Well, finally here are the ratings people have been salivating over. Seems every soap was down, too bad GH lost their number one spot in the demos.

Historically, the ratings

Historically, the ratings have tended to go down in December. The networks are probably not the least bit worried about these.

They'll likely be down for the following week too.

I looked at the Christmas

I looked at the Christmas week ratings for last year (that have yet to come out this year) and YR is up against a pretty big week...4.85 mil. It'll be interesting to see if they can beat that.

Too bad all the press they are getting is negative press, especially when there is a HW change and new material that in my opinion is looking damn good.

I'm almost ready to hop on Jean's bandwagon, as long as I don't see a lot of crazy crap happening. YR is not the place for it.

This is interesting.....

I went and looked at the full ratings and rating system makes no sense to me. YR up in the demos but down in the 25-54 demo which is basically the same as the 18-49 age group it seems. So how can you decipher the ratings between these age groups?

Friday caught my eye YR was at 3.1 that's scary almost dipping below 3.0 and especially on a Friday which should be cliffhanger day.

It's funny all soaps are doing better ratings compared to last year or two and being growth in quarters but it has to do to the fact with less soaps on the air now. There isn't really any competitive edge to daytime drama nowadays. If we had just 2 more soaps I think the ratings would be quite different and spread out.

Harlee...I agree. And that's why I said that really all four soaps are really just like each other. (Maybe with the exception of BB.)

Years ago, you could tell the highs and the lows as you watch the shows.

I've been tuning in to the other two that I don't watch daily since they've been getting a lot of buzz, but with the exception of Kristen's wedding on Days, there's been nothing I've found that excites me on any of the shows.

The four have gotten so similar in pacing that I feel beats are missed and none are the consistent entertaining shows that I used to love.

I still say the soaps were the best in the mid to late 80's. I watched about 5-6 back then when I was in school, and they all were completely different.
