mother and son, and that will be a big plus for The Show.

Jack - He had a rough time being Billy's older brother from 1999 to 2002, as the age difference seemed enormous between them. It will be even worse with the ever youthful Dave Tom.

Vicky and Kelly - Same as above.

Abby - Look for a return to same-aged, same life experiences for these two. Billy Miller seemed older than Mel Ordway, Dave Thom will not.

Id bring back Ashley Bashoun as Mac, as the big thing they had 12 years ago, before Kay Alden ruined it by making Jill and Kay daughter-mother.

Ashley Bashioum is now a doctor/pediatrician. I can't see her returning to Y&R. Sorry, the Billy/Mac days are over. You can't turn back the clock.

i CAN'T WAIT TO SEE Jill and David Tom's interact. Jill was very involved in Billy's life when Tom played him. Where is Brittany right now.

No Jack Hillary spoilers???

Thank goodness no Dylan spoiler

Why is Michael Muhney's picture over this thread? He's no longer on the show? I love you Jillian, but you guys need to quit using him as a pimp for these discussions.

I'm just sayin'.....

Ashley Bashioum is now a pediatrician, Mayam Bialik is a professor -- yet Mayam is on The Big Bang Theory every week. May as well bring back Mac, cause neither Victoria or Kelly is going to mesh with always-young Davey Tom.

Ashley what's her face as Mac was about THE most cardboard actress i'd ever seen for a leading younger lady, despite the gap in the teeth thing...JFP would probably cast one of her own buds in the role instead...

Sorry, but I know for sure Ray Wise did not play this person 35 years ago and are you show whoever portrayed him was ever shown?

I think youre right, I think Ian was shown, but more as a crazed hippy. But I could be wrong, maybe Ian wasnt shown.

I think I am confusing Y&R from the late 70s, with Twin Peaks from the 80s.

Now,I have to backstroke while biting my tongue I swore up and down and around the block I would never ever watch anything Jill Phelps produces but Y/R is rocking right now. The acting is off the chain and I am engaged in nearly all the stories...Ian is very very interesting as this cult sect leader, he infused some life into Dylan' storyline and today' eppy blew me away...

Yep she got me because the last regime when I watched with the last regime; DD was just not in stories/written for the way he is now, yes I know he won an emmy but this one thing pulled me in. She's got him upfront/center in story in a way I can't recall previously.

MM and BM have been acting their asses off...

I have to ask because I missed it but what caused the car crash between Adam and Billy? Did Adam reach for Billy's gun?

I really dont want to see a cult angle. Doesnt really interest me yet but neither will this David Tom/Jill reunion. I mean where the hell has Jill been? Have they even mentioned her?

@RealityCheck Jillian didn't select the picture for this post, I did. I chose it, because the fallout from the character of Adam's endgame will be the big story next week. Should I have chosen Chris Engen's pic instead? If you don't want to read posts with his picture, skip them.

Are you sure about that? Because in 2012, Bashioum's father (who is a cosmetic surgeon) addressed his daughter's career prospects on his blog writing: "My bet is on a business career or a return to acting for the actress who has fond memories of playing the role of Mackenzie on the “Young and the Restless” before pursuing college as a full-time student."

In November of 2013, Ashley married muscian, Trevor Conner, and now goes by "Ashley Conner." She lives in Santa Monica, California just a few miles from the Y&R studio. She also appeared in a short film as recently as 2013, so whether she's given up the acting bug completely seems questionable.

On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ashley.bashioum.1

Nice photos of her wedding. She seems really happy.

Wise actually was on Daytime back in the mid 70's. Love of Life, I think.

The spoiler descriptions don't really give a lot of specifics, but the show has been riding pretty high the past month or so. I hope this momentum continues.

Some things still not working for me...

They gotta solve this Tyler/Abby duo. They do NOT work. I say recast Tyler, or write the character out after this Mariah thing is exposed.

Sharon either needs to come clean OR it needs to be revealed that she did NOT switch the results. I'm still fine with Phyllis off screen for now.

