The View to Salute One Life to Live on January 13

Get your hankies ready, on January 13 The View will salute One Life to Live’s 43 years on air with a special episode, co-hosted by Erika Slezak. OLTL creator Agnes Nixon will also appear on the show, which will feature behind-the-scenes footage from OLTL’s final days and interviews with your favorite stars.  The View plans to announce which other OLTL stars will appear in the coming days.

Great news One Life to Live fans! Prospect Park has released a statement revealing Erika Slezak (Viki Buchanan), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Manning), Michael Easton (John McBain) and Ted King (Tomas Delgado) have agreed to remain with the series as it makes the jump online!

Pending a final agreement with AFTRA, Prospect Park has confirmed that One Life To Live cast members Ted King (Tomas Delgado), Michael Easton (John McBain), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer) and star of stars Erika Slezak who plays Lord family matriarch Victoria Lord, have agreed to deals to join the company’s new production of One Life To Live. This marks the first confirmation of cast members since Prospect Park began planning for the soap production to live on the new online network beyond its finale January televised date on ABC.

ABC soap's grand dames are telling the truth and shaming the devil (aka ABC Daytime Chief Brian Frons) as their soaps prepare to leave the network TV airwaves. In a touching, two-page spread in the Aug. 29-Sept. 11 issue of TV Guide Magazine, Susan Lucci (Erica) reveals to Michael Logan her questions about what lead to ABC cancelling All My Children:

"I don't have the answers, but I certainly have a lot of questions," says the star. 'Was there disdain for daytime drama on the part of [ABC Daytime chief] Brian Frons? Did he every really like what we did at All My Children?"

Erika Slezak Speaks Out on "Terrible Loss" of One Life to Live

One Life to Live’s Erika Slezak, who recently celebrated her 40th anniversary on the show, gave a special message to fans through her Official Fan Club.

"Please tell all our fans how deeply sorry I am to be losing this wonderful show that has so much heart and so much life. I will miss my work, my friends, my OLTL family so very much. I consider this to be a terrible loss to the television community and especially to the New York community."
