Today on The Young and the Restless, Jack (Peter Bergman) confronts Victor (Eric Braeden) about keeping Adam's (Michael Muhney) crime a secret. How will a cornered Black Knight respond? Elsewhere in Genoa City, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) try to help a distraught Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Watch a sneak peek of Friday's Y&R after the jump! 50 Responses SZima January 31, 2014 “How will a cornered Black Knight respond?” The way he always does…he never, NEVER takes responsibility for the chaos he he causes. Always blames it on someone else. Mainly anyone with the name Abbott. Log in to Reply Patchworks January 31, 2014 Exactly, @SZima. Victor will blame it on Billy or Jack or even John or Traci. He always has a good reason, dammit. RME Log in to Reply thecourt99 January 31, 2014 Why is everything Victor’s fault? Yes, he kept it a secret. but Adam is the one that covered his crime and communicated with Billy online and let things linger. Whatever happens is not on Victors head. jack needs to take that mess to his new BFF Log in to Reply bobbyew January 31, 2014 Friday will go out with a bang. I can’t wait for Jack to let Victor have it. These two along with the rest of the cast have been amazing. The first 30min was so good. The words written have been delivered so well. It is back at the top of its game. The production, writing, wardrobe and acting is superb on all levels. JFP and Crew brought it with the last 30min!!! Log in to Reply stoney07 January 31, 2014 I don’t buy for a minute that Adam is dead. But geez, it just felt good to have a little action or something on Y&R again. A little suspense… I freakin loved this episode. Best episode of the year so far for me…(and without BM and MM…but undoubtedly BECAUSE of them) Love them both as actors and characters…but with good writing, Y&R won’t hurt at all. They just have to capitalize on all this momentum. Log in to Reply RealityCheck 33 January 31, 2014 Apparently, Jerry Douglas is not returning as Ghost John. He tweeted late Thursday that the new writers no longer want to write his character and is asking fans to contact JFP to plead his case to keep him on the show. I don’t see a Ghost Adam showing up at Abbott Manor anytime soon either. Log in to Reply thecourt99 January 31, 2014 So Victor gets the blame by attrition Log in to Reply Mets82 January 31, 2014 Good!! Ghost John bothered me. Always with his goody-goody attitude. I dont think Victor will pay for his crime but what about Jack being Connor’s guardian and his friendship with Adam and Adam was behind the hit and run? I wonder if they’ll tease him going back on pills because of this. Log in to Reply Divatude58 January 31, 2014 Jack just pushing his guilt for befriending and helping Ashley’s baby killer who also turned into Billy’s baby killer. He never takes responsibility for anything. I hope that whatever happens with Newman Chancellor that he ends up on the outside. Log in to Reply MotownKate4Soaps January 31, 2014 If Victor can come from the dead, so can Adam. And apparently Carmine, whose moment with Michael was more riveting than the others on Friday. I’d rather have ghost John than ghost Cassie. Come on, Sharon, tell the truth before Summer succombs to Ian’s web of deception! Log in to Reply pjc722 February 1, 2014 I have yet to see the episode but from the comments and the GOOD REASON TO RENEW THE FEUD between mumbles and smiling jack, I’m stoked!!! I do wish Jill was part of the final episodes for billy miller only because the character of billy under BM had so little relationship with Jill that it would lend itself to the return of tom as billy. Can’t wait to see how it all goes down! Sorry, I’m in the minority but billy has to be held responsible for Adams presumed deAth. I know i know Adam susposedly killed Delia but it would lead to better story if now billy had to pay and if secrets came out of Billy’s dalliances with the charity chick and other things that just when billy is about to be found guilty NU Adam shows up and billy is acquitted as is nuBilly when he proves someone else did the deed in killing Delia. As for CARMINE… Seriously?!!! Is he alive? The character was good when it was an affair but as a pyscho it’s not there like Sheila or past crazies on the show. Just end the story, make michael and Lauren happy and let’s see fen and summer date. It’s with these 4 characters that the show can balance the hi melodrama with some sweetness and fun. DIE CARMINE DIE! Log in to Reply yojoromo4469 February 1, 2014 [quote=stoney07]I don’t buy for a minute that Adam is dead. I don’t understand dragging in these dull ass characters except for filler and a waste of time. Good show otherwise. Must have been Billy that walked away, because for sure in real life, no one would have survived that explosion. Log in to Reply tedew February 1, 2014 It does not make sense to dispense of such a integral character in such a manner after so long and so much. Michael Muhney replaced Chris Engen and so he can also be replaced. Sure it looks like Adam blew up real good but this IS