And one thing I'm cautious about...

I love the idea of Colin returning. But they have to be careful that Cane/Lily and especially JILL are featured foremost, otherwise it could turn into SB ver 2.0 for me. I don't want another GH face with a TON of airtime even if he was on the show before.

The show's moving in a very positive direction for me. Is it Jean?

Thanks FoxCrane. I am banking on an Ashley sighting anytime soon.

I think we are going to see Doris soon, having flashbacks about Ian 'taking advantage' of her, as well; and conceiving Sharon.

heymon ... don't you know? Anyone can get onto the Newman Compound at any time any time of the day. It's always been that way and it always will be that way. It's nearly the same with anyone waltzing into any GC luxury condo unit and knocking on or simply walking into the unit without ringing or being announced by the doorman that should obviously be there.

YR this week was good no doubt about it Muhney and Miller did this story justice. I want to know if the ratings for this week were high?

JFP loves explosions, fires and booms! I will say at the end of Friday show she's making sure she places her stamp on YR. I just wonder did JFP have a science experiment kit growing up, because she loves chemicals with these explosions...ijs-

Again, the problem with these two is not RW. It is MO. She has been paired with two hot guys and have failed to generate any heat with either. If they want to recast anyone in the pairing to make it work then let it be her. Tyler was far better received that she was anyway...but Abby has managed to suck the life right out of him. She's not likable. And she makes him unlikable as well.

No, the character of Ian Ward was never shown in 1980 when the original cult story was played. Ian is totally made-up.

The only leader of the cult whom we actually saw was this Asian woman named "Sumiko," played by actress Helen Funai. There was, however, a sexual element to the cult. It was implied that the young men in the cult were Sumiko's, and she actually did have sex with Paul. It was like an initiation ritual, "making him one with her." Paul also became interested in a cult member named "Rebecca" (actress Cindy Fisher, who later became Mrs. Doug Davidson in real life). Rebecca was attracted to Paul as well, but she turned him down saying Sumiko forbade members from having sex with one another.

The whole cult story only lasted about 12 weeks; it was one of those summertime stories, so there was absolutely no way Nikki was ready to deliver a baby when it was over, even if it was premature. And Nikki wasn't some naive, inexperienced teen as they're trying to make her out to be. She was at least 20 and still married to Greg Foster when she was in the cult. She tried to get back together with Greg when the cult folded, but by that time, he'd had it with her lies and filed for divorce. She soon met Cash and was stripping at The Bayou, then began a brief affair with Andy Richards who was The Bayou's bartender, leading into the "Edward the Stalker" story where her neighbor became obsessed with her.

Thanks FoxCrane for the rundown on the cult story and aftermath. Because it is a total bs rewrite as to what I remembered. Suddenly Nikki has a kid and there was never time for her to be offscreen. I hate it when they aren't true to the history and assume the viewer either forgets or will just buy the tripe they are trying to sell. Which also leads me into why I despise the woman running the show after she made the comment in the spring that the viewers don't know what they like and I will do what I want or something to that effect. Ok so is that how she thinks so I guess that's the attitude one must have to run how many soaps into their graves? Bitch please....

I don't understand when people say the writing has improved? What are the proof?

The stories we are watcjhing are still the one from the old regime. There is a lot of inconstancies in the writing. Kevin has a rap sheet a mile long and works at the PCPD? Chloe disapears on him and he is not worry and stay put?

Chloe travels from one point to the other on warp speed, sharing her stony face and lack of emotions. I can go on and on.

Nothing has improved.

I HAVE A THEORY ON HOW ADAM SURVIVES!
that creepy guy that found the car killed a friend of his..he saw the perfect opportunity to switch bodies and clothing, etc. right after billy got out. the body is burned beyond recognition..no one would question its identity..a few months later, NuAdam surfaces.

Love you to Jamey, but why not use David Tom, isn't he's the focus of the future? He's the new Billy that will drive the story forward. Muhney's character is toast, literally. Adam is now in the rear view mirror in the same river with Dru.
