NAACP Image Awards Cut Daytime Drama Categories

The NAACP Image Awards came out today and many in the industry are buzzing about the absence of any categories related to daytime dramas. I called the NAACP Hollywood bureau, and a rep confirmed the daytime drama categories were out this year.

Susan Lucci Joins Steve Harvey to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Legendary soap star Susan Lucci swings by The Steve Harvey Show on May 5 to help the multi-hyphenated host kick off a week-long Mothers Day celebration. La Lucci kicks off the week with Harvey, by discussing what motherhood was like for her, coming home from the Daytime Emmys empty handed for 18 years, being a grandmother of four and working on Devious Maids.

Harvey also reveals how big a fan he is of Lucci, and what she meant to his late mother. Watch Harvey fill Lucci in below!


Steve Harvey Lands President Obama Interview

President Barack Obama is returning to daytime! Sophomore talk show host Steve Harvey is set to have a one-on-one with the leader of the free world at The White House. The multi-hyphenated phenom will speak with Obama on fatherhood, family and holiday plans. In a released statement, Harvey said,

Sitting down with the President is something I’ve always dreamt of doing, and I am honored to have the opportunity. I’m grateful to President Obama for welcoming me and I’m thrilled to share this experience with all my viewers.

Harvey's interview with Obama is slated to air Dec. 20.

Days of Our Lives hunks Eric Martsolf and Shawn Christian stop by The Steve Harvey Show on Wednesday and things get a little romantic! It seems Martsolf is trying to help his pal Christian find his soul mate and is using Harvey’s show to do so.

During the show, two DAYS fans will participate in a segment they assume is a regular dating game. One lucky lady, however, will be asked out by none other than Christian. NBCUniversal Renews ‘Steve Harvey’ Through 2016

Steve Harvey has made NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution a happy group. The comedian's self-titled talk show has been renewed through 2016.

The breakout chatfest has been picked up in over 65 percent of the country. The Steve Harvey Show, which is produced by Endemol, is one of the few freshman talk shows to prove a solid hit.

In a released statement, NBC Broadcasting Chairman Ted Harbert said:

Steve is one of the best entertainers in the country and his first season has been a tremendous success because of the personal connection he makes with the daytime audience. It's so great to see Steve’s very funny and substantive show being rewarded with long-term commitments from our station partners.
