From the DISASTROUS red carpet hosts who joked about rape, black people and didn’t know who any of the stars were, to the night’s biggest winners, the DC gang covers it all. Sara Bibel spills red carpet and press room scoop. She also provides dirt about her time writing on The Young and the Restless under Lynn Marie Latham! The DC gang weighs in on quite possibly the best moment in Daytime Emmy history — Kathy Griffin cutting off Jill Farren Phelps’ acceptance speech. They had nothing to say. Couldn’t dust off their flawed “patriarchy theory” to save the woman from herself. Now the next time a male makes a “rape joke” they will be all over it like white on rice. And that just proves the point about modern feminism being a joke and wanted to re-imagine history for its own benefits. Thanks though for much of the media for coming out and demanding that there be an apology. That is far cry from people joking about a woman beating on man a month ago. Because if Jay-Z had hit Solanage, it would be no laughing matter. And shows just how normalized misandry is in this country. Kudos to the DC crew for also calling out the problem with the “rape joke”. Amen! As for the winners…. I’m happy for Elieen Davidson, Billy Miller and Jill Farren Phelps. She has this to say to her detractors. JFP: It’s too late. You can’t help me. No one can help me. Because I’ve changed. And I fear the change is irreversible. I’m become your worst nightmare Y&R fans. You want crazy?! You got it. Oh, no no I am not who I was. I have risen, from the ashes. Sound Familiar? I’m not fighting it. I’m not fighting my soap history. Never again. I am the infamous Executive Producer through and through. That’s what you think isn’t it soap fans? Why you decided I should be fired? I am the multiple Emmy Winning executive producer and I will survive this. And I will survive this and come back to control your soap. Every soap fan out there. You’ll all regret the day they turned on me. Tried to BREAK ME. And you will pay for it. All of you will pay. (LONG TIME DAYS FAN) Log in to Reply GHfan1122 June 24, 2014 I agree that the red carpet was a F- and I blame everyone that was involved for that disaster!!! The ceremonies itself wasnt bad and I would love if Kathy Griffin would host again!!! There does need to be music to make sure speeches dont go on forever!!! I also agree that ABC needs to step it up in promoting GH. I even watched The View fri morning to see if they would talk about the Daytime Emmys n I hear them promoting that new rising star show. Its not hard to say watch the Daytime Emmys to see 8 GH nominees try to win an Emmy. Log in to Reply tylerbo20 June 25, 2014 also would have liked to see a montage of people we have lost over the year…also the lifetime acheivment award..unless that went out when i wasnt watching Log in to Reply gato1 June 25, 2014 Tyler u MUST listen to the podcast they are always good, I just wish there were more of them!
