Imagine a Life After the Mob for Sonny on GH

Stephen Seidel from We Love Soaps TV went on the set of General Hospital and spoke with some of your favorite GH stars, including Maurice Benard. When Seidel asks if Sonny can ever get out of the mob I was reminded of the Reba McEntire's "Is There Life Out There" because let's face it, there's a whole lot of stuff Sonny hasn't done that doesn't involve the mob. Sonny Corinthos for Governor! GH fans who speculate about Sonny and Jason's (Steve Burton) relationship might also want to watch the clip.

Seidel also chats with Nancy Lee GrahnLexi Ainsworth, Jonathan Jackson, Rebecca HerbstDominic Zamprogna and Julie Marie Berman.

General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

The performer of the day has got to be Aaron Refvem (Morgan). He started in on Carly about what’s wrong with their family, asked why it keeps falling apart, why everyone quits, and when he started crying, it just broke my heart. Then he said the line about Jax being with his real child and I felt even worse. Michael doesn’t like Jax, so he won’t care if Jax breaks up with Carly. Jocelyn is too young to know what’s going on, but Morgan is stuck in the middle. He's Sonny’s son, but he has been raised primarily by Jax and we can see they have a pretty strong relationship. READ MORE

General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Apparently there's a little town called Delusion-ville. The mayor is none other than Sonny "you're my kid so we have to bond, even though there's a gaping hole in your chest" Corinthos. Of course, the deputy mayor is none other than Elizabeth "I was happy banging your brother, but what will my life be like without you in it" Webber.

Kudos to Dominic Zamprogna.

Dante was so bang-on in everything he said to Sonny. I was cheering at almost every line that came out of his mouth and shaking my head at almost every line that came out of Sonny's. Sonny actually believes and expects, almost demands that Dante be interested in a father/son relationship despite the fact that he shot him with the intent purpose to kill him. The only good thing is that Dante is an adult so there will be no custody battle and Dante can ignore him as long as possible.  READ MORE

General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

“Michael Corinthos, Junior, you’re under arrest for the murder of Claudia Zachara Corinthos.”

Ok, so I got goose bumps when Dante pulled out that badge and got all Detective Falconeri on Sonny. However, I don’t understand why he didn’t pull out a gun with that badge because it just became about Dante trying to talk himself out of getting shot.

Kudos to Dominic Zamprogna because he was absolutely mesmerizing in those final scenes by bringing up Mr. Poleti, only to have Sonny dismiss him. Telling Sonny that he has no respect for him was beautiful.

As much as I hate Olivia, and I do, I did start crying when she pulled open the door and screamed out Dante’s name. Of course, that might have more to do with the fact that my man Dante was lying on the floor with a bullet hole in him, but you know. READ MORE

General Hospital Superstar-in-the-Making, Dominic Zamprogna on Today's Show!

On Air, On Soaps editor Michael Fairman spoke to the guy who catches a bullet from his own Pops on today's General Hospital,  Mr. Dominic Zamprogna (Dante)! Check out what D-Sizzle had to say after seeing his gut wrenching scenes opposite Maurice Benard (Sonny).

MICHAEL: Oh, you got a Sneak Peek. What did you think of it?

DOMINIC: I thought it was awesome. Laura Wright (Carly) always says, “You are never as bad as you think you are or as good as you think you are,” and I think that is a very fair statement. I felt really awesome on the day we did it. You always pick things apart in an unfair way when you watch it as an actor who is looking back at their performance. You can’t dictate when the producers are going to cut to what shot, or really know how you are going to look. You just hope it turns out well. I am having a hard time putting into words what it is like working with Maurice, because I just watched our big scenes and it worked so great. He came up to me before we taped these pivotal scenes, and he said, “Let’s do it. Let’s kill it.” And we did, and the scenes were written so well. And Maurice is the kind of guy that if you stay with him throughout the scene it will be a roller coaster, and that is what it’s supposed to be. When I first came on the show, because our characters were feeling each other out, as well as we as people, like, “Who is this guy that can just walk into my house and tell me how it is?” So, I don’t think Sonny has ever had to deal with a character like that. So it’s kind of interesting to be in a kind of fake position of power, because in reality, I am scared out of my pants going up against this guy. He could pull out a gun any second and shoot me. But as an actor, I felt like this was my best way to play it, even if it’s false bravado. I was to be able to come in and be the tough guy with Sonny.

General Hospital Spoilers!

Here's the Scoop!

What a way to kick off Sweeps by having Sonny shoot his son! I know, it’s GH and Sweeps tends to start around someone getting shot or kidnapped but I for one am ready for this secret to be out and in the open. We all thought having Luke Spencer’s son become a cop was a slap in the face well Sonny Corinthos’s son being the undercover cop sent in to take the mobster down has actually been a story I enjoy. I probably give about eighty-five percent of the credit to Dominic Zamprogna simply because I think he’s the break out star of 2009. The other fifteen percent? It’s a combo of Lulu and Dante being created out of this and watching Michael go up against Dominic these past few days. Luke Kerr hates Michael the self righteous brat, despite loving Drew Garrett the actor (which is a true testament to this kid’s talent) but I love the ground work being set for these two brothers to really go at it after the reveal.
