Jacob Young

Jacob Young Picks The Bold and the Beautiful!

So much for my poll! It looks like Jacob Young has made his decision and will be reprising the role of fashion scion Rick Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful! The actor, who has been doing the work of his career of late as another dynastic heir, JR Chandler on All My Children, gave the scoopage to TV Guide's Michael Logan. Peep the touching moment Young shared with Logan about when AMC creator Agnes Nixon learned he was leaving:

TV Guide Magazine: First Debbi Morgan. Now you. How'd they take the news down at AMC that you're not continuing?

Young: [Laughs] The other day [AMC creator] Agnes Nixon was doing an appearance on our show and [exec producer] Julie Carruthers said, "Agnes is looking for you. She wants to say hello. She says she also wants to give you a spanking!" But Agnes, in addition to being a genius, is a lovely lady. She understood. When I found her she was getting her makeup done. I said, "Agnes, how are you?" She said, "Well, I'd be a lot better if you [weren't leaving]. Nah, it's okay. I just had to put that dig in there! You've been so great on the show and we've been lucky to have you." I think everybody understands. To let opportunity pass by during this time of uncertainty is just kind of silly. I couldn't wait around. I spoke to some of my cast members and advised them all to get out there in the business and see what's crackin'. Anybody with common sense would do that. I've talked to a lot of the AMC production staff and they're saying that if these deals with Prospect Park aren't put in place by September so that the production and the writing can get back up and rolling, it's going to be very difficult logistically. That January launch date would be very optimistic, to say the least. READ MORE

Which Soap Should Jacob Young Choose?

Will Jacob Young be heading online with All My Children, or could the in demand actor be returning to one of the two soaps he starred on prior to heading for Pine Valley as Adam Chandler, Jr. aka JR? According to this week's print edition of CBS Soaps In Depth, Young revealed to the zine one of his former soaps has expressed interest in him returning.

Young got his soapy start playing Eric Forrester, Jr. (Rick) on The Bold and the Beautiful from 1997-99, before moving over to General Hospital as Lucky Spencer 2.0 from 2000-03. While I sincerely hope Prospect Park manages to entice Young to continue representing the next generation of the Chandlers as AMC transitions off the ABC airwaves, I totally get an actor needing to go with the best possible option for his career. Whaddya you guys think?

Which of the three soaps Jacob Young has starred on do you want to see him on?

Regan Reax: My Love Affair With Rebecca Herbst and Elizabeth Webber

Shocked, dismayed, sad, disappointed, angry, heartbroken — I’m experiencing a full body of emotions, all due to the ridiculous firing of Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) from General Hospital. I know, some—maybe most—will jump to the conclusion that my dismay is due to my love of all things Liason, the unforgettable romantic pairing featuring Herbst’s Liz and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and I won’t lie, that definitely plays a part, but I have been having a love affair with the character of Elizabeth Webber since long before she fell for Jason. In fact, I've loved Liz and Herbst since they first popped up in Port Charles back in 1997.

Elizabeth’s storylines over the past 13 years have made her one of my all-time favorite soap opera characters, while Herbst's performances in those storylines resulted in her becoming one of my favorite daytime actresses. "Bad" Lizzie Webber was a force to be reckoned with when she first showed up at Audrey’s (Rachel Ames). You just couldn’t help but root for the underdog, little sister over the more “perfect” Sarah.

When GH scribe Michele Val Jean made the decision to write a brutal rape storyline for the character of Liz, Herbst’s acting choices —not to mention the elegant writing—transformed her into a fan favorite, which she’s been ever since. Who could ever forget a shattered and broken Elizabeth crawling out of those bushes, only to be found by Lucky (Jonathan Jackson)? READ MORE

All My Children Spoilers!

Here’s the Scoop!

Marissa and JR are finally over… woo… hoo? I have been such a champion of JR and Annie, but for some reason lately I’ve found myself liking Scott and Annie. Who knew!? Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad Marissa and JR have ended, mostly because I’m hoping this gives Marissa a one-way ticket out of Pine Valley, but I’m not so sure I’m on the JR and Annie team anymore, at least not currently. I can be wooed, especially with a little heat courtesy of Jacob Young and Melissa Claire Egan. Annie is committed to Scott, but leaves to meet JR after making love to her husband. How will Annie feel when JR tells her he accepts that she is with Scott? READ MORE
