Michael Fairman went on location for the filming of Venice, Crystal Chappell's highly-anticipated web series, to get some scoops and previews for Advocate.com. During the visit he chatted with Chappell, co-star Jessica Leccia, writer-producer Kim Turrisi, Nadia Bjorlin and Gina Tognoni. Leccia shared the following.

Jessica Leccia (Chapell’s former love interest on GL) told me the character she plays in Venice, Ani, is far removed from her days in Springfield on the canceled CBS soap.

“Everything is pretty much different with Ani. They are night and day. Ani is way more with it than Natalia. She has a career and is goal-oriented and is on the pulse of everything. She is really busy and human and in love ... and all the things that come with that. She is way savvier than Natalia. Ani is going to be a force to be reckoned with and is more of a go-getter to get what she wants. Gina may be what she wants, and that is her big dilemma in this whole thing ... loving somebody and not having it the way she would like it to be.”

It looks like the road to true love for Gina (Crystal Chappell) and Ani (Jessica Leccia) will be paved with plenty of gorgeous bumps along the road once Venice premieres next month. TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco is reporting the sexsational Nadia Bjorlin will be appearing as a love interest for Ani on the sapphic soap. Maxim staple Bjorlin going gay-for-pay? Venice just enticed an entirely new demographic before it's even premiered — horny frat boys, and straight male soap opera executives!

Ok, so it's been a while since you last heard from me writing for Daytime Confidential. I am making a comeback. A comeback similar to that of Crystal Chappell in the role of Carly Manning on Days of Our Lives. On Friday October 2nd, Carly stuck a knife into Lawrence in the closing scenes of the show. It was a show-stopping cliffhanger that soaps almost fear to have in the Common Era. It was a Friday left hanging, with fans wondering who she was, struck with an "Oh My God" impression that quickly starts to trigger the heart aflutter, with the hope viewers will return in droves on Monday to witness the conclusion. Guiding Light fans on the West Coast will now have a chance to say "So Long Springfield" when the event makes a stop in Las Vegas. The hot Nevada destination will mark the third city on the tour that plays host to popular GL stars, following Pittsburgh and Atlanta. Score another win for one of the hardest working women in daytime. Crystal Chappell tweeted the latest addtion to the Venice cast. Says Chappell,

Apparently, U got it! My beauty, Lesli Kay, will join Venice! She's quite the distraction!

Kay has been cast as a love interest for Chappell's character Gina.

In an interview with TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco, Crystal Chappell talks about Natalia, not being able to take Otalia to As the World Turns, her return to Days of Our Lives and the rumors she and Deidre Hall didn't get along.

TVG: If it wasn’t for you and Jessica, I doubt I would have watched GL at all this past year. You made the show bearable. I know The Young and the Restless was your first choice post-GL, and they wanted you, but unfortunately they have an abundance of actresses in your age range. I have to admit I was a tad surprised you didn’t parlay your buzz factor and unbelievable talent to the big screen or prime time.

CC: It’s not out of the picture at this point! [Laughs] Gary Tomlin is a friend of mine. To be honest with you, DAYS wasn’t even on my radar at that point. But I’m glad I made the decision to join DAYS. I’m so happy to be a part of DAYS and it’s a really comfortable place for me to be at. DAYS has been unbelievably accommodating when it comes to my web series. DAYS is also dark 15 weeks out of the year, so that allows me to do other projects. We’ll see what happens. I feel very lucky these days because there aren’t a lot of parts for women my age. And fun parts, for that matter. And Carly is fun!

I half expect my DVR to stop working any second. I keep rewinding the blink-and-you'll-miss-it ending to Friday's Days of Our Lives over and over again. CARLY'S (Crystal Chappell) BACK BITCHES!!! Okay, okay, sure I had read the spoilers and knew Carly would kill Lawrence (Chappell's real life hubby Michael Sabatino), but nothing could have prepared me for actually seeing the once noble Katerina Von Leuschner carving the baddie like a Thanksgiving Turkey! In part two of her interview with US Townhall's Scott K., Days Of Our Lives star Crystal Chappell gives a little taste of what viewers can expect with her alter ego's Carly and arch rival Vivian (Louise Sorel).

USTH: During your original stint on DAYS, probably the thing that most fans would remember is that your character was buried alive by Louise Sorel’s character. Can we assume that Carly won’t let bygones be bygones? Do fans have good old-fashioned soap fireworks to look forward to between these two ladies?

CC: Absolutely. Both women are strong, smart, clever and unwilling to back down. So yes, you are going to see a lot of fireworks, and it is like the old-fashioned soaps.
 

 

Daniel Cosgrove will not make the first season of former co-star Crystal Chappell's web series Venice. On Twitter, the actress tweeted, 

I have some bad news. Danny C is unavailable to work in October. Busy actor! He sends love and regards to Venice. And promises to jump aboard next season!

Fear not fans! Chappell snagged another former co-star from Guiding Light, Jeff Branson! Says Chappell,
