Please correct me if I am wrong, but is it the 40th anniversary coming up?

Are they shooting those scenes now?

Anyone have any hot gossip as to what will be going on, or anyone from the past coming back for cameos???

Yes, this year is Y&R's 40th Anniversary. As for shooting scenes for those episodes which will air in March, I suspect that they will start filming those episodes here soon if they haven't already.

40 years! Is it 27 of those at #1, and a good run from 555-5555. I'd love to see it return to its glory days when really no other show could touch it in overall quality.

I hoping 2013 is the beginning of a new period for the show. I still long to have Kay Alden back writing, and the return of Dru. C'mon that's only two wishes... Smile

I was surfing and CBS is

I was surfing and CBS is giving promos in primetime for 40th Anniversary show. This is good news if true. Now for anniversary show CBS needs to do the same thing for Y&R, CBS did a primetime special 40th on GL and has been there only soap on CBS to have that honor...Y&R in honor of Bill deserves a primetime special.

No one will want to here this but I know Jill's work for anniversary shows she did GL admirable and showed respect and put on show. So I'm going to have faith Y&R's show will be good. Here's clip from primetime GL 40th, 2nd part starts with Ameila & Vince introducing there characters and weddings. Including a classy clip of Nola & Vanessa wearing the same gown to the costume party! Love

For the 40th, I would

For the 40th, I would enjoying seeing: the Brooks Sisters; the Prentices; Casey Reed, and a whole bunch of others who once passed through Genoa City!

It's weird to think that Y

It's weird to think that Y and R almost completely "started over" under Bill when he wrote off the Brooks family and wrote in the Abbotts. He was so great at getting people hooked by creating FAMILIES we cared about, not just a randon character here and there.

I would love to see them all too and it would be fitting. I'd love to think it's going to be around still in 2023, but one just doesn't know!

For the 40th, I think the

For the 40th, I think the Brooks and Fosters should return. Maybe it could be Nikki and Victor's FINAL WEDDING!!! Make it really big, like at the Colonnade Room again, with all the old favs.

To be honest, I would set up everything the week before. I'd have Katherine suffer something MINOR, but of course because of her age, everyone would rush to her side. I'd bring back Brock, Mac (played by the original), Jill, Nina, Chance, and even RONAN.

I would have one scene of the episode be Victor and Nikki's wedding. The other scene be the Chancellor's getting Katherine out of the hospital (because she's better, and have sort of a WELCOME HOME party for her)

I would of course have tons of flashbacks, between Victor and Nikki, and Katherine and Jill, Philip Chancellor, Nina, Cricket, etc...

Another scene would probably be the Abbott's at the breakfast table, with Jack, Ashley, Billy, Abby, Kyle, Traci. Have Traci announce at the end of the episode that she's STAYING in town.

Let's see Nina and Ronan continue to try and work out their relationship.

I want to see Phyllis surprise Jack at the ABbott breakfast by having arranged for Keemo to come to town for a visit.

To be honest, I know it won't happen, but I'd love for the 40th to be based solely on the past, and built around the families. The Newman's at the wedding of Victor and Nikki. The Abbott's all around the breakfast table. The Chancellor's and their extended family at the Mansion with Katherine. I'd like to see the Winters featured...even the Fisher-Baldwin clan. Bring Danny back to town for a little while and have he and Lauren do a duet at the reception of Victor and Nikki, just for old time's sake.

Have Gina cater the wedding and sing one of her songs too. Hell, even Traci can get in on the action.

Why has there been no talk of

Why has there been no talk of the upcoming Y&R 40th, in the media or from the TPTB over there? Are they really only being secretive about it or?

My guess is because there will BE no bing bang - maybe one episode where someone says: "Remember in the 70's when Katherine used to..." and that's it.

GH and it's fans has been talking about the upcoming 50th since last summer, and then excitement is building up week after week. Why is there none of that from Y&R's direction?

I noticed in today's opening

I noticed in today's opening sequence ( Tuesday ) the additions of Tyler and Leslie!!

I simply do not like Tyler. Too cocksure of himself, walking around like he is the best thing since sliced bread.

to answer someone's question:

to answer someone's question: perhap's the 40th Anniversary was a bit overshadowed by the 10,000th episode hype?

I am sure CBS will certainly promote the 40th Anniversary....
