Forums Days of Our Lives Days should hire some OLTL actors Viewing 12 posts - 1 through 12 (of 12 total) Author Posts November 24, 2011 at 11:07 pm #120156 Terry_Gyimah 183 Posts Since One Life to Live is now officially off the air, or it will be come January, there are going to be at least a few actors from One Life to Live who could really use having some work, and some of them could realistically end up here on Days of Our Lives, some of them could wind up on Young and the Restless, some could end up on Bold and the Beautiful or some of them could end up on General Hospital, well the actors who I would want here on Days of Our Lives are, well 3 actors from One Life to Live and they are: 1) Melissa Archer who plays Natalie Buchanan on One Life to Live as a re-cast for Sarah Horton, Maggie’s daughter with Mickey Horton, Sarah being the biological daughter of Maggie Horton and Neil Curtis, with Sarah back in town Maggie would have at least one of her daughters back in town in Salem, and Sarah would get to meet her new half-brother Daniel Jonas as well as her new niece Melanie, and with Sarah back in town she would be a Horton as Mickey adopted Sarah as his daughter even when that truth came out that Sarah wasn’t his daughter biologically, Mickey adopted her anyways and Sarah grew up as a Horton, Sarah grew up as Mickey’s daughter and Sarah considered herself to be Mickey’s daughter and Mickey considered Sarah to be his blood daughter, he didn’t care about DNA. Sarah with her back in town, she could be against her mom Maggie being with her new husband Victor because of her dad Mickey’s death. But Sarah eventually warms up to the idea of her mom & Victor in time, but along the way Sarah finds love with Brady Black causing a triangle with Madison James. Not only that but Melissa Archer also looks like Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) in terms of them both having red hair, and a fiery personality that they can totally be mother and daughter. 2) Josh Kelly who plays Cutter Wentworth on One Life to Live, as a re-cast for Eric Brady, Roman & Marlena’s son and Sami’s twin brother, because Josh could definitely pass for being Alison’s twin brother, as they look similar to each other, and not only that but with Eric Brady he would be playing a more serious role, and Eric it is about time he comes home to Salem, he needs to be here for his twin sister Sami and his other sister Carrie for sure but also for his mom Marlena too. 3) David A. Gregory who plays Robert Ford on One Life to Live, as a re-cast for Alexander Kiriakis, Justin’s oldest son and Sonny’s older brother Alexander who is back in town after all these years, and Alex with him back in town Alexander he can be a love interest for Melanie November 25, 2011 at 9:18 pm #436116 Camp is not a sustainable model 826 Posts I’d gonna have say pass on these castings. The reason why is we need to focus on the characters that fans have been asking for if they were going to bring people on then Tanya Boyd as Celeste would be along the lines of someone who would fit into the show at this point. Days also just let go of a lot of dead weight. So they are fine where they are right now. I’d rather them just focus on who they have verses getting caught up with too many new cast members. Another issue would be that this would spat in the face of Crystal Chappell and Louis Sorel fans. Why get rid of these two just to pick up some actors from defunct show? So while Days is fine where they are, the only reason to bring on any other characters would be the veteran characters played by the actors who made them popular who would fit into the immediate scope of things. November 26, 2011 at 2:54 am #436127 Anonymous 2898 Posts NO to using other soaps’ former stars. Y&R has tried this and it’s a mess. I mean, Laura Spencer sexing Jack Abbott?! Good Lord, it’s ridiculous! Days made a smart move by bringing back its own vets this fall and not the vets of other soaps. Now if they just brought back Lucas, I’d be a happy camper. November 29, 2011 at 3:35 pm #436257 harlee490 960 Posts @David, I agree with you about the casting, just take a pause and utilize the characters Days have brought back to the show. The point I think I agree with is Josh Kelly. He would make a good Eric and being the son of Marlena & Roman, this recast would work. It’s time for Days to bring back Eric and showing Marlena, Roman interacting with a son which is abit of hole in the canvas. They have for years had their daughters at least Marlena has with Sami & Belle, Roman w\Carrie & Sami. Another advantage could make a strong triangle is Brady\Madison\Eric. Eric\Brady being psuedo brothers could create story and friction especially for Marlena & John and supporting each son. November 29, 2011 at 7:37 pm #436275 SoapArmageddon 397 Posts If it’s to play characters that were already part of Days and the original actors can’t be brought back for some reason OR to play characters that will help to