Thanks for your answer

Thanks for your answer Bookerman, I feel we are starting to understand each other ( s ) Smile

Darqueman, having had the chance to attend one Port Chuck concert recently and having had the opportunity to discuss with Brandon Anderson and his wife as well as Brandon and Natalie Hall, there is one thing I am sure of, it is that if BB or BA are leaving anytime soon, it won't be because they chose it. They both clearly think that GH is threatened but they want to have the opportunity to live it fully until the end and keep the Port Chuck band intact on the show.

And by the way, I am not on Facebook and a lot of us here are not either. Also not on Twitter. I care too much about my privacy Wink Luckily there is still other way to communicate with your friends and family than doing it in such a public way! I love DC because there is a great number of very interesting and diverse persons posting in an adult way. Which is pretty enjoyable even if we often disagree!

Aramis, what a delightful surprise to see you back darling! Nick is right, WE MISS YOU Smile

Let me say again, I have no

Let me say again, I have no issue with olivia or llc. I just recognize that in the modern soap world, there is a limit on the number of actors you can maintain financially on one cast. some have posited that johnny is being written this way to facilitate todd/carly and that johnny is being eliminated FOR THE BENEFIT of bringing on roger H. I dont see that but who knows - that may have to do with salaries or bargaining or whatever. FOR ME, I want whatever cast most facilitates the continuation of the show - thus even though I LOATHE the character of liz, i would never want the character written out because whether or not I like her I recognize that she has a considerable fan base, even if Im not amongst them. And while I prefer johnny and todd to olivia, the reality is I would gladly sacrifice one of them to keep olivia IF i thought that was the version of the cast that I thought would keep the show on the air the longest. fortunately or unfortunately I dont think thats the case, based on just the passion and the numbers i see on boards. COuld that be wrong - sure - but my sense is its not. in a dream world, they could tell a multi hour show, bring back every fave, keep every current cast member, bring over all the oltl peeps, bring over all the amc peeps etc. etc. but thats not reality. thats all i was saying.

I must say, I was completely

I must say, I was completely unaware how many people are truly disappointed with the OLTL cast additions. I, for one, being a fan of both shows, was more than thrilled at the prospect of Mcbain and the Mannings joining GH. They were some of my favorite characters and actors from OLTL. I did not realize how many people dislike Todd. I LOVE Todd & Mcbain! They are two of the funniest serious guys I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. I also love the rejoining(kind of) of Kelly Monaco & Michael Easton. I loved them on "Port Charles" and was upset when it was cancelled. I love Steve Burton, but they have made the character of Jason sooo unlikable. I hope Natalie from OLTL's ex Jared comes back from the dead and she chooses him over John(off camera of course), so John can be with Sam.

I agree that Johnny WAS a great character and Brandon Barash has so much talent. The writers have made the character almost irredeemable at this point though. The old Johnny, no matter how angry he was, would never have killed the man he thought was his father his whole life. He would have had someone make him disappear, or let Sonny get rid of him. He also would not have taken advantage of a mentally ill woman, and then let her take the blame (legally and emotionally) of killing a child.

On another note: there are a few characters I could stand to lose instead of Johnny...how about Elizabeth?...or Spinelli?...some days even Lulu?

Did anyone else notice the fact that they started that whole "Lulu is an alcoholic" storyline, and then just completely dropped it? I secretly hoped it was because the writers realized that fans were not too interested in Lulu these days, but alas, I am sure it was due to some other factor.

I am loving Michael and Starr. Separately they were both drab and blah on their respective shows, but together they have chemistry and I cannot wait to see how thier story progresses.

This whole Kristina coming back aged 5 years (at least in appearance) and acting like a 6 year old who got teased at a sleep over is making my eyes and ears bleed. How about we make her act as grown up as she looks! They could have easily done this storyline with Lexi, since aging the character did nothing for her mental maturity.

OK well my little rant/two cents is in! Love to hear anyone's thoughts, about any of it.

