The devastating explosions at the Boston Marathon have had the entire country reeling since Monday. Daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres used the tag of her self-titled program to convey her thoughts to the city of Boston and her audience as a whole. I totally agree with her short, simple message — be kind to one another. Watch the video after the jump. READ MORE
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi may be one of Hollywood’s most high-profile gay couples, but don’t expect to see them on the cover of People with a baby. In an interview with Out, de Rossi discusses her passion for acting, her marriage to Ellen and whether or not the couple will ever have children. Said the actress:
“There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, Am I going to have kids so I don’t miss out on something that other people really seem to love? Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart? I didn’t feel that my response was ‘yes’ to the latter. You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So it’s just going to be me and Ellen and no babies -- but we’re the best of friends and married life is blissful, it really is. I’ve never been happier than I am right now.”
Country crooner Brad Paisley is catching a lot of flack for one particular song on his latest CD, Wheelhouse. In "Accidental Racist", Paisley and duet partner LL Cool J tackle racial tensions between a white Southerner and a black man from the North. Didn't In The Heat of the Night (the movie and TV show) already take care of this subject?
Here's a snippet of the song's lyrics:
I’m just a white man comin’ to you from the south land tryin’ to understand what it’s like not to be.
I’m proud of where I’m from but not everything we’ve done. It ain’t like you and me can rewrite history.
Our generation didn’t start this nation. We’re still pickin’ up the pieces, walkin’ on eggshells, fightin’ over yesterday.
Caught between southern pride and southern blame.
Paisley has taken to the daytime talk show circuit to explain the track, which has everyone debating heatedly. Personally, I think this is exactly what the late Dr. Martin Luther King foretold. We've finally reached the day when all of God's children, black men and white men, can team up to make a really awful song. What exactly made pop stars Katy Perry and John Mayer call it quits? Mayer dodged questions about the break-up on Ellen, stating:
"Listen, it was a very private relationship going in. It was a private relationship during, and it's a private relationship, still. I can understand asking the question based on some previous answers I have given, but I have finally learned how to put the wall between one thing and the other. I've been much happier since then. I'm on the same journey as everyone else. Coupling is a tricky thing."
Mayer keeping quiet on a relationship? Color me shocked. Watch the interview below! READ MORE
