Help me out here, folks.... I am sure there are some I am missing:

1) what happened to Abby?

2) who happened to Daisy? ( and for that matter, Lucy??)

3) who is the mystery person lurking in the shadows?

4) who is/was playing with Genevieve.s mind?

5) why did the fire at the ranch house burn everything, but not melt that bracelet? ( I have never seen so many people trample through a crime scene,,, oh wait.... I have. I forgot this is the Genoa City Police Department, the smartest detectives in the world! )

6) what was the connection between Harmony and Sarge?

Answer to them all except

Answer to them all except number 5: MAB was fired and Josh Griffith is the new headwriter.

There was quick endings on

There was quick endings on the the actors leaving but why drag out MAB's stories any longer then needed. It was more a soft reboot to reposition the characters fans knew for years. I'm mixed about but I'm so happy to be done with MAB. For Abby they might have purposely done this open ended because this way they could have Abby come home with a big story down the road. Lets be serious MAB's canvas was way to big needed the trim which I think will be trimmed again to allow certain actors return to the fold.

It's lazy writing to be

It's lazy writing to be honest. Yeah, they wanted to quickly wrap up stories, but it would take minutes to film a scene saying so-and-so went out of town to do x,y, and z, instead of having characters get the Jenny Winslow treatment.

I agree that it is lazy

I agree that it is lazy writing. All we'd need is a quick scene, say for example between Sarge and Harmony, to discuss their connection and then Josh could have left it open for exploration later. All the others that Tracey mentioned above were somewhat major plot points that need wrapping up. The worst is the treatment of the Abby character who unlike the rest WAS a major character for sometime. Write her out and don't leave us hanging or with questions. It doesn't leave a good feeling about what else might be just dropped. That's the worse a writer can do.

That's easily answered: Sharon's bracelet fell off when she returned to the scene of the crime, after the fire was extinguished. She was walking around noticing the carnage she created - since the bracelet wasn't charred or singed, that seems to be the definitive answer.

I don't consider it 'lazy writing' at all - I call it 'cleaning up what's best left un-remembered'.

At this point:

Who cares about the 'mystery woman'? It was all just another silly set-up for another sleep-inducing MAB/HS/SH so-called 'mystery'.

Who cares about Daisy, a character everyone including the audience hated??? I hope that debacle is gone for good!!

Who cares about the so-called connection with Sarge & Harmony? Again, these were ill-conceived, half-baked characters. No doubt the 'connection' story MAB had in store for us would have been ill-conceived & half-baked as well.

If you all remember correctly, Cane (Daniel Goddard) was going to turn out to be a evil character before Lynn Marie Latham was canned during the 2007 WGA strike. He made a cell call to someone named "Langley" saying that 'he was in' with the Chancellors - he was going to be a bad-ass crook. Once MAB took over, she went back to that dangling thread and had "Langley" become the still-alive Phillip Chancellor down in Australia.

I can't figure out why The

I can't figure out why The Price Is Right went through all of that trouble and expense to find a male model, and then only use him for a week??

And then Daniel Goddard pops up again as a male model on the game show??

Wonder who DG is bonking in the offices over at CBS??

Cleaning up still doesn't

Cleaning up still doesn't make sense. I for one regardless of the change in writers EXPECT to see the continuity as storylines begin and end. Douglas Marland did a great job with this. Of course we never had to worry when Bill, Kay or Jack were writing. Let's just wrap them up and move forward, not drop it even if some of it was crap. That's just me.

Bartman, true some of those

Bartman, true some of those stories deserved to be dropped, and at least Harmony got a scene with an explanation of why she was leaving/where she was going. But what they did with Abby was lazy. That character had too many close ties to major players to not have a single line of explanation for her disappearance.

I actually posted this

I actually posted this originally under another story (Trictoria's kidnapping) in error. So those of you that notice, forgive me! That's called not checking your place, just start writing. Similar to what is being talked about above. My laziness! Sorry!

Some thoughts/concerns about new regime:

Here comes the MOB sters!!! I knew it wouldn't take long. Now instead of Sonny, we get Eddie. (Thats your Latino character waiting in the wings!!)