the Y&R universe and all things are possible. The points that Billy is also guilty as is Jack in a way are good points for sure. However Victor DID keep it a secret for his own agenda; which was to purloin Connor from his parents. Victor is obsessed with grandchildren for some reason and why does he claim such love toward Delia … the daughter of a man he despises and a woman he’d rather just wipe his dirty feet on? And come on Mr. Braeden … you are no Sydney Greenstreet and so your use of BILLY BOY at each utterance has gotten extremely tedious and annoying!!! Log in to Reply Dyllan February 1, 2014 I liked Carmine. However, keep his ass away from Lauren. That was the DUMBEST plot ever. I don’t buy for a second he would go cray cray over Lauren’s 50 year old goodies. Plus, I’m tired of Lauren’s ground hog day’s-let’s get stalked stories. Log in to Reply Cuppa_Coffee February 1, 2014 Why should Billy catch hell for what happened to Adam? He had it coming. Adam was arrogant the whole time he was under the gun. Mouthy for a man with a pistol in his ear. Not going to miss Adam at all. Sharon will come to Adam’s rescue again. He will call her and she will run to him, hide him. Log in to Reply tedew February 1, 2014 Dyllan … Of course the fact remains that Fen DID attempt to murder Carmine. Cuppa_Coffee … I don’t think Adam was arrogant at all but was consumed with guilt the whole time. Log in to Reply AlbertoTulsa71 February 1, 2014 IMO, Y&R has been VERY good the last couple of weeks. The acting alone makes it worth watching. The new writers are doing a great job. I know I’m in the minority but I will NOT miss Billy Miller. He’s been phoning his acting from home for at least a year. He acts as if he’s too good for daytime. I’m betting David Tom will breathe new life into Billy. That said, VERY sorry to see Michael Muhney leave. If they replace him, I hope they can bring Chris Engen back. Log in to Reply AlbertoTulsa71 February 1, 2014 In regard to your comment about an Adam Newman recast, I hope they bring back Chris Engen. Would LOVE that. Log in to Reply 1titanman February 1, 2014 1.)First of all this is a soap and people always come back from the dead and Adam is not dead. JFP is twirling her stache in her Rolodex to see who going to play Adam Wilson Newman in 6 months. You know it going to be somebody from a defunct ABC soap. 2.) Thurs & Fri shows were so good and JFP place her stamp on this show, and of course it wouldn’t be a JFP production without some fire, explosions and big boom! When I saw that I said JFP showing out, but I will say YR was on fire this week…Can’t wait to hear DC podcast next week. 3.) All the players were on fire; Eric, Melody, Peter, Joshua, Lizzie, Missy Claire, Muhney & Miller they were gold! And I will give her credit, as much as I can’t stand her acting; but Amelia Heinle did a great acting job on Thurs show and she did Victoria justice. Now when she was having scene with Stitch talking about she will making something to eat. I said Heather Tom’s Victoria couldn’t cook. Long old time YR watchers remember when Victoria was living in the tack room with Cole and she couldn’t cook. When did Vicki learn how to cook? I need the writers to stay true to form. Log in to Reply pjc722 February 1, 2014 And I forgot what this means for Chloe. I think that Hendrickson is AMAZING! She has delivered more than any other actor on this show during this storyline. I would love to see her spiral further away from sanity to the point where she needs saving. (Whatever that may be) It would be great to see a true love triangle begin or a new love from this story be started for Chloe from this one particular story. Either a new man enters GC or Stitch or Chavez come to her rescue. Sorry, with Kevin I just can’t get on board and this one event should be enough to end their relationship and keep story going. I don’t want her with nuBilly because we’ve been down that road and would like to think that Chloe wouldn’t steal Victoria’s man. I would love a new person added to the canvas more than anything just to give a little more fresh blood to the show. (Only mentioned Chavez because he is part of the show and not used… but I don’t like the character’s arrogance. Stitch will hit up Victoria but his marriage needs to be dealt with first before he can be a leading man. Right now, he’s a dog with a bone trying to bury it everywhere but his OWN yard!) Log in to Reply pjc722 February 1, 2014 In Genoa City it surely goes from NIGHT TO DAY TO NIGHT awfully quick! Nick arrives at the car to see someone in there in the board daylight but in the next scene the sun is down and it’s awfully dark! Personally I loved the episode and conclusion of the ADAM KILLED A BABY story. Having the scenes play out over 5 days where Billy kept asking for the story over and over again was tedious at best but both MM and BM delivered! The conclusion for me would have been nicer if as the mystery person got out, got up onto the road, the vehicle exploded and camera turned back to the road and it was NUBilly standing there and then he just walked away. Carmine