Judith Light Books ABC Comedy Pilot Based on Henry Winkler’s Life

She was the "boss" on a hit ABC laffer three decades ago. Now Judith Light is returning to the world of situation comedies.

The One Life to Live and Who's The Boss? alum—currently enjoying a second season playing a coke-snorting, brothel-running, shipping tycoon on TNT's Dallas— has been cast in ABC's comedy pilot The Winklers. Based on the real-life of Happy Days legend Henry Winkler, The Winklers is a father-in-law/son-in-law buddy comedy. Light is set to play Winkler's wife. Deadline broke the casting news.

Here’s something that all Judith Light fans will want to see. It reminds me of Joan Lunden, whom I met when she and Charles Gibson brought Good Morning America to Canada for a week back in the ’90s. Like Radnor with Light, I was struck by how interested Lunden was in my life and career and really listened to me. That conversation left an impression on me that made me redefine what I considered to be a success in life. It’s nice not only to see that this type of person exists in what is known to be a cut-throat world, but that she is noticed for it.
