WOW. It's been YEARS since I've seen a 4.0.

It's the weather, but hopefully the ratings can be maintained just a LITTLE. I don't want to see 3.2's anymore.

And while the show continues to be trashed, I actually find it to be improving. The stories are finally showing movement again...it felt like we were stuck for a while. So I'm not complaining at all. Great for ALL THE SHOWS...

I'm proud of my soaps. All four of them.

Let's hope they keep the cold weather viewers. Smile

It has to be more than that though because a lot of primetime shows are down ratings-wise.

JFP is saying, "Let the haters hate!"

But she has pulled a win out there. A win for sure!

Yeah, everyone is silent

Yeah, everyone is silent about those Y&R numbers...

I haven't really had time to watch as closely as I usually do, but the show does seem to be a little better now compared to a few months ago. So IDK. Maybe being over 800,000 up compared to last year isn't that great...*shrug*

Weather or not Y&R is

Weather or not Y&R is terribly boring and painfully predictable. I guess some are easily amused. Now B&B has been very good minus The genius Lame trying to solve a faux diamond heist. He still has that stupid mouth wide open catching flies look.

Paul will end up being Dyldumbs dad to have some faux jealousy between Christine and the breathless wonder. Now Victor will have another reason to be pitching a fit. Will the bug and the old crusty turd have a vomit inducing affair?

Victor will end up fighting Jack and Chelsea for custody of Connor and of course will win.

Chloe another resident psycho.

Tyler and Abby with an ex-gf stalker. All so original.

The lovely Ms Case will be the next to be shown the door.

The Carmine story is sooooo past it's expiration date.

The yawn inducing spawn of Nikki and Avery together on screen, the newest and bestest super couple on the planet.

Let's see another death of a child, the hunt for its killah and the constant reference to said person.
The male parent cheating. Lets not even get started on Billy leaving a seven year old perfectly capable of walking not having to wrestle with a car seat or a sleeping child in the car alone and driving a M class and not even locking and alarming the child in the car to do so, then blaming everyone including the mailman. The useless Kevin and Billy trying to yield vigilante justice. Oh how exciting!!

The show is becoming watchable.

That is why the ratings are up. They are slowly getting a grip on story. Jean has her stories and Shelly has hers. No one person should carry the burden of an hour soap opera with out major help.

Y&R was quite good the week

Y&R was quite good the week in question. I really like the garage scenes with Victor and Adam. I'm no fan of JFP but it gets harder to deny she's tapped into new or returning audience members. I still think the show is strongest when featuring it's vets. They were heavily featured this particular week.

I have no doubt that "some"

I have no doubt that "some" of MM's fans may turn off YR after the end of the month, but like most loyal soap viewers, they'll return or take sneak peeks here and there I'm sure.

I don't know of anyone who stopped watching a show because their "fav" at the time was let go or quit.

If that was the case, I would have bolted when Jaime Lyn Bauer, Terry Lester, Eileen Davidson, Brenda Dickson, Victoria Rowell, Michelle Stafford (all bigger than MM) left at their time.

Plus with the 3 year renewal, the show has plenty of time to recover, especially if Phelps gets canned.

MM's dismissal will more than likely have zero effect on the ratings. The average Y&R fan will probably be happy to see the character of Adam get punished in some way for the Delia Abbott hit-and-run.

Pferrando Y&R

Did suffer a loss under when Brenda Dickson and Victoria Rowell left as well as with Shemar Moore in which they lost over 800k viewers. So they do come and go with certain actors. I just don't know if "MM" or the fans of today actually that hung up on him.

I'm just going off of what's been clogging up Twitter for the past month.

I understand their frustration with losing the actor, and I liked him too. I just don't think the show's story will suffer at all by his departure.

There are too many other characters who I think are much more important to the show right now that I wish the new writers would take advantage of.

I've been saying all along,

I've been saying all along, Y&R's ratings were high before MM was old enough to buy a beer.

They'll still be number 1 when he leaves.

Will some people stop watching? Sure. Will it make a HUGE show-threatening impact? HELL NAW (for lack of a better term)

The guy's been on the show for about 5 years...not 50, not even 15. If he wasn't on the show when I was in high school, then I would hardly consider him to be a vet...or someone who is irreplaceable. And yes, I liked Adam too.

I can't believe people would be so stupid as to not see the real "murder" going on here, which is the utter and total ruination of Adam's character, along with a slew of others. Yes, he has done bad things before, but this is the son of Victor and Hope we are talking about. He is someone who is, and should be, a major player on this show and a part of the canvas. Do these people actually think they can replace Adam with Dylan? Really??? Because that's just never going to happen. Whatever happened to and with MM, that has nothing to do with the character of Adam. The LEAST they could do is let Adam leave town, etc. and not treat him in this manner.

I don't know if I would use the word "stupid" to describe them; not in this instance anyway. What is definitely true is that most soap fans manage to live their lives and go about their daily concerns without actively participating in the echo-chamber of soap blogs and websites and tend not to question the motivations of TPTB.

Yoryla...which is why I believe they've stated Adam will be recast and return to the canvas in the future.

I think everyone who's more loyal to the show than to one character is just plain tired of the whole MM mess (me), and just want it behind us. I also think most people enjoyed MM (me).

The whole thing was blown out of proportion, and I don't see how writing the character out is ruining the Adam character.

The character has actually always been polarizing. I myself, NEVER could believe Sharon would get involved with her baby's kidnapper...and I think by originally writing him as so evil, then trying to redeem him, never was fully played out yet. So let's see what this THIRD Adam is like when he returns.

I'm more anxious about them recasting Stafford. That's someone more difficult to replace...plus she has much more history than MM.

My hope is that we find out Adam didn't accidentally kill Delia, and when he returns, they can play that out

I don't see the way Adam is

I don't see the way Adam is being written as tptb trying to ruin him.

He MISTAKENLY ran over Delia and kept going. And after the fact he realized that he hit the child.

Compare that to gaslighting Ashley for an entire summer, causing her to fall down the stairs and lose the child. Then wipe up the bloody mess and throw it in the fireplace, switch another woman's child with that one, then MARRY the woman...frame your father for murder, inject your OWN eyes with botox (or whatever) just to get out of jail...NOT EAT for a while to lose weight to slip the monitor off your ankle, sleep with your gay lawyer to get what you want out of him, then immediately afterwards call your girlfriend over to remind yourself that you actually like women...yeah, this has been consistently for the past five years that MM has been playing Adam.

So in retrospect, what he's doing now is no different than its always been. Except now he's showing a hint of regret..