being alive needs more context to it. We need to know how a bartender was able to fake his death and all that. I believe his body was lying there while both Michael and Lauren argued over who did it and where the other was to go. Michael was able to cover up his tracks to make it look like he did it and not only did Michael feel for a pulse so would the cops. Carmine would have had to had lied there for a good bit of time… LIKE MOST CORPSES presumed dead… while the cops surveyed the crime scene. Even more, others would have felt his pulse. As much as I am also happy that Fen didn’t KILL someone and he is freed WHY on earth would Michael go to see if his hunch is correct ALONE?! Carmine is YOUNGER… BUILT… and so far has been able to allude all police so wouldn’t it have been better to have seen a scene where Michael spoke with Victor’s PI and asked for some muscle? Little things and STILL NOT sure it was the right mix with one character supposedly perishing in a car crash and another character comes back to life BOTH being in the cliffhanger ending. BUT before some people coming down on being negative… SADLY, JFP has delivered with this episode and if she and the writers play their cards right could deliver even more. The feud between Jack and Victor has new spark, as well, as a renewed emphasis for Jill to take down Victor for thinking he can conceal her granddaughter’s killer’s identity for his own good. Nikki commenting the way she did about allowing his murdering son to run free while Billy’s daughter dies was a priceless moment. I hope that is mined, too. Victoria and Nick should be furious at Victor for his deed. Victoria because she lost a child and her father used that knowledge for his own good. Nick because of his loyalty to his sister and his own personal loss. It would be great if this is the one time that Victor finds himself alone as those he promotes to love start walking away from him. To see the younger Newman’s give up on him would be amazing. Abby turning on him because it Victor chose to protect Adam after all Adam did to her mother and now to Billy and Victoria. Noah, because Victor constantly maligns his mother only to do worse to his own family. And then Summer, because Delia was more her “family” than anything. It’s time to see Victor losing in a way that makes him more human. To see Jack n Jill chip away at Newman/Chancellor because of Victor’s blindsided by family would be a good turning point in all his stories. Its time to see the mighty fall. Remember, all big time villians on soaps fall to the ground. JR has fallen more times than can be remembered on DALLAS yet still has gotten up. BUT if Victor keeps going around blindly thinking there is no repercussions for his actions (or Billy) than the show is not only doing an injustice to the fans but also to the WELL OF STORIES that can be mined from one senseless killing of a character… delia. Sillytee, I think you might have something about Adam replacing a body and if or when Adam returns back in GC, I feel he’ll have plastic surgery and nobody will know him…trying to get close to Connor….hmmmm Log in to Reply ChrisGa February 1, 2014 Another great ep for JFP and her team. Could’ve live without another pointless convo between Abby and Tyler; I don’t know why the writers keep trying to make this character happen. They need to take a page from Mean Girls–much like “fetch”, they need to stop trying to make Tyler happen. He’s NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Did like the interaction between Abby and Traci though. I still think Melissa’s a good actress but someone, somewhere has got to start writing for that character otherwise she’s gonna continue to be just another vapid, blonde cipher. As much as I’m going to hate the Baldwins being relegated back to talk-to’s, I’m ready for this story to be wrapped up. Carmine’s alive, yay. He had his charms when he was paired with Marcy Rylan and was a fairly viable obstacle for the Baldwin marriage. But the character–and actor–is far too lightweight to be considered as any kind of compelling psycho stalker(and more than just about any other actor on any other soap, it confounds me how so many overlook his minimal acting skills just because he’s hot). Haven’t bought that aspect of the story for one solitary second and yesterday’s ep didn’t change that, despite the tense encounter with Michael(although you do know that Christian LeBlanc is about to BRING IT, don’t you?). Everyone involved in the Delia story were typically stellar, even “You bet!”/”You got that!”/”You have a nice day” Eric Braeden. Glad to see Nikki light into him because it reminds me that MTS is a great actress when she isn’t breathily cooing or crying over Dylan. Although, when Paul yelled to Nick (paraphrasing)”Get outta the way!” when the car was about to explode it brought to mind a certain Roman Brady on a certain other Sony soap when he yelled those famous words “Get down! Everybody get down!”