Regarding the debate over

Regarding the debate over Olivia, I have a love/hate relationship with the character, depending on the moment lol I loved her with Johnny, I thought that LLC and BB had crazy hot chemistry. I liked her friendships with Jax and Carly a few years back. But I have always hated the way she softens toward Sonny, ESPECIALLY after Sonny shot Dante in the chest, and then kept blaming her for it. How it was HER fault because she hadn't told him the truth, even though the reason Dante got shot was because he was a cop, and Sonny was nothing more than a cold-hearted gangster. I haven't really taken to Steve and Olivia like I did Jolivia and have always kind of held out hope that Johnny and Olivia would get back together some day.

That said, I do agree with those who say Johnny has been written OOC lately, although I think that's been going on for a very long time. It's like TPTB thought that Johnny was becoming too popular as a possible romantic lead so they threw out all of his character growth, made him become obsessed with revenge on Sonny (which actually goes back to either Guza or Garin Wolf), and then had him sleep with a woman who was mentally ill as a result of that revenge. After Jolivia split up there were many romantic possibilities for Johnny that TPTB failed to explore. Throwing him back into a triangle with Lulu and Dante. Or having him hook up with Maxie (with Kirsten Storms rumored to be coming back, I really wish RC would pair up Maxie with Johnny, rather than have her return to Spinelli). Some enjoyed his flirtation with Carly, but I never cared much for that pairing either (still think Laura Wright was at her best with Ingo Rademacher, and can't see Carly with anyone other than Jax). I like Johnny's new partnership with Lulu at the Haunted Star, and think there's a lot more of his story left to explore, so I don't think I'd want to see him killed off either. But it sure does seem like RC has written him into a corner in order to get rid of him. Having him be responsible for Cole and Hopes' deaths, pretty much raping Kate, then convincing Kate (who is mentally ill) to take the wrap for the car accident, then killing Anthony (regardless of how crazy he was), that just seems like a lot to happen in such a short time if there wasn't a whodunit coming up.

My opinion on the OLTL characters is a little more mixed. I don't mind Todd, even find him amusing at times, but I didn't watch OLTL so I am not invested in him at all. It seems like many here hated him on OLTL, but as I said, being just a GH fan I don't have much of an opinion. I do, however, love John McBain on GH. He seems to fit really well. I've enjoyed him with Anna, and their past connection (recently created) seems natural and actually makes sense. I think he and Sam have smoking hot chemistry. And I've liked what little interaction he's had with Luke. I only recently warmed up to Starr, as I found her cringeworthy before. Since she's calmed down some she's more tolerable. I get the reasoning behind bringing them to GH. OLTL never got its proper ending due to the prospect park deal failing, so many stories were left hanging. I also get that FV and RC wanted to bring some OLTL fans over to GH. However, I wish there were more returning GH faves to get excited about. I enjoyed the Blair/Carly scenes a couple months ago, but I'm not really that excited about her returning to GH because I am not invested in her. Would rather see Ned Q, Dillon Q or Lucy Coe return, characters I adore and would love to see come back. With the success of Dallas on TNT, I wish TPTB at GH would realize what a gold mine they had in that Quartermaine family. It's such a shame that Guza spent so many years dismantling them at the altar of GH's mob family unit.

ConqueringBlue-Lovely and

ConqueringBlue-Lovely and thoughtful post. You pinpoint a lot of the same ideas I have regarding John Z., Olivia, Starr et al. The bully has cannibalized the canvas and I, for one, blame Guza, Wolf, and Frons. Phelps comes in for some of the blame also as showrunner because (and this is just me here), she was in a position to see what was happening with ratings dropping off. I keep holding on to the wish that RC will ship the bully off to his island or prison. However, given the last few episodes, (and with McBain turning a blind eye on the Scully, Jr. idiocy Angry ), I'm guessing my wish won't be granted any time soon. Sigh... Innocent
