ABC Renews Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, OUAT and More; Orders Nine Series



Expect most of your ABC primetime favorites to return next season. The network renewed its soaps Revenge, Grey's Anatomy and Scandal. It also awarded Once Upon a Time and Castle each an additional season.

The alphabet network delivered second seasons to freshman dramas Resurrection and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. It also announced Marvel's Agent Carter, which is set in Captain America's 1946 mythology.

On the comedy side of things, ABC renewed Modern Family, The Middle and freshman laugher The Goldbergs.

The Young and the Restless’ Sean Carrigan Books Modern Family


The Young and the Restless newbie Sean Carrigan (Stitch) is venturing into primetime. Carrigan has snared a guest spot on Modern Family. The actor will play John, who mixes things up with Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). Carrigan made the announcement on Twitter last week, posting the above picture with Ferguson, and stated:

General Hospital star and True Blood alum Carolyn Hennesy was among the celebrities who walked the red carpet at the premiere of Struck by Lightning at Mann Chinese 6 in Los Angeles on January 6. The film stars Glee’s Chris Colfer, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney, Allison Janney and Rebel Wilson.