(C’mon Doug, dial it down a notch, you’ve been extra hammy this week and you didn’t even have to bawl your eyes out to get there). Log in to Reply stefanstavros February 1, 2014 Another theory: There was a third person in the car who had snuck in the back seat to get the scoop (maybe a cop) and subsequently apprehend the perp…Then the person with the twitching hand who blows up with the car would be explained…. Log in to Reply Blue Skies and Palomino Ponies February 1, 2014 Brilliant! Love the body switchin’ theory. That guy WAS creepy. To be honest, I actually did a double take, thinking he was Muhney in disguise for a second, then quickly got a grip on myself. I have to say, though, I was thinking it was Adam who walked up until Monday’s teaser…I figured it was Billy inside and that the explosion would be used to explain why he looked different, and yet more as he did in his youth… I will continue to hold out hope that we learn that Adam was NOT the driver who killed Delia. Agree that the Abby/Tyler fight & make up scenes were timewasters on a powerful show. His compelling eloquence during his “five minutes” was as unbelieveable as that apartment set into which Abby found herself locked… Log in to Reply Pure_Diva February 1, 2014 Jack needs to have several seats. Victor kept Adam’s secret and then used it for leverage to get close to his grandson. As far as Victor’s antics go, Big Deal. Jack, on the other hand, has turned into Genoa City’s Dennis Rodman – just looking for a ‘friend’ – even if it is Kim Jung Un… er… I mean, Adam. All he needs to do now is sing a breathy version of Happy Birthday minus the blond wig and tight dress. Log in to Reply tedew February 2, 2014 Pure_Diva … Your critique of Jack seems rather excessive. He had no reason at all to suspect the man he thought had changed. He was completely in the dark. Victor on the other hand remains as despicable as ever and still will not have to answer for his deeds. I doubt Adam is a goner and some of the above scenarios are quite interesting possibilities. Also, I too was wondering about the night and day and timing inconsistencies at the accident scene. Log in to Reply logan_echolls February 2, 2014 The best part of the episode was Nikki and Victor. Log in to Reply pjc722 February 2, 2014 I think that Adam will be presumed dead and we will see a story of Chelsea inheriting all his money and a custody battle between her and Jack against Victor. Whether Anita or Jeffrey will jump into the fray for a little extra change from Chelsea is beyond my thinking and even JFP’s desires. I do think Adam will return because otherwise Victor will have only one protagonist to go up against even though he hates Dylan. Dylan is no match for Victor and I hope the story isn’t written that way. It will be interesting to see if Dylan warms up to Chelsea during her mourning period. Even though the DUMBASS basically bought Ian a bus ticket back to Genoa City because he wanted to be sure his family medical history didn’t have an ABUNDANCE OF COLDS or a lack of emotion. I like Avery and I do like Chelsea and think a sweet and NOT catty love triangle would be nice. (Again, just wish it was with a better man) As for the time continuity on the show, I have been noticing it since the JFP beginning. The worst was at Christmas where the Chancellors sat down to Chinese food at what appeared to be late afternoon and finish the meal before the Abbotts woke up (since they showed at the exact same time as the Chancellor take out meal the traditional Abbott holiday BREAKFAST) and the Winters arrived at the GCAC. In this case, for the Adam/Billy story. It was dark when they wrecked & crashed. By the time they were found it was daylight. ENOUGH time for Adam to put a simple disguise on. Michael Muhney himself said that they would be bringing Adam back in 3-6 months. Clearly Adam is NOT dead. Watch for Adam to be back WAY before 3-6 months. Or even some silly scenario that they picked up a hitch hiker or something and that he’s in there. Although I was dumbfounded to see carmine alive I could gravitate towards the explanation solely becuase it seemed somewhat logical. FARCIAL but logical. So writers start now thinking of how Adam survived that doesn’t include a dumb scenario JUST FOR THE SACK of a dumb scenario. The explanation has to be believable. Log in to Reply tedew February 5, 2014 Pjc722 … I don’t think that Paul and Nick could actually identify who was trapped in the SVU. That being noted, I also doubt that a homeless man crawling into an already crashed vehicle could manage to get himself trapped unless it turned over again. I also highly doubt that someone was already hiding inside nor would the bickering duo have picked someone up; those are not plausible possibilities. It of course it is possible that Adam truly has gone to heaven (heaven being any plain where Victor doesn’t exist), but you are right on target by saying that if he lives the explanation has to be believable and simple even. Log in to Reply kgdallas February 7, 2014 I agree with RebeccaJ…. these Nikki/Victor confrontations when another one of Victor’s “deeds” comes out is getting so old because she’ll huff and puff and in the next breath she’ll be defending him to somebody.
