Sarah Brown on Beacon Hill: “Sort of Like Going Back to College When I Studied Political Science”

Before taking part in General Hospital's recent "Carlypalooza", soap mega star Sarah Brown signed on for quite the political party, by accepting a starring role in Crystal Chappell's Beacon Hill.  In the ambitious online serial, Brown plays hot shot State Representative Katherine Wesley, who shares a steamy past with reporter Sara Preston (All My Children's Alicia Minshew).

Does Brown notice any difference in acting on a web soap, as opposed to a daytime sudser? "No, I wouldn't say there are any differences. The acting process is not different for a web series."

Brown admits there was quite the learning curve involved with becoming versed in Beacon Hill's world of political intrigue.

INTERVIEW: Ron Raines Dishes Beacon Hill, Guiding Light, OLTL and Broadway

Guiding Light and One Life to Live veteran Ron Raines is once again bursting soap bubbles, this time on Crystal Chappell's political soap Beacon Hill. I caught up with Raines to find out about his new gig as sinister Senator William Preston. Is his new character even more ruthless than GL's Alan Spaulding?

Raines also shared his thoughts on the end of Prospect Park's version of OLTL , his work on Broadway and what it would take to get him on one of the four remaining daytime sudsers.

Daytime Confidential: What's it like working with your former Guiding Light castmates, Crystal Chappell, Ricky Paull Goldin, and Tina Sloan, again?

Ron Raines: Great.  First of all, they are all colleagues of mine from Guiding Light that I truly adore and have worked with all of them. I have had heavy storylines with each of them. Beacon Hill is just starting now, and I am hoping to repeat some of the chemistry that we had on Guiding Light.

INTERVIEW: John-Paul Lavoisier on Beacon Hill, Spending Time With Tuc Watkins’ Twins and Missing OLTL

One Life to Live's resident bad boy is back! John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex Balsom) is making a return to soapdom in the highly-anticipated web sudser Beacon Hill. I caught up with the sexy actor, who revealed what he's been up to since saying goodbye to Llanview. He also provided insight into his new character, political heir Eric Preston.

Daytime Confidential: We haven’t seen you around in a while. What have you been up to since One Life to Live ended it’s run on ABC?

John-Paul Lavoisier: Since OLTL, I've been busy with babies! Really. My friend Tuc [Watkins] had twins last year, a boy and a girl, and I spend almost everyday with them. They're great. Tuc and I also do a really great 100 minute workout at Runyon Canyon called "The Full Dolores" three times a week. We have T-shirts. You get one once you complete "her."

INTERVIEW: Crystal Chappell Dishes Beacon Hill, The Bold and The Beautiful and More!

The hardest-working soap star on the web is at it again! In a partnership with lesbian-themed book publisher, Bella Books, Crystal Chappell is set to debut her latest web soap, Beacon Hill.

We caught up with Chappell to get all the dish on her latest venture. She also reveals which of her many daytime soap screen partners she misses smooching...

Daytime Confidential: Where did the idea for Beacon Hill come from?

Crystal Chappell: The idea for Beacon Hill came from the ladies at Bella Books. After years in the book distribution business, they decided to break into web series. They contacted Open Book in January of 2013.  We loved the script!  Formed a partnership and now here we are.

DC: What can you tell us about Claire Preston? What drives her?

CC: Claire is the daughter of a powerful Senator played by Ron Raines. She's lived her life in the public eye, and, of course, her father has very suffocating expectations of her. She lives in her own world drowning her pain in booze, but she also has a secret....a secret that if any one knew, would blow up the political world in Beacon Hill.
