General Hospital’s Carolyn Hennesy to Host Indie Series Awards in Los Angeles


Add awards show host to Carolyn Hennesy’s growing resume. In addition to starring on General Hospital, doing stints on True Blood and Cougar Town, and being a published author, Hennesy will soon be an emcee. 

We Love Soaps announced Hennesy will host the 5th Annual Indie Series Awards in April 2014. According to the site, the ISAs will take place in Los Angeles, where the ceremony “celebrates the best in independently produced, scripted entertainment created for the Web. "

Blake Hood OUT; Hartley Sawyer IN as Kyle Abbott on The Young and The Restless!


 
Now, what in the name of William J. Bell, Sr. are they doing over at The Young and the Restless? Soap Opera Digest is reporting Y&R has given Blake Hood the boot as Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) youngest son Kyle (We still remember Keemo!).  

According to the magazine’s site, Hartley Sawyer will take over the role starting March 18. Sawyer’s acting credits include, Jane By Design, Glory Daze, GCB and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23.

Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse Jumps From TBS to OWN


Looks like the bond between Tyler Perry's production company and Oprah’s cable network OWN is getting stronger. According to The Huffington Post, Perry’s For Better or Worse is leaving TBS for a new home on OWN. 

"For Better or Worse" is about three couples dealing with the challenges of dating and married life. OWN says the original cast, including Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White, will remain with the show.


NBC Apologizes to Affiliates For Today’s 9/11 Moment of Silence Pre-emption Controversy


NBC may not be apologizing to viewers for pre-empting the moment of silence honoring September 11 World Trade Center victims—choosing instead to air an interview with Kris Jenner about her breast implants—but the broadcast network has apologized to affiliates for the storm of criticism it created at a local level. From The New York Times:
“Yesterday, we made an editorial call resulting in the Sept, 11 moment of silence not being seen. While we dedicated a substantial amount of airtime to anniversary events, we still touched a nerve with many of your viewers … and for that we apologize.”