move existing stories along (Will or EJ’s current stories, for example), then YES; I’m ok with that. However, if they’re going to be newly created characters that will get their own stories and take away from those that I’m currently enjoying, then NO. November 29, 2011 at 11:49 pm #436297 Camp is not a sustainable model 826 Posts Lucas and Celeste would be two to round-out the cast. Just because the history these characters have with the show since the 90’s. And maybe if they wanted to bring in a foil to breakup Abe and Lexie then finding a decent actress to play Wendy, Nurse Lynn would work. Although the original actress Marie R. is free to return. But I’d say that the two I named are the ones that come off the mouths of fans the most and would be the best a t moving the story along. Now going back for a minute the problems with say Carly, Vivan, Patch, Kayla, Adrienne, and others from way in the past is that Days has changed so much since those days and the direction and use characters also changed that it really wasn’t feasible to try and bring them back. You pretty much had to rewrite the show to suit their needs verses being able to pick up where you left off. So stick with those who have the most current importance and history that has been consistent over the last 20 years. November 30, 2011 at 1:16 am #436300 SoapArmageddon 397 Posts Campy, Crazy, Clairvoyant Celeste was one of my favorites from the J.E. Reilly days, but I think that might be precisely why we’ll never see her again. Ken Corday is probably trying to keep the show away from some of the over-the-top campiness that J.E.R. was famous for. It would be interesting to see how Lucas reacts to his son being gay. I used to get a gay vibe from Lucas himself back in the day. His hatred of half-brother Austin always seemed to be mixed with frustrated lust. November 30, 2011 at 2:48 am #436309 Camp is not a sustainable model 826 Posts And the forever using the word “Dar’ling.” That was her signature! I also liked the way she said people’s full first names like “Ab’ra’ham” and “Alex’andra!” She was last seen in 2007. You know though they could age Theo and Hope’s daughter to teenagers and put them in a relationship together. Now that would be hot. November 30, 2011 at 5:25 am #436325 Anonymous 2898 Posts I would LOVE to see Lucas and Celeste back on Days. Lucas is Sami’s best love interest—I LOVE LUMI!!! And Celeste is awesome. Lexie needs her mother. Can you believe that Celeste hasn’t been around since Theo’s autism diagnosis? Ridiculous! Celeste can be on recurring and Lucas can be on contract. November 30, 2011 at 7:08 pm #436343 harlee490 960 Posts Days FANS MUST Read…Drunken rage, guilt, and blackmailing bastard…EJ…this was just posted on Michael Logan’s TV Guide soap site and he’s interviewing Chandler Massey about his story line coming up and BOY this will be INTENSE and loving the approach Days in a very old school fashion of soap opera telling…SLOW (not everyone will be happy, I don’t mind because this will be a fun ass ride) because it will have a lot of twist and turns and create truly an umbrella story for many characters involved with Will. Awhile ago a poster mentioned they wanted EJ to be the scheming bastard Dimera he is and he will be using Will for his slave. This is must read for DOOL fans to get the scoop. Will probably won’t come out until May sweeps and setting up summer story for when school is OUT, actually smart move for the targeted demos. I can’t wait. This is what it said in the beginning with link to article. “He’s sure no poster boy for GLAAD. Will Horton, the Days of Our Lives teenager played by Chandler Massey, is gay and deeply, desperately in denial about it. And his coming-out story won’t take the politically safe route. Days currently has another young gay character — Will’s friend Sonny, played by former 90210 star Freddie Smith — who is out and proud and inspiringly comfortable in his own skin. But Will’s saga will be packed with guilt, rage, violence, drinking and blackmail — and that’s weeks before the kid even has his first gay kiss! TV Guide Magazine spoke with Massey to get some exclusive deets on where this landmark plot is headed. Spoiler warning!” Enjoy! This definitely will get the juices flowing for an exciting story and on a different level. How they decide to bring Will OUT. This young man CM is the best younger actor I’ve seen in almost 15 years…well since Tammy Blanchard from GL. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Chandler-Massey-Interview-1040249.aspx December 13, 2011 at 12:22 am #437321 Terry_Gyimah 183 Posts Trevor St. John or Roger Howarth on Days of Our Lives for sure December 17, 2011 at 3:58 am #437760 Terry_Gyimah 183 Posts Kassie DePaiva who plays Blair Cramer on One Life to Live, as a new character who comes on as a love interest for Jack, causing a triangle with Jennifer Viewing 12 posts - 1 through 12 (of 12 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
