She's a writer who has everyone talking, and Hollywood making deals! On today's Pop Confidential podcast Jamey Giddens goes one-on-one with Josie Brown, whose steamy novel Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives is being adapted by mega producer Jerry Bruckheimer for NBC.

Find out what Brown makes of Bruckheimer, known for producing action-charged procedurals and big budget blockbusters, transforming her novel, about oh-so-desperate housewives in a posh gated community, into a primetime thriller/soap. She also reveals which of her other fiction tomes has Hollywood salivating.

Days of Our Lives bad boy James Scott can add music video lothario to his resume. Scott recently nabbed the lead role in pop star Roxanna's video, "Unforgotten". Just how did the actor nab the role? Roxanna, a fan of DAYS, revealed the details on her web site:

That show is my comfort food. It calms me down. And, come on, James is the hottest guy alive.” She actually visited the show’s studio to request his presence… followed by emails and calls. “I’m sure he thought I was a fan stalking him.” With three days to go before the shoot, at last, Scott responded with a thumbs-up. She adds, “We spent 18 hours in the desert for the video. It’s sultry and hot.

Ellen DeGeneres Wants You to Vote For Stuff

With the election season in full swing, Hollywood has rolled out a campaign encouraging American’s to vote in this year’s election. Comedian and daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres joined Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Selena Gomez, Edward Norton, Jonah Hill, Benicio Del Toro, Sarah Silverman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and soap grad  Amanda Seyfried in the bipartisan campaign Vote 4 Stuff.

DiCaprio told the Associated Press:

"This is one of the most important elections of our lifetime," said DiCaprio, whose production company, Appian Way, is a producer of Vote 4 Stuff. "We are using the power of social media throughout the Vote 4 Stuff campaign to incite bipartisan conversation around real issues, encourage registration and voting in November."

The tongue-in-cheek video features stars saying what they’d vote for. Zac Efron claims he’d vote to keep tigers out of school and for more high fives.  Deltoro would cast his ballot for 4-day weekends. Ellen claims she’d vote to give women the right to vote.
