The Dr. Oz Show Wins For Outstanding Talk Show/Informative!

Dr. Oz once again trumped his competition by winning for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative at the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The show has nabbed three back-to-back wins in this category. The Mighty O must be proud her tutelage has paid off.

Cash Cab's Ben Bailey Wins Outstanding Game Show Host!

A bittersweet victory for Cash Cab's Ben Bailey, as he nabs his third win at the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards for Oustanding Game Show Host. Cash Cab was cancelled on April 18 last year.

The Price Is Right Wins For Outstanding Game Show!

CBS staple The Price Is Right took home the top prize, by winning for Oustanding Game Show at the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. This marks The Price Is Right's 31st nomination and 6th win.

The Young and the Restless' Doug Davidson Wins Daytime Emmy For Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series!

The Young and the RestlessDoug Davidson took home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on June 16. It was his first win. Congratulations to Davidson!

LIVE BLOG: 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards


Hello Everyone! Welcome to Daytime Confidential's Official Live Blog for The 40th Annual Daytime Emmys! We'll get started in a bit, but drop me a line in the comments on what you expect for the evening!

The show is officially underway y'all! I caught some of the red carpet show, but I didn't see many soap stars. I don't know what that's about, but I digress.

We open with hosts Robin Meade, Sam Champion and AJ Hammer. I like Robin's dress. They're rambling about the Daytime Emmys turning 40 this year. Oh great, they're going to sing. Now, Robin is singing. I don't understand what's happening here.

Okay. Sam is doing a Daytme Emmy Doppler radar. I still have yet to see something that features a soap star. They just showed George Lucas who looks like he'd rather have a V8 than be in the audience. I'm kind of feeling your pain George.

So Sheryl Underwood is going to interview all the stars as they win their awards on stage. She's going to fan girl ALL OVER the place, as she's a long time soap fan.

Soap Stars Scoop Up Swag at Daytime Emmy Gifting Suite (PHOTOS)

There was a General Hospital father and daughter reunion at the Daytime Emmy Gifting Suite.  Rick Hearst and Haley Pullos–who portray father and daughter Ric Lansing and Molly Lansing–posed for photos in the gifting suite where soap stars snagged swag on June 15.  Hearst last appeared on General Hospital in 2009, the same year Pullos took over the role of a SORASED Molly.