And oh my! Is the Chancellor mansion (set) the next to go up in flames? While I agree the sets are filthy (check-out the Abbot living room, tables scratched, dusty, chair arms and back dirty), please don't give Y&R the "Avery quick-set" makeover!! I mean, I'm glad Avery is being meshed-out and now has a home but orange curtains pulled back to create a dining room ain't gonna do it for Victor and Ms. C!!!

Most of you begged and pleaded for the end of MAB. Betcha didn't think that when Jill came aboard, you'd get General Hospital West Coast - horribly, cheap sets, mobsters, and fast paced storys. Remember, Y&R has always been known for slow and character based story-telling. I remember when Lorie's and Leslie's arguments over Lance Prentiss would take one week to get through, all in one scene. That was one of the things that set Bill Bell's Y&R apart from the typical soap of the day. Just as soaps (take GL) have tried something new, Bill Bell did with Y&R's debut and it worked! Just waiting to see how much more it will change now.

While I kinda agree that some

While I kinda agree that some of the resolution wrap-ups have been a little lazy, I also agree that the canvas needed a good trimming and a tighter focus and I think that's what we're getting. The only cast cut that I feel was a true mistake was Marcy Rylan(though I wish they'd also given Jennifer Landon an extension because she was actually a pretty good Heather despite the crappy writing and zero character development she'd been given). Now they just need to wrap up the Paul murder business and I think that'll pretty much take care of all of MAB's stuff.

brando70456...My question is

brando70456...My question is about your information being about mobsters coming on to invade GC? I not saying you might be correct but if you have read something on a site about mobsters, Mrs. C's mansion burning? Bill did have fire at the Chancellor mansion in the "70s. It didn't burn completely down but drunk ass Katherine was smoking back then and started a fire and how they remodeled Katherine's bedroom which use to be featured quite a lot way back then in the beginnings. I would love to read about the info myself. What I read and gathered from the some of the info about Eddie is either he was Billy's bookie or connection possibly with the mob. Either Billy sold him out and he owed him money or maybe testified against him which cause him to go to prison and now Billy's past gambling problems have caught up with him and Eddie wants his money. The only fast paced stories I have seen is the wrap-up of MAB's stories (agree or disagree) to set a foundation to move forward. I might be mistaken but I think Josh might had been writing when it came to light about Billy's gambling addiction because Billy went to Jack for help and Jack paid off some of his debts. The new stories coming up are not as fast paced as MAB. The pacing has been rather good because little beats have been playing more in story compared to MAB. You are so correct about how Bill's did his pacing and it was as slow as molasses and was criticized big time even back then about Bill's snail pace but today soaps couldn't do that type of pacing anymore because times have changed. Right now on Y&R is being character based in stories which MAB never did all she did was horrible plot driven drivel.

ChrisGa...ITA agree with you

ChrisGa...ITA agree with you about Abby but they did leave it open ended which maybe down the road for Abby to return. I so agree w\you about JL as "Heather". I was really enjoying her version of Heather more than any other Heathers and could had potential for a good story. I'm not going to quibble because the canvas so needed trimming and could still need a few more cuts to fully concentrate on the core cast and then in few months the team could build out from the cast. Paul's story is going to be wrapping up here in the next couple weeks because J&J have plans for Christine & Paul. Smile

Yeah, I can't quite figure

Yeah, I can't quite figure out how Chris is going to come back with a bombshell but Heather isn't with her. Doesn't quite ring true. Unless Chris took off from a rest stop without her. Or Daisy pushed her into a volcano.

Puhleeze, no more

Puhleeze, no more fires...surely! Paul's story with Ricky had so much potential but it seems to have been sputtering along since Josh took over, so I'd like to see it wrapped ASAP. And I know I'll get some hate over this one, but we also need some resolution with Patty and Daisy. I hate all these loose ends. Is the Gen story going to be dropped too? Geez!

Wake me up when they finish Paul's s/l. Tired

Heather will probably find a great job in CA, and that will be Daniel's exit story, he is leaving to be with her, and take Lucy with him. Isn't Lucy currently with Daniel.

Who gives a rats ass about Daisy, who cares where she is don't come back, and I don't want to see another Fisher/Carter EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Angry

Send the chipmunk packing too.

Gloworm is toast so what does that leave for Glo/Jeff will they both be leaving for Dallas? Chloe Tired

They don't need to burn down the Chancellor estate but someone as loaded as Mrs C, to still have furnishings from the 70's?
